  1. This year's Barks for Beers. This time, only 25 breweries instead of 30, but still a pretty good deal for $25

Also, a lot of breweries flipped over, either because they decided it wasn't worth the hassle or the company is trying to get more exposure to the outlier breweries. No ABW, ABGB, Jester King, Zilker, Indy, or Hops & Grain (which is odd since their huge dog philanthropists). Here are the new participants:

    Participating breweries:

    4th Tap Brewing Co-op

    Acopon Brewing Co.

    Adelbert’s Brewery

    Black Star Co-op

    Blue Owl Brewing

    Bluebonnet Beer Company

    The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen

    Celis Brewery

    Circle Brewing Co.

    Family Business Beer Company

    Flying Man Brewing Co.

    Live Oak Brewing Company

    NLand Brewing Company

    NXNW – Slaughter

    NXNW – Stonelake

    Oskar Blues Brewery

    Real Ale Brewing Company

Red Horn Coffee House & Brewing Co.

    Southern Heights Brewing Co.

    St. Elmo Brewing Co.

    Strange Land Brewery

    Suds Monkey Brewing Company

    Thirsty Planet Brewing Company

    Two Wheel Brewing Company

    Whitestone Brewery

  2. Green Flash Rayon Vert was a fucking spectacular beer. Green Flash Double Stout was just as exciting. I hadn't seen either on shelves in ages. I'd say I'd miss em if I didn't already think they'd already died.

Also, word is is that 512 is opening a larger brewery/taproom in a different location, but haven't heard much about it in several months.

chiming in here, friend of the program.  i reached out to the founder and he asked if you could send an email to the info@ email address that is on the website (www.hisignbrewing.com) to let him and the head brewer know the details.

Isn't their brewhouse pretty much automated, tho? Probably something to do with packaging. This is their first bottle release, right? Doesn't shock me that something weird might occur on that part of the process. But I dunno, maybe they brewed this batch on the pilot and the infection was during the brew.

Infected with what? I have yet to try anything short of excellent from Hi Sign.

    I'm going to guess bacteria

  5. Godziskie has been my favorite beer of LO's for years. I had a few at the brewery yesterday to get a good primer for the canned release. 3.0% ABV beer is fuckin great -- when its meant to be that and not some Okie ass shit.

Looking south from about Airport at I35 being built in 1954. The red arrow is pointing to what was then my grandparents’ house on 43rd, which backed up to the Hancock Golf Course back nine before it became Hancock Center.

oh wow. so, hancock used to be a full 18 hole course? pretty interesting. Crazy how the terrain between the two nines is so different. the original back nine looks like a links course.

He made a shitty decision on an outlet to Miazga that was nearly turned into a Paraguayan goal if not for Will Trapp coming back. I only saw the ESPN highlights and they mentioned that Miazga's turnover nearly led to a goal, but he never should have be given that ball in that position.

Definitely true. That was not a good choice, but on that same note, lots of good buildup from the back as a result of his footwork. Miazga actually did fuck that up if we're being picky, but maybe a pass from the GK that didn't need to be made.
