My first plan (meetup with friends 4 miles from campus then uber to the game) fell through. We audibled and found parking near the stadium in hopes of finding a tailgate I could pay to get into (bricked).
Ended up grabbing a prime rib samdwhich and standing around waiting for the team bus to show up.
Kentucky needs to step up their game day options. They need at least one trailer selling drinks. They would have made a killing.
Many regrets not heading to B&B now. Hook ‘em. -
Arrived Wednesday.
Keeneland Thursday. The weather was perfect.
Gorgeous grounds and a good time. I stayed for all 9 races and only won one bet.
Louisville Friday.
Louisville slugger factory tour and Peerless tasting.
We stopped by Green River and Bardstown storefronts.
Mussels and Burgers makes an exxxclelent burger.
We were home in time to watch Miami shit the bed….-

Surly tailgate gonna be lit.
If this happens (surly tailgate) I have seven with me that don’t have plans for the day of just yet. -
Nice. We have Keeneland Thursday booked. Looking for a bourbon tour for Friday.

This will be a great weekend. -

So Smoke. . . Didn’t nail the landing but exceeded where I thought it would land.
The big “twist” was meh. -
We’ll be staying in Georgetown and driving down to Lexington the day of. I’ll be with a group of 6-8 so I have some cats to herd to determine what game day will look like for us. On Thursday and Friday I anticipate there will be some time spent on Horses and Bourbon.
The details are TBD.-

TxEx84 I'll be there with an amigo as well. Between you, me and GottaB sounds like we'll have 12 or so folks. So $100ish per person. If you were open to reserving the spot I'd be open to chipping in $200. Maybe make plans for some grub and drinks? I'm driving in and could bring coolers, canopy and a some chairs. PM me if interested.
I’m going with a group of 6 so I’m definitely interested. I can float the idea to my friends to gauge interest.-

What’s the group consensus on the Bugout?
I have 5. Four full size and a mini. Of the full size I have one with metal scales, one with carbon fiber, one custom and one standard model with grivory(?) scales.
It is like a griptilian but thinner. It is not as comfortable to hold but is very effective as a pocket knife. Short of abusive hard use, it’s a good knife. Even the full size is very tolerable for daily carry. I forget I have it on me until I reach for it.
If you avoid MSRP, they’re worthy.-

Anyone have an idea of what I should expect in Kentucky? Do I bother trying to find a tailgate?
-
I’ll hopefully make more than I miss this year. Hook’em.

Seconded.
Bought 4 times. No complaints. -
^ They gonna make it past December?
Last I heard the real estate deal to develop that lot had softened if not completely fallen through.
Rumors were they’d get at least one more full season (Aug to may).-

Saw The Black Keys at Moody Amplitheater Saturday.
A little warm out but it was a decent show.

Very good deal - PSA clearance on Sig Sauer P365XL ……. $449.99:
https://palmettostatearmory.com/sig-sauer-p365xl-or-9mm-3-7-12rd-pistol-w-night-sights-black.html
Is this the self firing model the cops don’t want? -
I don’t know much about knives but I plan to carry them in my shop. What are some “bespoke” brands? Limited production? Folding and fixed blades.
I don’t want bench made or spyderco or whatever. $300-$1000 per range.

For those of you with kids, or who just love RC, big event this weekend at the track in Hutto
The start of the 2024 RC PRO Series is this weekend. A brand new layout has just been put in by Ethan Lefebvre and it is a supercross inspired layout with a truly inspired jump line at the front of the track. Signups will be at the track starting on Friday.
As always RV’s and Pit trailers CAN NOT PLUG INTO TRACK POWER. If you are caught plugging into track power you will be told to leave.
Here is some important info you will need:
- -You can signup at the track
- -Pit tables are first come first serve (we don't reserve spots)
- -RV's and trailers must park in the grass areas and CAN NOT plug into track power!
- -Bring a table/chair/ezup/extension cord if you can just in case our pit areas fills up.
- -Concession Stand will be open please support it
Here is the schedule:
Friday: (you must signup before practicing)
- 10:00am Practice Opens
- 8:00pm Practice Closes
Saturday:
- 8:00am Practice opens for those that did not run on Friday
- 8:30am practice closes
- 9:00am Qualifiers Start
Sunday:
- 8:00am Mains Start
Track Address:
- Thornhill Racing Circuit
- 1575 County Road 101
- Hutto Tx 78634
I went and watched 20 min of racing last Saturday for whatever that event was. It’s a cool track. I don’t think I’ll ever be that into RCs but I’ll go watch another race weekend.

Arcane was excellent. Just worked my way through this. The animation was great as was the story.
