Hopefully Switzerland can get a win. Serbia is an underrated team that plays a similar style to the Swiss, so I expect either a low scoring draw or a 1-0 Swiss win.

Every World Cup’s knockout stage since 1986 (when it was expanded to a 16 team bracket) has featured at least one African team. 2014 was the first to feature two. I think the streak continues this year and Senegal seems like the best candidate since they supposedly have a good defense.

suisse look much better than prior editions. and still lucky to be down only 1.
Yeah, I think this one is done though. They don’t play well when they’re down and actually forced to create something on offense.

I’m nervous about this match for Switzerland. It feels like one where Brazil will have 65% possession and twice the amount of shots on target, but I hope I’m wrong.

Can anybody shed some light on why Ms. Knight left Bama?
I know this probably wasn’t her fault, but Bama finished with its lowest class ranking ever under Saban (and one of its lowest averages too) for 2018–the only class she helped with there. I wonder if she was pushed out of there.

Old Brew really knows how to crop a pic.

That's what cracks me up the most about aggy insisting that they are going to finish with the highest ranking. Alabama has 15 commits, and 14 of them (with the exception of the kicker) are rated inside the top 300 nationally. aggy has 16 recruits, with 9 of them ranked OUTSIDE of the top 300.
I don't even think they'll finish top 7. Their class isn't that good.Yeah, aggy will likely finish 8-10 in the rankings. Bama, OU, Ohio State, Georgia, and FSU will likely finish ahead of them. Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, us, Penn State, aggy, Auburn, USC, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Oregon, and maybe Miss St./South Carolina/Washington/Florida will compete for spots 6-16. Of course some teams have likely sub ranges within that range, but that’s too much to get into now. Also, I have no idea which of these teams are taking smaller classes, so there’s additional fluidity there.

Alabama lands 4* S DeMarcco Hellams. He was considered a Clemson lean, so it was unexpected. Bama will probably maintain the #1 spot in the composite when it’s all said and done.
-
Mississippi State ties it up 3-3.
-
The aggy composite average is now 13th, if you include Stanford that is (they only have 2 commits).
-
#10 is Zach Calzada. I think #2 is Chase Lane.

Wow. They beat out Buffalo, Indiana, and UAB for the 1286th ranked prospect in the country. Very impressive.
Don’t you realize they took him right out of FSU’s backyard? Power. Moves.

OLB Tarian Lee Jr commits to aggy.

Unrelated to the DL, but I think Phil Longo of Ole Miss would be a great OC here. He’s done well with their personnel and he has ties to the state from his time at Sam Houston as their OC.

As I've said before, get Giles a recruiter closer to "coach" DEs and watch out. Find the Jason Washington of DE coaches.
Excellent recruiters and coaches are hard to come by. Those guys usually become head coaches.
South Carolina’s Lance Thompson is a veteran DL coach and has done very well there so far. I’m not sure if he’d take the same position at another school unless things go downhill there since he has deep ties to the state.

I've encountered him on other boards. Actually a reasonable guy.
Yeah he’s one of the few level-headed Ags out there.

The only Indian A&M grads I've met were those who wanted to do engineering but couldn't get into Cockrell.
I doubt you’ve met him, but don’t forget about stringsays on Twitter.

How do you finish 1 or 2 in a year in which half the class looks like it is all sourdough or rye? Are they going to buy 20 thugs at the end and have a 35 player class that wins on sheer volume. Bizarre.
Does anyone know how many they’re probably going to take this cycle?

So 20 miles then.
Unrelated, but I don’t know how you survive living in Collie Station. I had to go there for a graduation ceremony a few weeks ago, and it was awful.

My first thought, actually. Gotta be 30 miles from here, minimum.

Switzerland. It’s disappointing how much Shaqiri has regressed early in his career, but I still like their chances of at least getting to the knockout round.

SIAP, but this Dennis Dodd article from 2002 highlighting how Fran was a game-changer for aggy is hilarious. It’s strange though because it comes across like Looch wrote it.

I’m so proud of the Swiss and of Shaqiri for finally showing up.
