Where are you hearing racial slurs?  Random Trumpers are saying it around you?  I’m really curious about this?

How do you know they are trump supporters?  Do they wear red hats and say “this is MAGA country”?

I hunt in the panhandle every year and hear the n-word and worse. Nobody bats an eye upon those expressions. Hell, one afternoon I walked into a cafe and this idiot had his face in front of the tv repeating monkey at the screen. Nothing but laughs from onlookers.

Fuck off, people are tired. You got Canada out on the streets in below freezing weather to scare their Prime Minister to play sick, even though he doesn't have to. You have countries getting rid of mandates, and states as well. You have people who play scared go out twice to defy Thier own laws. This is over.

I read a different article on this last night with the similar title porn but when I read into it said that so far this strain was first discovered almost a month ago and is getting bullied by Omicron.  Probably why not a "Variant of concern"

Yep, Omicron saw it and wasn't impressed.

Don’t be too harsh on the kid. He’s been posting almost exclusively in the DT thread on this issue and there’s some real bloodthirsty psychos in there who are gleefully jumping around defending this murderer because he’s on their team. The sack being one of the primary examples of that. I think he’s working it into his Sunday sermon this week.

Damn, me thinking of Sack giving a sermon in church.

So it got here Wednesday and I didn't have time to put it together and it was raining anyway.  I put it together today and started it up.  I already love it.  The one thing I cannot get to work though is the WiFi.  I read that they have issues connected to mesh or 5.0 ghz signals. So I turned off the 5.0 and powered down all but one of the AP's so I know my phone and the pit would connect to the same wireless but it would not connect.  Did anyone else have a similar issue?

I started it up for about an hour today with just the pellets.  I'll probably burn a couple more times to develop a little bit of seasoning before I cook anything.  I'll be gone all day tomorrow anyway and am making chili on Sunday.

    You might try this group.

Wife does the weekly grocery shopping.  She's pretty efficient; out the door and back in around an hour.  But every trip there she will report that something is missing that was on her list, or she has to substitute brands, quantities, sizes, whatever.  For example, Nutella.  We have a 10 and 8 year old, and they like sandwiches made of it.  But lately, it's either completely missing, or wife will come home with what I refer to as the sampler size (honestly, 2 oz or so) because it's all the store has and they limit how many you purchase, or a different brand completely, which the kids will mildly bitch about because it's not Nutella, but they eat it anyway (and it does taste inferior).

Another item is Wheaties.  That's frequently out as well.

    Here you go.

OK seeking guidance from the fine Surly chefs. I live in a dense urban environment so no room for a large grill. I need to leave in the garage and drag out, up one step, to grill. I’ve been using a Weber Q2200 and it is fantastic but I’m sick of 1 lb propane canister and don’t want to mess with adapter hoses and moving a 20 lb propane tank all the damn time. So, pellet grills have my attention. I don’t smoke much meet - mainly grilling chicken thighs, shrimp, pork chops, the occasional steak, veggies, etc but the pellet pizza making ability plus toying with smoking is quite appealing.

I have my searched narrowed to these 3 - any feedback? I’m leaning toward the recteq  …

    Recteq Bullseye

    Pity Boss Sportsman portable

Traeger Ranger (but I’ll need to find a stand for it I guess)

A friend of mine has the Bullseye and loves it. Mostly grills, but can be used as a smoker.

    Man, that's awful.

I don't want to step outside the lines, but do you think it might help your kids to get another pet ASAP?  Something for them to put their emotions on?  Probably unrealistic.

We haven't lost super close pets yet with our kids.  Random guinea pigs, yeah.  But our dogs?  Nah, that's gonna hurt.  I don't really know what's the best way to help kids through that, other than hugs and, well, hugs.

I've lost a few pups over the years and while I suffer mostly alone, I always think how much worse it would be if I had kids. That would kick it up to a whole other level.
