  1. I like Costa’s. I get a discount for being a veteran thru govx. Steep and cheap is another place with good discount. They have been durable and have great lenses.  Glass lenses seem more scratch resistant than polycarbonate.  They will replace or fix scratched lenses for $60-80

I’ve also enjoyed a few Nike and serengheti (from Costco ).  When I get Nike glasses, I try to get models with swappable lenses. That way when I scratch a set, I don’t have to trash the pair.

  2. Help me solve a debate.  And, if I'm wrong, I will readily admit it to my wife.
Long story short.  I said something about being part Scottish.  I've made jokes about her Scottish heritage before, so this was kind of surprising to her.  She replied, "Oh you're part Scottish now?"  I said that, being predominantly of European heritage, I'm probably part every nationality of Europe and that she is as well.  She then began to argue that her sister went all the way back to 1032 on some genealogy site and they had no ancestors from Eastern Europe.
My claim is that this would be damn near impossible.  She admits to Scottish, Irish, English, and German.  I said going back 10 generations would add up to 1, 012 direct ancestors - 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great, etc...  And that going back to 1032 would be around 30 generations.  I'm not even sure what that number would be but, considering that going back doubles the number of direct ancestors each generation AS WELL AS shrinks the world (fewer people), that there's no way none of them aren't from Eastern Europe.
    What say you?

I think the drastic rate of intermingling of ancestry is relatively new.

    Very possible she is correct.
  3. She sounds fat.

    Psychic post is psychic.

Mine needed directions. I told her the intersection and she was clueless. Didnt matter that she has been to this shopping center 3 weeks in a row. I repeated the intersection. It then hit her, the same center as a donut shop she likes. She told me I should speak to her in donut.

  4. PSA: Your kid gets 3 seconds of hootin and hollerin. At 4 seconds, Someone else won’t be able to hear their kids name. Keep your shit tight. Loud as you want for 3 seconds.

This is NOT a “who loves their kid more” contest.

  5. Police trade ins can be had closer to $400.

Also, veterans can get a blue label (L/E) price this summer.

M&P9 or 9c 2.0 are similar but less expensive. CZ P10c is glock like and comes with a great trigger. Ruger SR9c is similar size and probably the least expensive of the bunch.

If you want closer to $300, Bersa makes a couple models that are underrated quality shooter (BP9cc and one other model I’ve shot but can’t remember the name)

  6. People that put the lower score first when asked about the score to a game.
    Example.
Hey what's the score to the Red Sox/Yankees game?
    Red Sox are down 1-6.

    That’s trivial. Bravo.

I cannot stand any live feed to a sporting event that doesn’t include a score/essential info every second of the feed. I hate walking by the screen and waiting minutes to know time/inning/score.
  7. Graduated in 99, and I used to love mid-90's jeans that chicks needed help getting button and zipper up.  Saw lots of camel-toe walking through the hallways as a mid-teen boy.

Rocky Mountains? Girls carried pliers in their purses to get the zippers back up.
  8. When I saw Shooter the movie, I thought to myself they could not have chosen a worse actor to play the role of the shooter.

The series on Netflix currently two seasons in showed me there was a worse option. Ryan Phillips does not make me believe he could be Bob Lee Swagger.

  9. All of these pointless "graduations" they have for kids these day in every single grade. There should be one graduation ceremony and that is to finish high school.
No, it's not a big deal that your child is moving on with the rest of their peers to the next grade. It's pretty impossible to fail these days as long as you just show up. No one gives a shit that your child is going from 3rd to 4th grade.

Yes this. I told my wife I wasn’t going to the kindergarten graduation. She said I was a bad parent. Didn’t argue.

  10. I used Dr. Kansas with the urology team in round rock off 620. Not painful. Offered Xanax before. Recovery was uncomfortable as expected but didn’t seem like it took long.
