  1. I'm really digging this Cal vs Hokies game. The Cal unis are sick af, and I've always liked VTech for some reason. Maybe it's because I've been to Blacksburg and to a game and I like their unis, too.
  2. That is wild. But hey, at least some kind of moderating exists, so that's a step in the right direction. We got invited to several pre-game warm-ups, so I'm excited about that. Hopefully the bell stuff will just be nothing more than background noise to me. I have no idea how many of us Longhorns traveled here, so here is to hoping we get seated next to a few so we can all share our misery together. But regardless of the cowbells and all of that, this is like one of those mom and pop dice bars that aren't really on the map. As I said before, the people, and we've met several, are all super friendly. I expected more hostility, but haven't had any whatsoever. Maybe baseball is where the goons are, but again, it's not game day and we aren't drunk, so we shall see how it goes. I kind of dig this place, tbh. I wouldn't want to live here, but I would absolutely come back with some buddies for a game, or hell, even my date now. They also don't seem to be assholes, either. The locals and fans have been nothing short of welcoming. Props to them for that.
  3. That's insane lol. So far lovely people, but if they go full on cult with their cowbells, there might be a news broadcast in the middle of the game that says "Longhorns fan beats Mississippi State student to death with own cowbell."
  4. Wow. I'm actually confused by that. I didn't realize how strict that state was. It's pretty unbelievable, but it.now makes sense as to why there aren't any craft breweries.
  5. Be like Saban and just not give a fuck. It's a cutthroat job, and these coaches are making generational wealth. Any of us that work in any business where we have to make tough decisions, even if they're "kids" compared to us, you have to make that decision for the betterment of your company/program.
  6. I actually bought us ear plugs just for this occasion. At least they have some moderation, I suppose. But 3+ hours of having to deal with that may actually drive me literally insane and I'll have to take a trip to their asylum to get a lobotomy since I'm doubting they have moved up to medication.
  7. Wow. I did not know that. It's 2025 and you still have dry towns. My mind can't even comprehend that, especially when you have two P4/5 universities and the state is small.
  8. It will not. We're 7 games in and we have such an inept offense and offensive staff, that it will probably just worsen the situation because Sarkisian can't make adjustments.
  9. Honestly, we've reached a point of who cares what high school coaches think? This is a pay for play issue now. Shit, even the G-League is allowing those guys to jump from what was once considered "pros" to now they can get into college because the lines are so blurred. As for Stroh, I just don't want that guy taking up a scholarship that can be used for someone who will actually be athletic and contribute. Scholarships are pulled all the time, and not even for getting into trouble, but for the sake of X player is better, and Y player has stagnated. Offer them a preferred walk-on if they don't want to have a sit down and discuss possibly transferring.
  10. And I already know that shit is going to drive both of us crazy. Just seeing it on TV is annoying, so now I get to witness myself having an aneurysm or I snap and catch s felony or five.
  11. Right? Like, 1 at the very minimum, but nothing. That's insane for a college town. I would say that is the least fun of the trip so far. I was hoping to try new beers, but the food is great so far.
  12. Uluave is a beast. Like that kids energy.
  13. Really liking this Cal offense and defense. Harsin has done a good job, it seems.
  14. Same. As long as I'm surrounded by good people, I can have a good time.
  15. Nice. I want to visit as many pre-game locations we can before the game begins. My date and I want to make the most of our trip, regardless of how the score ends tomorrow. I can't tell you how nice and courtesy the fans are.
  16. So far all of the MSU fans we've met have been extremely welcoming and super nice. Much better than I expected, tbh. We also tried to looks for a craft brewery, but came up empty. I'm more excited for the game tomorrow then I thought I would be. We drove by the stadium and it's not as bad as I assumed. It absolutely makes aggy's Kroger stadium look like Chernobyl. It looks well maintained. But yeah, the people are extremely welcoming, so if anyone else has traveled here, I highly recommend it, even if it's not a "name" game. I honestly think I'll come back to watch a few baseball games. We had a few guys show us around Polk-DeMent stadium is very solid. Definitely going to watch Ole Miss vs MSU baseball. I like the small town feel of Starkville. It's not this shit hole like most of the state. Now being to both Oxford and Starkville, I will recommend this quaint place.
  17. Nice. Appreciate you giving me some places to hit up. I'll pregame at The Landing just to see how it goes. Arepas Coffee and Bar sounds great, actually. Just looked it up and it gets great reviews,so that's where we're going. We're about to head to Taste as we speak. Love me some good Italian, and it looks very solid. Thank you for pointing out some good spots.
  18. Almost. Juggled the ball. Cal WR's catch about as well as we do. But their QB is miles better then Arch at this stage.
  19. Nice 39 yard pass and run from Cal.
  20. I dont disagree, but they aren't putting up the numbers they are right now. That's my point. They're good players, but unless you have an OC that can coach up QBs who isn't an incompetent dumbass and can get those guys the ball, it's all moot.
  21. Here's to hoping Stroh doesn't Max Merril his way to 5 years taking up a scholarship. Hopefully the new coach just tells him he can't cut it and may want to fight another school, or be a walk-on.
  22. The pussy portal is that way ---------->
  23. That's pretty cool, man. Except for the Hoda part. She annoys me. Blacksburg was very cool to attend a game to. I really enjoyed my time. Their gash game is nice. Or at least it was.
  24. Very, very nice drive from Cal to tie it up
  25. We walked down that ave to hit up some bars, and I swear I've never seen more homelessness and drug addicts in my life. It was absolutely sad to see. As for Mississippi, being to Oxford, I personally found it to be quaint and nice. Here I am in Starkville, and I might as well be on skid row comparitively. This place is depression wrapped in suicide. The complete opposite of our trip to Oxford.
