  1. I've used a bunch of Viofo cams, will continue to use them. Depending what car you have, Dongar has mirror power taps that make it plug and play no wiring install.

I have VIOFO 119 and 119 minion my two cars.

They work well enough and easy to install.

I don’t care much for the phone app.
  2. Maybe a combo?  I was a bit surprised to see $100 after previous weeks it had been $20 but was still going to pay it for the convenience of being near my seats and generally liking you degenerates.. I have no problem with charging more as I saw how much you killed yourself for that Georgia tailgate.  I actually went poking around to see what else was going on and another talkgate that I've considered it the past that is usually $40/person just isn't having it because they are using their parking lot to stage construction.  It may be a tough ticket to get which sucks because I was looking forward to watching as much of the first game as I could get away with before ducking to my seats and was hoping to maybe watch part of the third while the garages emptied out.
Any suggestions on an alternate would be appreciated.  Happy to contribute something to it, but not in a position to put a couple grand or anything.
I guess the days of rocking up with a 10 spot and a 12 pack to an empty parking lot where someone was smoking 100 lbs of brisket are over.  Shame.  There just really aren't many parking lots left....I love the feel of the LBJ setting, but I get the feeling they want a pretty penny to set all of that stuff up for you(and I know Imma saves a ton with the solar and his own TVs.)
I basically had to tell family to get bent as well to get to the game, so I guess it will be a bit sparsely attended, which shocks me because since we've never had one I assumed it would be a once in a decade(maybe 5 years) opportunity to get into DKR in December.  We'll also see what the weather ends up being...it could be quite a range(looks like mostly sunny with a high of 59 and a low nowhere near freezing which sound just about perfect as long as the wind isn't coming out of the north at 25mph).

A lot of tickets out there and others in my section are 100 less than the last time I looked:

I had a hunch this was going to be an issue.

Getting people committed to the first round when there are hopefully 3 more after is a big $$ ask for fans at an inconvenient window right before Xmas.

For a team that isn’t favored, they may be more inclined to go to the first round game. If you are one of the top four teams expecting to win the first two rounds, it is easier to shift the assets to the games after the new year.

I hope we fill the stadium but I have doubts.
  3. We have three boys in middle school. Their snacks of choice are apples and strawberries.

We probably go through 4 apples and a pound of strawberries a day.

She does the grocery shopping on Saturday. Anyone want to take a guess as to how many apples and pounds of strawberries she comes home with?

Bonus points if you can guess what day of the week I am asked to stop and pick up more fruit.

I have taken to going to Costco and buying supplemental fruit on Sunday to get us to at least Wednesday.

  4. Just checked morningstars report on 529 plans. Nevada has been downgraded from gold when we started to bronze. Utah Pennsylvania and three others are gold.

the expense ratio in Utah is vanguard like (<0.1%)  which is less than the 0.8% I see on the Nevada plan. The Nevada plan has some options for investment broadly but their age based portfolio is already transitioned to moderately conservative (45% equities 55% fixed income) so I expect my gains to be minimized while the fees are the same.   Is it worth it to move my funds to Utah to get the lower fees if my kids are in middle school?

  5. I Bought some Ariat boots while in Nashville for the game last week.

Ariat Men's Sport Wide Square Toe Cowboy Boot

They’re comfy but I bought a half size too big. I had also tried on Ariat Bench Made which I really liked but they did not have my size in the color I wanted.

tried Tecovas too but I wasn’t sold on them.

anyway, this sent me down the rabbit hole and ended up with Chisos #2 when I got back to town.

    time to break them in.

Chisos finally had stock again so I grabbed them.  These boots are absolutely fantastic.  They feel like they are made better and are more comfortable than my old hand made Luccheses

a year and a half later and regrets?

  7. I’m always looking for a burnt orange knife in a style I like. Until I fork over the $300 for the latest Sage 5, these will have to do:

    Benchmade Bailout

    kershaw Iridium

    reate box cutter

    leatherman juice

The bailout feels the best but the iridium is pretty good.  With the iridium at $50 while the Bailout is $200, it is a better value.
