  1. “Lorie darlin', life in San Francisco, you see, is still just life. If you want any one thing too badly, it's likely to turn out to be a disappointment. The only healthy way to live life is to learn to like all the little everyday things, like a sip of good whiskey in the evening, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk, or a feisty gentleman like myself.”

In a rally last month he said he already made America great, that’s why his 2020 slogan is “Keep America Great!”

I, for one, already feel so much greater. I felt like a schlepp during the Obama administration.  But since Trump was elected my feet don't stink, puppies and women adore me, and I learned to play guitar.

Because the wording of the census law is "all persons" and not all citizens?

Texas will lose reps in the House and electoral votes under a 'citizens' census.

It's actually "by adding to the whole Number of free Persons,"  but your point is well taken.

I blitzkreig'd Babylon Berlin season 1 on my way home from Italy yesterday.  Awesome series. I took German in high school and college and it's actually coming back as its going along.  Makes it easier to only read half of the show.

Along with the 2006 Rose Bowl, it is the best thing I've seen on TV in the last 15  years.

    Truth.

Where the fuck did Surly come from ?

Word Origin and History for surly
    adj.

1560s, "lordly, majestic," alteration of Middle English sirly "lordly,imperious" (14c.), from sir. The meaning "rude, gruff" is first attested1660s. For sense development, cf. lordly, and German herrisch"domineering, imperious," from Herr "master, lord."

Just wished surly rolled off the tongue like the shag did.

I know what you mean.  "The surl"  just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Blacklab says he doesn't own this board, somebody else does. Here's my question: is this the final resting place?  In other words, what will happen when we inevitably screw up and piss the new board owner off to the point that he shuts it down, takes back the name etc...?   Because I don't want to waste all of my best material and impart all of my pearls of wisdom on a board that's just going to go away after 10 or so years. I've got posterity to think about!

A VERY early photo (1860s) of Congress Ave. in Austin looking north toward the old capitol building, which burned in the early 1880s.. Note the foot bridges crossing the street. Those were to keep the mud and slop off of people as they crossed. It was subsequently bricked over and then, in the early 1900s, paved.

lulz at suggesting Donald Trump as a viable candidate ----- every single human on earth in 2015

Newsome's baggage (the affair with the blonde) might be a little too much for him to overcome in the current atmosphere.

Speaking of danger_snax, whenever he wakes from his bake and finds the shag deserted..

    He's gonna freak out...man.

I wish, somehow, there was some way to transcribe the actual words that he thinks in his head when he realizes he's alone in the Shag.
