Wonder if the committee would have the guts to leave out Alabama if they win next weekend but FSU, Washington, and Michigan finish undefeated conference champs and Texas wins the big 12.  Almost feel that is the best scenario for Texas.  Head to head is part of the criteria.  No amount of twisting and turning could justify putting in Alabama over Texas or undefeated P5 conference champions.

I don’t agree with what I’m about to say, but I’ll make the counter case—-

the head to head criteria only comes into play if the teams are closely matched. If Bama beats Georgia, the committee will say Bama is so much better than Texas, that they won’t invoke that piece of criteria. Bama would be #2-3 compared to #6-7 Texas.

It’s total bullshit, but unfortunately for us that’s how they’ll justify ignoring the h2h.

  2. All the people quoting “the committee has never done X” are missing one critically important distinction: this is the last fucking committee for the 4-team playoff. Any new precedent they set is irrelevant to the future integrity of an already bullshit system. Fuckery will be turned up to an 11 if there’s multiple one loss teams to sort through and agendas and power will be flexed. Anything can be justified because the consequences of doing something controversial are minimal in the long run.

  3. If I’m being honest with myself, Elko is the best possible outcome for aggy after last night’s fiasco. Good on them for figuring it out.

on the bright side, aggy was becoming dangerously close to being self aware. This should reset their delusion. Don’t get me wrong, all aggy tears are delicious. But the ones lacking self awareness are the most delish.

Promoting the DL coach and making him keep the staff over an OC and a DC who were both HCs..   That’s just a recipe for cohesion, accountability and cooperation among that staff.

I think they should hire Robinson to an interim role, fire Bjork and hire a real AD who can hire their own guy next year.   By then things might settle down and headlines move elsewhere, and they can move toward finding a good HC without the spotlight in their face…. But they won’t because they are Aggies.

They really think they can make a run next year because their star class will all be in their contract seasons, even though nearly half that class has portaled out and they have glaring holes all around the roster, and no depth outside the DL.   They need a full reset to unfuck what Fisher did to the program and it’s painful to endure, we know.   I mean, trade 1 Walter Nolan for 2 good tackles and a center, there’s a start.

Best case scenario is they offer Robinson a one year interim deal...then someone comes along and offers him a real multi-year head coach contract. Sounds too good to be true, but with aggy anything is possible. (Except championships of course)

Best case for who? Why would ERobinson ever take a one year deal?

Pretty sure when aggy poached Elko from ND as their d coordinator, the exact same headline was released about him staying in south bend. And then he ended up fleecing aggy for more money.

not sure if that is what is happening here again. But either way, it’s still fucking hilarious to watch play out.

The other thing is I don't understand why everyone thinks Georgia is in no matter what. Their best win is at home over Ole Miss. Their non-conference schedule is a joke. They aren't getting the benefit of the doubt if they lose next week. (they probably beat Bama regardless so this is likely moot)

They are a 2-time defending champion that has won something crazy like 45 out of their last 46 games. Yes, each season is different, but would be hard to leave them out.
Look, no one knows for certain what the committee will do… but as a Texas fan that has watched our possible avenues to the CFP get slimmer each week as we get chalky results, I personally think the bama beating uga scenario makes it even harder. No one knows for certain though because humans are involved, and anyone saying otherwise is just your typical message board tough guy.

  7. If the rumors about bjork going rogue are true, that level of self sabotage must mean he is also tired of aggy’s shit and intentionally trying to get fired himself. For his sake (and ours lulz too) I really hope he has the same guaranteed buyout contract language as jimbo.
I also don’t see how any non-desperate coach takes a job with uncertainty at the AD role. What a giant glorious mess.

Holy shit, he was just extended?
I honestly thought based on his record that Kentucky was gonna fire him so aggy got him on a deal for him to save face… sorta like the deal that Shaka got with Marquette. But I guess that’s not the case. Wow.
