  1. Touched 93mph on the last batter.
  2. Topped out at 92mph, I think.
  3. Getting our wish...Witt on in relief in a blowout. No pressure, just sling it and let's see what he's got.
  4. Poor PB, having to follow up Flores with his own .142 batting average.
  5. Flores is like "Nobody's on base. I'm bored. Might swing at some balls this AB."
  6. Upcoming schedule is a gauntlet. LSU Vandy Texas A&M Tech We're going to find out a lot about this team over the next 10 days.
  7. Gaspy's got a pretty good eye and lays off that outside breaking ball that always looks so tasty. Inside heat still gets by him, but as he continues to tighten up that swing, he's going to be unreal. He's got long arms to begin with and the outer half of the plate allows him to get away with the longish swing. For an opposing pitcher to throw him anything on the outside half is malpractice.
  8. Crazy how our catcher gets a fastball on his glove side but can't come close to throwing out the runner while their guy didn't even know the runner was going and still damn near threw out our guy.
  9. That FB Flores took yard was the same pitch as the 1-0 fastball he took. Thank goodness the catcher gave him another shot at it. Worked out in our favor on that one.
  10. The old "take until he throws you a strike" meant he watched belt high cheese and got stuck having to chase what the pitcher threw him. I get the mindset on taking, but you've gotta be aggressive early IMO.
  11. I get working the count and all that, but if I'm Flores, I'm sitting dead red and swinging out of my shoes on the first pitch.
  12. Unfortunately, SJ coach got smart. This guy's stuff doesn't look like it has much bite either though, so I'm still feeling good about our bats.
  13. Safe, but can't overturn it based on that.
  14. Our saving grace in this game is the SJ pitcher throwing straight darts and we're hitting him hard, just right at people. He has no movement at all on his fastball and we're going to score some runs unless SJ's coach gets smart and pulls him first. We just need to hold SJ to about 5 or 6 and I think we'll be okay.
  15. Harrison comes running in from the bullpen, talking shit to himself like he's got Tourette's, gets teed off on his first pitch, then throws one over the catcher's head. Maybe he needs to chill the F out a little bit.
  16. O'Dowd is coming off it, trying to play hero ball. Gasparino's swing looked nice and compact there. Inside out, drove it opposite field. He keeps that up, he's gonna be dangerous.
  17. "He may have been shielded by the umpire and Grubbs...and also he's just not very good."
  18. We're making good contact, just hitting it right at 'em. Sticking with the above. This will be a fun game to watch.
  19. Not a lot of run on this nerd's fastball. Pretty flat/straight. We should tee off on him.
  20. That just means he'll come out throwing darts against us and our bats will be cold. 😀
  21. His swing is a little long, which you can get away with against off speed stuff but not against the heater (can actually help, sort of, against off speed since your bat lollygags through the zone). They'll continue to pound the fastball until he shortens up. If I were an opposing pitcher, I probably wouldn't throw a breaking ball or change up until he proved me wrong.
  22. I know he "retired" suddenly a few weeks ago for "personal reasons", but do we know what the actual reasons are?
