  1. We drank in Deep Ellum until 2 am. Then drove to Ft Worth and slept at a friend's parents house for about 5 hours before heading back for I believe an 11 am kick off. It was cold. Somebody on our trip played Lil Troy 'Wanna Be a Baller' enough times that if I hear it, I still think about being on Central Expressway after 5 hours on the road from Fayetteville.
  2. I attended Arkansas during the late 1990s. We were already SECSECSEC before I got there. I saw us play Texas in a Cotton Bowl on NYD 2000. That's it. It was cold, and we won. But I don't remember getting jacked up about it. I was at that 1999 Tennessee game. We HATED Tennessee, but back then, Arkansas and Tennessee played every year. Since expansion 2.0, that game never gets played, so those feelings are gone. We always hated LSU (mostly because their fans were so awful back then. Dysfunctional drunk South Louisianans. Even HOME games I hated to encounter Lsu fans. You haven't lived until you've been surrounded and taunted by VISITING fans). Ole Miss is probably my least favorite team, but we seem to have really good karma against them, so its a rewarding hate. I don't think I'll fully understand the old-head hate of Texas. I never cared that much. The excitement around this game and in Fayetteville before and after was a spectacle, so I understand it better now. As for the domination of the series, I'm over 40 , and in my lifetime, the series is equal, or 10-9. Something like that. I was nice to all the Texas fans I encountered. And the three NE Texas bros who couldn't get an Uber to Drake Field around midnight, I was the big bastard who gave you a ride. You're welcome. Thanks for the tip.
  3. Fun chatting with you people earlier. Be safe and get home. I'm finally heading to Dickson Street. Y'all good with 2025? Or next year? Either way, this game needs to happen.
  4. I might have saved your lives. You're welcome.
  5. It's from a local Northwest Arkansas company, Core Brewing, and it is their version of a hard seltzer. Under 1 carb per 12 oz. Its not bad.
  6. How many shots of Fireball do you get for $250? 🤒
  7. For those so inclined, C4 is the big gay club off Dickson. The Bike trail that intersects Dickson by George's next to the train tracks will take you right to it, if you head south. It's about 60 yards south of George's Majestic Lounge. There's another one, but I can't recall where it is now. Somewhere off the square. I'm no angel. I'm just a guy who is playing taxi-driver today for friends and family so I can't gym or drink yet. I also enjoy being a tour-guide, and I've been drunk-enough in an away college town where I ended up falling asleep on a sidewalk and being awakened by cops.
  8. Here's your goal. Go up these steps and you'll be headed straight to where you need to be. Just follow sidwalks and then the crowd. The simplest and shortest route. Lots of elevation up and down on the Arkansas campus as you've probably noticed, and while it's ok for youngsters, it is rough on us old bastards.
  9. Here's a tip, if you're walking from Dickson to the stadium. When you get to the edge of campus, at Arkansas Avenue, walk up the steps at the corner of the quad and walk acoss Old Main Lawn. It is a slope, but gradual. And that will take you directly towards the NE corner of the stadium, which is where visitors sit. If you miss this turn and walk straight up Dickson Street all the way, you will walk down another steep hill, and back up another even steeper hill past the Greek Theater, and it's a bitch. This pic is the up and down section I am trying to spare you from walking. Steeper than it looks. Plus, the route across Old Main lawn is shadier, shorter, and prettier.
  10. Members can take a few guests. Best bet is to make a cardboard sign (just steal one from our many homeless) and hang around outside Cannibal & Craft. It's like an old speakeasy, with hidden chambers and secret rooms once you get inside. Nice furniture, and stuff college kids would destroy. I believe a Walton grandson helped start it up a decade ago. I've been many times, but only with wealthy friends.
  11. Tony's is a good spot, owned by good folks. There's a secret bar on Dickson St called Ben's. It is hidden in the back of the tiki bar (to the right of the piano bar), the door is behind the cigarette machine in the vestibule to the right of the main bar. If you can find a way in there, you will have achieved something. You might also run into TV people and billionaires.
  12. Where's the brunch location? I live here in Fayetteville, but I'm straight.
  13. Espringdale, holmes.
  14. I think at least one of you is drunk enough to ride the mechanical boar down the street at YeeHawg. Walk outside JJ's, turn right, past the food trucks, and you're there. THAT would be a pic worth taking. Don't worry, the puke will wipe right off the vinyl padding surrounding the pig. You can get a to-go cup for your drink. Ask for the ORA cup. Not kidding.
  15. You can take drinks from bars into the streets, in and around Dickson Street and the Square area. There's a particular cup you have to request. It's recyclable, or biodegradable or whatever. It's called the ORA (Outdoor Refreshment Area) and it's pretty much every part of "downtown" Fayetteville, from campus to College Ave.
  16. I registered just to let you slapdicks know there is an IV clinic on Dickson Street for your inevitable brutal hangovers. Enjoy Fayetteville. Looks like you're not having a problem doing that. http://hydratenwa.com/about/
