  1. Not with Pods. They would need to add permanent crossovers because not everyone's rivals fit nicely into the same pod. Example: UGA needs to play UF and AU Bama needs to play UTn and AU One of those matchups cannot happen with pods unless you add permanent crossovers and lengthen the rotation. That's why 3-6-6 wins.
  2. I see you've been to Florida.
  3. It doesn't. That's why 3-6-6 is better than Pods.
  4. I'm not sure there is a "latest" on pods. As of the spring, the Sankey said it would be one of two models: 1-7 or 3-6. No divisions. No pods. They couldn't get the required votes for either so they made the 2024 bridge schedule. This IT piece is the only place I've seen pods brought up again, and they gave no details. Feels more like clickbait.
  5. I don't get why people still want pods. There's no advantage over a simple 3-6-6 schedule.
  6. How can you revert to something that has never been?
  7. Yeah. it's crap that they haven't done that. Had the same thing happen vs Kentucky in 2018, snapped a streak of 20 straight made field goals.

    That was fun.
  10. It's pure lowest common denominator. They have no shame. They will invent hills to die on if necessary and imagine a hill if they can't create one.
  11. You have already learned the most important lesson: Avoid and ignore secrant's existence unless it's right after a win.
  12. I haven't seen the P12 bylaws but it seems that most conferences have language that basically makes those who have already begun the process of leaving the conference as non-voting members for voting situations that involve future membership etc. as they are now "non interested" members.
  13. I don't even fully understand it. It had something to do with NCAA tournament payouts to the conference and who gets it if/when teams leave. Not sure what the gap/delay is between tournaments and the payout. Found a piece about it by Mr. Wilner. https://sports360az.com/2023/08/pac-12-finances-estimating-the-ncaa-tournament-cash-available-for-the-remaining-schools/

  15. What happens to stuff like NCAA Tournament credits when a conference folds?
  16. That and the ability to rack up titles because there are only a dozen schools to compete with. Though that's nothing new, just new in the south. The B1G and Pac12 lived off of winning titles in sports where only 20 other schools compete.
  17. I guess it was just the board for UNC. I thought they shared a board and that's why they were lockstep, but maybe not. Sounds like NCState did the flip.
  18. So how did we get from the UNC Board saying they didn't want to expand to then voting to expand in a matter of hours? Did someone else flip their vote or did UNC/NCState flip their vote against the wishes of the board?
  19. We played Michigan in Dallas in 2017. That's why the trivia bit was reworded to "road game" so that one wouldn't count.
  20. It's not really shocking when you consider that we played FSU every year, and Miami a handful of times. Those road games don't count since they are in-state. And neither do neutral site games like vs Michigan in Dallas in 2017. Edit: see that this was already stated.
  21. Maybe you just aren't searching on the right site.
  22. UNC had an an active shooter situation today. Not much info out yet. But tonight's ACC call has understandably been postponed.
  23. Maybe it depended on the school? Most had some sort of beanie hat that freshman were supposed to wear. I'm not sure how or when it was specifically a sailor hat unless he did it because it was easier to put the school's lettering on? I know Albert has a beanie with a bill. He never had a sailor hat as far as I know.
  24. I forgot, not only did he do all the sailor hats, but in some cases he just resold the same mascot to different schools.
