  1. I’ve done a dozen buys/sells using tgt. I met at an academy parking lot, toward the back of the lot. No issues ever.

I’ve heard TGT has more attempts at fraud but haven’t heard of robberies.

With gunbroker I always had them ship it so I can’t speak to a FTF transaction with a GB seller. Did you pay online and are picking up in person? Or are you paying in person?

You may check to see if the same pistol is listed on TGT.

Bill of sale won’t help you so far as I can tell.

You could bring a friend in the car if you have one available.

    Daytime better than nights.

  2. The cops know who did it. It was the 4 originally arrested.

The lead investigator was focused on someone else and it led to a lack of attention and focus on the evidence that was there.

Two were eventually arrested and convicted. Scott and Springsteen. They confessed and both included statements that involved the other guy. When they used both confessions in each trial it created a situation where the statements couldn’t be cross examined since they refused to testify in person.

The third guy Pierce would have been named if they could have convinced Springsteen and Scott to testify but they refused.

Without enough evidence other than the confessions, they didn’t have enough to convict beyond a reasonable doubt.

  3. Turning Red was awful. Didn’t feel like a Pixar movie at all. It felt more like an autobiography of whoever wrote or directed the movie. I can see why they just released it directly to Disney+ instead of a theatrical release. This had box office bomb written all over it if it hit the theaters.

Is this supposed to be some sort of symbolism for a girl getting her first period? And turning into a monster (emotionally, of course)

  4. I hit the range sundays. I stripped both down and lubed it up with the Wilson combat lubricant it came with. The cliffs notes are Some good some bad on both.

    WC EDC X9 ~100 rounds.
Accuracy was good. I got some good groups at 7yd and still hit center mass at 15yd

The Trigger felt great, light and good break. I tend to jerk the trigger more than I do on some of my other pistols.

Reliability: this was irritating. A couple of failure to feed. I felt the cycling of the slide more than I usually do with other steel pistols. The slow cycling could be weak old ammo, could be tight fitment and stiff spring. Either way I’ll get a few hundred more rounds before I judge.

WC 7 yards. 1st mag middle, 2nd mag lower left. 3rd upper left.

    Dan Wesson. ~120 rounds.
Accuracy was noticeably better. At 7 yards I had some tight ragged holes, at 15 yards still tighter than the WC.

Trigger similar to the WC. Great 1911 trigger. Light and crisp break with a short reset. I didn’t have the jerking issue.

Reliability: one stove pipe. A handful of failure to feed. I did use a bunch different mags I had lying around. Chip McKormick, Dan Wesson, Colt, some others. I didn’t have the slow cycling like with the WC but the ammo in the old mags had been there for probably a few years.

    WC 7 yards.

15 yard. The cluster in the middle are the .45 rounds from the Dan Wesson

    Follow up.

Went back to Reds for round two of the Dan Wesson Vigil and WC EDC9. I took them home and cleaned again and re-lubed.

With the DW Vigil I had one feed issue. It was 90% fed and just a nudge seated the round. Better. Not great.

The more prevalent issue with the failure to lock on an empty mag. I’ve got a variety of mags: DW, Colt, Wilson combat, chip McCormick and Meg gar. The only ones it locked on empty was the Chip McKormick.

That got me researching. Apparently, This is a common issue and they suggest NOT CLEANING THE GUN just lubing for the first 500 rounds. The powder residue and oil should help smooth the surfaces as it cycles to ease the tight tolerances that make this failure to lock an issue.

The WC had no lock issues. I had two feed issues and one I just sat there and looked at it and it eventually fed after a short delay. The nose of the round was stalled on the ramp. I put a light coat of lube on the ramp and no more failures. Perhaps some more break in and these parts will wear into a smooth working shooter.

I feel better but not great.
  5. Just saw it.

My early thoughts are like a lot of you here. Seven, muscle car, fight lit by gunfire, yada yada.

There were some cool shots but the work to set up the shots may not have been worth it.

When I first heard it was Pattenson, I know a lot of people mocked the choice that it would be brooding vampire from the Twilight movies and I dismissed it. I thought Pattenson had done some great work since then and has grown as an actor.

I was wrong. Lots of slow shots with him looking moody and saying little.

It was the theme though. Maybe the sequel will show him evolving into . . . more.

  6. Spoiler

I didn’t care for the son dying.  Not because I’m sentimental but because it was being broadcast from the moment that the war started that he would die. He wanted to serve too badly and his dad was scared he’d die.  He was doomed.  .

I would like to see this group carry on 10 years later.

That was spoiled in the original movie when they explained where the organization came from.
  7. Delica.  Not something I would seek out, but it was a good price so I thought WTH?
Checked the few boxes I have:
    • thin blade & frame/handle & lightweight so I can wear with jeans or slacks
    • can open with one hand
    • Decent price....so when I lose it or mess it up, I'm not too torn up.

That’s an endura. Says so on the side. d4fd9a406123ef2b144f3dba5da6fb57.jpg

  8. Not sure about this.   I mean Kevin Smith turned Mark Hamill into Cocknocker.
Boba gave a reason.  He looked around at who was dying in the sarlac and realized he didn't want to be a pawn in someone else's game.  He also might think that he can gain loyalty though earning it instead of buying it.  That seems to have worked so far.   However he has basically had very little time since usurping the throne to being challenged first by the Hutts and then by the Pykes.  He seems to want to grow his group organically and not from just hired guns whom he has no attachments with.
It wasn't really a 7 Samurai comparison by my estimation.   That was the Mando/Cara episode that Howard directed in season 1.
Fennic left to support the scoots first and then she left to try to put her best skill into action.  She might have left to perform some baby eating ritual which allows her to look and move like she does at 58, something she needs to share with Boba.
Sending in an assassin was the better move.  Boba needed to be present in the town and help with the clean-up, repairs and to be grateful to those to helped him.   Him showing up to murder them would have been fine, but Fennic was the better choice and she wasn't exactly getting pounded on in the fight.  She was probably the healthiest least bruised/battered person of the bunch.   That and the Rancor needs a talking too.
The plot itself was fine.  The execution was what left more to be desired.  This wasn't the Last Jedi kind of bullshit story.   The problem is that Rodriguez has a limited vision on fight scenes, limited ability to pull all of the pieces together, especially when he doesn't get to go dick-and-balls gun.   Boba's armor doesn't fit.  That is a visual problem that is hard to ignore.   It is hard to ignore that Boba just seems outmatched and yet still feigns control.   It isn't exactly clear what his plan is going forward, and it isn't clear if he wants to take the other boss's territory (which should be after some of them betrayed him).   It also doesn't seem like he is the type to feign forgiveness and then to bide his time for a revenge strike, or to play them off each-other.
The overall arc seems inconsistent from a character development perspective.  Boba in the Mandolorian was a badass still more than capable and coupled with just Mando/Fennic they are able to kill 2 dropship loads of storm troopers.   That is an impressive feat.  Then in this one, we have Boba an aging fighter who gets tossed around a bit, battered by Kyrrstan (or whatever his name is) and nearly bested by Cad Bane.   The Boba of my youth would have wrist rocketed Cad Bane instead of trying to out draw a quickdraw artist.    Even Han Solo learned that lesson from Woody Harrelson.   Now they did try to explain away that Boba was still nursing his injuries and needed extensive time in the tank but for reasons he kept only half-assing his treatment and stretching the process out.   So that might account for some of the early issues but I believe he completed his therapy before this battle.   I just get the feeling that they are trying to make him a badass, but not overpowered but something just feels off by how it plays out.   Mando seems to be such a better balance at this.   And well the armor fits.
There seems to be no real longterm goal for some of the characters here.   Is Fennic an assassin until she dies?  Is Boba the last of the Fetts and he is just going to keep going until whenever?  Cara/Carl both changed their jobs career arcs.   Cobb has a clear goal for the future.  Mando has is Death Watch group to work with.   Boba wants to rule the planet and keep the peace.   And after he achieves this, what then?

    Good points.

I Boba Fett ends up with the Dark Sabre riding a mythasaur to become the ruler of Mandalore, this may be a small step to an awesome future season.
  9. Listening to Kevin Smiths Fatman in Batman, Marc Bernardin brought up points I struggled with early and again now that I stopped to think about it:

Why is Boba not more bad ass? He doesn’t seem to be a great tactician and he with a few exceptions, his fighting didn’t seem that impressive.

Also, Why does Boba Fett want to be leader of the Underworld? Maybe I need to watch the series again.

Was it Money? He says he has plenty of credits. He could just raid jabbas spoils and get out of town.
Is it Just because he can?
Is this his retirement plan or does he want power?

What does he want to do with the power? Make a better world for fellow bounty hunters?
Does this position allow him to prevent people from hunting Tuscans (his surrogate family)?

Did his near death experience change his moral compass and now he wants to protect the city because only he can?

I don’t think they did a good job giving me a reason to get behind Boba.

When he needed to raise an army, why not go to the Tuscans (other clans) and bring them down on the Pikes. Promise them a steady cut from the in town business especially after Cad Bane mentions who was responsible for slaughtering his old friends.

I saw how this final episode was the culmination of a Seven Samurai (magnificent seven) type of journey where everyone had a reason to get involved in turning away the bandits that are going to ruin the town, but they didn’t really show us the villagers in fear.

And what was up with Fennig leaving the fight to go slaughter people when that wasn’t a time dependent activity. They could have used her during the fight. Surely he could have called her back quicker than it took to go grab a Rancor. Then they could both go and slaughter the leaders of the clans.

How much more bad ass would Boba have been if he showed up to beat the shit out of them in that little room the same way Darth Vader tossed the resistant fighters on the ship at the end of Rogue One.

  10. This show is great at what it is. Like was already said, a little Blazing Saddles and a little Kick Ass. It hasn’t gotten old yet. Word is there is another suicide squad spin-off and not Harley Quinn. I doubt they can pull it off as well as they balance the absurd and seriousness and comedy like they have done here but I’m sure I’ll watch.

And the opening dance credits work every damn time. I had to buy that song just to add to a few playlists. Makes me smile.

  11. I have tried to love the Wilson EDC platform but have not been able to.  I bought one when they first came out and shot it a lot.  Had too many failure to feed properly so I sent it back to Wilson.  They worked on it, sent it back and I burned more ammo.  Still was having a few FTF so I sold it and moved on.  Got the itch again while sitting around in late 2020 and ordered another one from Wilson.  This one with an RMR, suppressor height sights, etc..  Very accurate gun, but had 5 FTF in first box of 50.  Super annoying.  Called Ken in customer service, who by the way is a great guy and will bend over backwards to solve an issue, and he said the platform has some tight chamber tolerances and shoot a couple more hundred rounds.  I brought five different brands/weights and let them rip.  Took pictures of every FTF and there were some from each brand.  Sent them to Ken and his advice was to send back.  Got it back a week later, took to range and had a couple FTF in the first box.  That was it for me.  Boxed it up, took it to my favorite gun store and they bought it for a little less than I paid.  This was during the peak of hysteria and they had no ammo, no guns, nothing to sell so they were willing to pay a premium  to have something in the case.
I like the idea of the EDC platform with no grip safety, 15 rounds, new rail system that allows greater reliability(?), semi custom features, etc...  I have just had bad luck it seems.  Good luck to yours and I hope it works great.
I shoot a lot and expect mine to run.  I have  Glock 19 and 30S that I carry frequently.  Clean every few thousand rounds whether they need it or not, shoot them every week and never have an issue.  I have a couple of custom 1911s that I also shoot weekly and rarely clean them.  I do keep them heavily oiled and I believe the slurry helps polish the contact points and increases reliability.  Never have an issue with either one.
I am getting the itch for the new SFX9 with flat trigger, RMR, etc...  What can I say, it's an illness.

EDC is a misnomer on this one for sure. It’s purely a range gun for me. I wanted a 9mm 1911 style target shooter with higher capacity. Your experience sucks, I hope mine smooths out. I really want to like this gun.

As for carry, no way. It’s heavy and not reliable. Perhaps the tight tolerances are to blame but very not cool. I’ll keep oiling it up and take it each range trip.

As for carry, Glock, CZ P10c or sig 938 here. Hell, I have a couple Bersas that I would carry before this one. I can count on one hand the number of FTF I’ve had with those.
  12. Both pistols are more accurate than my ability. I have a feeling I’ll burn off a big chunk of my ammo breaking these two in and working on my ability.

Right now, my favorite is the CZ shadow which I had a better range trip with.

  14. Picking up my Lupo .243 today, transfer from Macks PW thru Gunsplus in Gtown.
Looking for a stainless Colt Govt 1911 if anyone has any leads on one. 5” barrell. Plain jane

I know you said Colt, but gun warehouse had a brushed stainless Dan Wesson Valor that was really hard to leave in the store. Simple. No huge badging.
