I read it and there is nothing nefarious in it. It's a pie in the sky proposal not some power grab by the elites to establish the new world order.

You seem to think that the World Economic Forum are a bunch of larpers that lack either the desire or ability to influence policy around the world. I disagree.

Also, there was an expectation that Biden would release bbls from the SPR.  That means it is already priced into the market.

The 50 million barrels we’re planning to release is equivalent to just half the global daily oil demand. It’s not going to address the structural issues in market.

Biden's biggest problem is that the narrative has stuck.

Shelves are pretty much all stocked.  Gas is still cheaper than most of the 2010s.  Jobs are coming back faster than pretty much anyone expected.

But people still feel like the economy is in trouble and the supply chain "CRISIS" is hurting the country.  I don't know how you unstick a narrative, but that needs to be his focus.  Feelings don't care about your facts.

You may just have your facts wrong. There are supply constraints but demand is playing a role in the breakdown

There’s still direct transfers going on in the form of the payments GoofyBoy was mentioning. And we’re about to have a COLA adjustment for SS that is 5.9%. This will feed on itself.

In 2008, it was 1.20 higher than where it is now.  Gas prices are about where they were going into the 4th quarter of 2014 when OPEC said, "Fuck It, we aren't propping the market up anymore."  Oil prices then were about where they are now, but yet, gasoline and diesel prices are slightly cheaper at this stage.

But oh no, things are too expensive.

High gasoline and oil prices are not a bad thing.

It’s not just gas. There’s food inflation too that people are dealing with. Hits lower incomes harder.

When you take sentences out of context and give it a sinister meaning you are engaging in classic conspiracy theory behavior. I am not saying that there isn't anything to criticize regarding the WEF but you will not be taken seriously when you go into Alex Jones mode.

You’re welcome to read and look at the context. There’s not much to it.

This is the most boring “conspiracy theory” out there in that they’re discussing and planning it out in the open. I didn’t have to sneak into a secret meeting or anything. It’s all on their website and discussed extensively by the chairman of the organization. The truth is stranger than fiction.

Who are the elites that want to make everyone eat tofu while they dine on Kobe hamburgers?

    The Davos crowd.

This speech from the head of the WEF touches on it briefly, in the context of remaking our food production systems.

    https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2021/10/how-to-build-more-sustainable-healthier-more-equitable-food-systems/

An interesting line here. They’ve been impressed by how much they can push through when the population feels threatened. We will move to “Climate emergency” soon to advance more initiatives that would otherwise be resisted.

    Spoiler

The pandemic has shown us the power of unprecedented global action and coordination towards achieving a common goal.

Here’s their program to change agriculture

    https://www.weforum.org/communities/100-million-farmers

    Carbon credits will be integral.

I like how these emergencies always end up centralizing power and increasing surveillance.

    Spoiler

The One Hundred Million Farmers platform is also promoting innovative solutions. It offers the scope to apply satellite and digital technologies to potentially engage tens of millions of farmers in co-creating a new reward and payment mechanism for those who adopt net-zero, nature-positive practices. This could lead to the creation of a whole new asset class in soil and regenerative farming.

Using satellites to track emissions and reward, or punish, producers. Cool cool.

    Lastly,

    https://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_White_Paper_Alternative_Proteins.pdf

Some nice light reading, but I like the section about the framing that is going to be necessary to drive adoption by the plebs.

    Hope that helps

    Christmas, guns, jobs, suburbs, meat,

Not really, you would fucking love to, I mean kind of, not really, it’s on the list.

Remember on the energy transition thread one of the bullet points was the need to alter food production for the environment. You even pronounced predictably how there were some tasty man made protein options.

Please believe that if the elites can sell that to the global population then they will still be eating real meat and protein and Mr and Mrs NeonMoon will be enjoyed their tofurkey Bob Cratchit style.

In any event, here’s Joe Biden’s America. I wonder if a R was in office would there be such helpful segments explaining how to get by?

What’s the biggest shame with this inflation is that the cause (low interest rates) of the inflation has made many people a lot of money. Most of it on the stock market or increased land/house value. Sure they’re annoyed about higher prices at the store or restaurant but higher prices haven’t impacted their purchasing.

on the other hand, we have people that haven’t benefited much from lower interest rates but now they’re getting killed with higher prices taking more of the income.

it’s heartless but the American way of the last 40 years is to not be poor.

I agree with all of this but some people here say rich people are upset about inflation and that’s why it’s getting play in the media. It’s really good for the little guy. Literally the exact opposite opinion. Like so many things today.

The rules will never apply to these elites making them. They’re going to have large carbon footprints with their jets and mansions. They’re not going to eat these man made alternative proteins or bugs that they’re trying to normalize in the name of the environment.

    Right on time.

Same energy as this from a few years back.
