Just don't be like my MIL, who is visiting us right now. Every fucking store we go in, she feels the need to tell everyone she talks to that she's from Texas. We can't figure out why she does that.
Funny enough, a conversation I had with a couple from Denver said this very thing. They said a lot of people they meet who are from Texas will without asking tell them they are from Texas. They said it's like talking to vegans. Within the first 2 mins of talking to vegans, vegans will tell you that they are vegans.
Just tell her that everyone she tells that to now hates her, and by association you. 😁

This is why I saw I'm from Austin, and not Texas. They hate me a little less.

Speaking of Eldora, looks like in a more positive development that it's going to be bought by the nearby town Nederland in an effort to keep it under more local control. We drove up there on a whim while there and it's beautiful, just kept going until the pavement turned to dirt and the dirt ran out, went for a hike, and then wandered our way back through the mountain roads.
We spent last July in Coal Creek area, just outside of Golden Gate St park. We did many hikes around Eldora and Nederland. During that month, we saw too many moose to count.
There was a heat wave for much of the month we were there. Every weekend, 72 from Arvada and 119 from Boulder were packed with cars from Denver going to the mountains to escape the heat. We saw so many younger families with kids and toddlers in the cars and on the trails. It was pretty cool to see.
If I had it to do over again, I would've raised my kids in Colorado. That state is f'ing awesome. I do understand their disdain for Texans.

Eldora Mountain is only 40 mins from Boulder. It's a no frills, small local ski area.
There's a reason that you hardly see any obese people in Colorado. The ones you see are usually tourists from Texas. The area, weather, and sports options begs you to be outside year round. Skiing, boarding, cross country skiing in winter. Spring, summer and fall begs you to be outside hiking in the mountains.

Dload and subscribe to AllTrails app on your phone. It's a GREAT hiking app which is crowd sourced with detailed reviews and pictures.
I started hiking more because of AllTrails. Find some easy to moderate hikes with 4.5 stars and above. You can filter by distance. Usually if there's decent elevation gain on the hike, it's because it's well worth the views. Just make sure you start heading down the moutain by noon. Afternoon storms are not something to fuck with.
Re hiking. I always look at the one way distance and the elevation gain. If it's 1000 ft elevation gain per mile, it's a moderate to hard hike, depending on how fit you are. > 1000 ft per mile is a very hard hike. For water, it's usually take a bottle (larger Costco water bottle) per 1.5 miles per person. You'll drink more on the uphill and less on the downhill. Bring a bottle or two more just in case. And bring snacks. Lastly, depending on elevation, pack a light pullover because it will prob be chilly at the top.

Mount Princeton Hot Spring
Feed the chipmunks at St Elmo, it's a ghost town (your kids will love this)
You can do St Elmo's and Princeton Hot springs in the same day as they are down the road from each other
Twin Lakes
Drive up to Twin Lakes to "hike" to the old hotel. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/twin-lakes-reservoir-and-interlaken-via-colorado-trail
Twin Lakes - Mount Elbert South Trail. You don't need to go to the top (15 miles up and back). 2 Miles from the trail head is a group of 3 large beaver ponds/lakes. The beavers are very active at the ponds/lakes. You'll see all the fallen trees and many that they've started gnawing on. Great short hike with beautiful scenery and cool beaver stuff to see. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mount-elbert-east-ridge-trail
The trail is actually called Bartlett Gulch. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/bartlett-gulch/photos
White water raft the Arkansas
There are many outfitters. It's safe. We took our two girls when they were 5 and 6. They sat in the middle of the raft.

Would love to hear thoughts and suggestions.
Going up end of July early August for a week. Thinking Crested Butte, Beaver Creek, RMNP (Estes Park/Grand Lake) or a combination of two of these. Family of 4, son 19, about to go back for fall camp (football) and daughter, 18, about to go to UT.
We will do light/moderate hiking, son and I will fish. Otherwise, we want a great place to hang when not doing those things. Read through the thread and it has been helpful and much appreciated.

This is a rather unique was to delay a flight.

Man Sucked Into Airplane Engine
Witness: 'He threw himself against the aircraft's engines'
According to what has been ascertained so far, the victim would have voluntarily entered the operational area of the airport with the intent of taking his own life.
The man, who was neither a passenger nor an airport employee, reportedly reached the runway by evading security checks and running towards the already moving aircraft.
The police, who had noticed his movements, were unable to stop him in time.
"We saw this gentleman running away from the stewards, at first he threw himself against the casings, the protections of the right engine of the plane, then he went around and either threw himself or was sucked into the impeller of the left engine: so what happened happened". One of the witnesses of what happened this morning at Orio al Serio airport is still shaken, where a thirty-five-year-old was sucked into the engine of an aircraft and died. Whether it was a voluntary act "I don't know" he added. The person who saw what happened was boarding the plane next to him. "We were trying to go up the stairs and we saw everything" he says. A story that can only be raw. The passengers then remained on the plane while the firefighters and police arrived. About fifty minutes in which they were explained what was happening before being made to get off because their flight was cancelled. "We got off, we got our bags and now we are here" he concluded.

Not sure on Ream, but Pochettino seems to trust him and the rest of the options are nothing special. Schulte is a wild guess.
Yea, the team which played in this cup looked nothing like this lineup. That's why I'm not losing sleep over losing to Mexico. There were the better team yesterday.
If the above lineup lost to Mexico yesterday, I'd be worried.

Some of the bigger names skipped playing. What did we send out? Our B- / C team? What did Mexico send out?

$9.95
It's flat because it's esentially a creek bed for when the creek floods, which is what creeks do when it torrentially rains upstream. In the past, people avoided putting anything permanent in these areas. Now it's premium real estate.
And that's how we got here.

Streamflows in the 2K-5K range tend to move the lake by inches. It takes streamflows in the 20K+ range like we saw on Saturday, to move it by multiple feet, especially the closer we get to 680. It has substantially tapered off since its peak 2 days ago despite some heavy rains yesterday.
But, there's still quite a bit of rain out there. It would be great to see LT hit 660 or even greater, as a result of all of this. It's gone up 1/10th just in the time we've been discussing it this morning.

Murdered by a 'Rolex ripper' outside famous restaurant in broad daylight: Masked mugger fatally stabs man who 'tried to fight back' outside five-star hotel in Knightsbridge
A masked mugger attempted to snatch a pedestrian's gold watch before stabbing him to death in front of his partner outside a high-end London casino when he fought back, witnesses told MailOnline today.
The murder victim, 24, died in broad daylight outside the £1,650-a-night 5-star Park Tower Hotel and Casino, which is directly across the road from the Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge.
The stabbing took place at around 9.30pm last night in Seville Street, which is also close to Harrods, a host of luxury stores and Hyde Park. The Park Tower Hotel and Casino is also next door to Nusr-Et, the steakhouse run by celebrity chef Salt Bae.
Police are hunting for the killer but have not made any arrests.
Witnesses believe the tragedy was related to an attempted watch theft and the murder came hours after London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan promised a police blitz on crime in the capital, including knife crime.
A worker at a luxury hotel near the murder scene said: 'I was working there last night. My secretary told me a masked man tried to rob his watch. It was a couple. But the guy pulled out his hand and he took out his knife and stabbed him.
'The couple were walking along the pavement and he tried to fight back but the guy took the knife and stabbed him in the chest.
'The police chased the guy but I don't think they caught him. I saw a little bit of the CCTV. I saw the man lying out on the pavement, a woman was supporting him and crying. There was a lot of blood. He was wearing a white or cream coloured t-shirt. He was unconscious. '
The worker said they believed the attacker was on an e-scooter but an American tourist said they thought the killer was on a bike and that they had been warned by friends not to wear any expensive jewellery while walking in London.
