What blows my mind is that the Stalions guy hasn't just been outright fired. That no one on staff has been suspended. Michigan is coming across as pretty brazen while this builds.

I believe they suspended Stalions as soon as this became public.

It's a bye week for them, so couldn't they easily have suspended some others and just not made it public?

Nah I was thinking of Tulsa, just not remembering right (again...Bourbon).

I think the deal was that everyone around here made a big deal about it at the time because they were briefly in the same conference, but I guess they never played? Or maybe Tulsa joined C-USA right after Army left? I can't keep track.. feels like Tulsa was jumping conferences every couple of years there for a while.... WAC, C-USA, Big East, AAC, etc.

You're thinking of Navy. They've played Tulsa each of the last 10 years because Navy was in the west division for some reason. They don't play this year because no more divisions.

    You cracked the code!

Am I nuts or didn’t Army used to be in AAC? Or was it Conference USA? I remember them playing Tulsa regularly for a while…

They were CUSA 1998-2004 before returning to Independent status.

Though they have only played Tulsa once, in 2007.

Watching the five stages of grief play out in real time in twitter is really entertaining when it’s not your team falling apart.

It's wild to see that even in this day and age of instant information, there are still plenty of Michigan fans stuck on last Thursday.

Nothing to see here guys. Apparently this was all a big conspiracy set in motion by ohio state. This from one of the owners of MgoBlog.

You guys may think, I am delusional but this is next level.

I appreciate that bothering to actually read the NCAA rules is considered a "weird interpretation"

I guess it is a good think he was developing a "good" manifesto instead of some detrimental type shit.

Let's not jump to conclusions yet...

It’s weird because Stapleton has been mentioned for a few days and mgoblog keeps scrubbing any mention of him.

Now that the patron Saint John I bacon has reported it will be interesting to see if they keep scrubbing mentions of him.

Yeah it’s weird. They apparently have no connection to Stapleton but because the original mention of him came from a “banned source” (yes those are a thing on mgoblog and there are like a dozen of them) Yoder they kept scrubbing

Are they known to scrub doxxing posts?

I know some forums are worried about liability for stuff like that.

If someone comes to you and says “hey I have been studying film and I have figured out these tendencies” and it works. Do you go back and ask to review all of the film that they reviewed ? No you give ‘em an atta boy and tell them to keep it coming.

I mean yes, Harbaugh could be that stupid.

He did, after all, submit a receipt for reimbursement for illegal recruiting.

But this isn't some sort of loophole. The NCAA has a shit ton of rules specifically regarding this, about what a head coach should know.

Bring back Body Shaping and Strong Man competitions and cut back the talking heads and they can make that up quickly.

They really lost their way when they stopped broadcasting professional inline hockey from the backlot of MGM Studios.

More stupid Wilner shit.  Kliavcoff said USC and UCLA had relinquished their board position.  That is not an opinion on whether they needed to.  It is factual.  They quit coming.

Later he said the members need to decide how to interpret the bylaws.  Again, he wasn't taking an opinion.  He was staying neutral.

Wilner is reading stuff he wants to in it, just like he has been for the last couple years.

No, he stated that USC and UCLA were no longer along the member institutions represented on the board. He didn't say they relinquished their positions. There is a direct quote in the story you were responding to and everything.

And they also made it perfectly clear with Colorado... also a direct quote the article.

The next day, Pac-12 general counsel Scott Petersmeyer sent Colorado’s legal officer a letter that included the following:

“Chancellor DiStefano provided CU’s written notice of withdrawal to Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff on July 27, 2023. Under Section CB 2-3 of the Pac-12’s Constitution and Bylaws, Chancellor DiStefano and CU’s representation on the Pac-12’s Board of Directors automatically ceases effective immediately, and CU no longer has the right to vote on any matter before the Board.”
