sadly there is a huge chunk of the population who loves them -- white nationalists, religious crazies, every Republican (almost), Jews.

Don't forget, you ain't a real Southerner if you don't love Israel , Jesus, and Toby Keith.

    Please tell me you're joking.

First-I really appreciate all info. Thanks very much!

Update- last week, I disputed the issue to the bank, and reported to the local police and the post office. I am supposed to get a call from a police officer and a postal inspector in the next couple of days.

I have a new account number with the bank. There was a second issue, of a low three figure e-charge made to Verizon, for a customer that doesn’t share my surname, and Wells Fargo reversed that in short order (why did they even pay it? Why do they not automatically flag the account?). They said my dispute on the check could take 10 business days to resolve. They are in for one hell of an argument, and legal action, if they don’t resolve it in my favor.

So, I will be paying bills online now. Question- why are checks printed with the routing number and account number? Before this incident, I thought that was a risk; now I realize that it’s an absolute offering to lazy thieves.

Not saying this will happen but definitely prepare yourself in the event the merchant disputes your claims. This happened to my wife a few years ago. Her credit card was charged ~$1000 for airline tickets from California to Australia then Australia to China. The merchant told the bank they had proof a physical card was used and because her card wasn't reported stolen (we still had the physical card so it was never stolen) it wasn't their issue. We had to write the merchant a strongly worded letter that pretty much said "we didn't do this purchase and you know it, we'll gladly spend thousands in court to prove it, and we'll make sure you pay our legal fees and travel expenses". Merchant gave up the appeal.

  3. Has a craft BBQ joint ever done a move + expanded hours without experiencing a decline in quality? I've never seen it in DFW. It's almost the kiss of death.

  4. It's chickenshit to arrest someone for a particular crime and then charge them for something completely different as is the case with the Fox cameraman. Why do we as a society tolerate the qualified immunity defense?

  5. Do yall have any recommendations for morning protein shakes? Do you recommend eating breakfast at all? My sleep doctor recommended intermittent fasting but it turns out I already do that. From 7pm to noon the next day I don't eat or drink anything besides water. So far it hasn't done much to bring me back into the 220s.

The shingles vaccine talk reminded to share this little nugget.  Came down with zombie eye (just one) a few weeks ago.  Got in to se an opthamologist and was diagnosed with uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye).  Doc asked if I had ever had chicken pox, cold sores or shingles.  D -  All of the above.  So, they suspect that this is yet another iteration of the herpes zoster poking up its ugly head.  Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drops and Valtrex started.  Went away in a little less than a week.  Doc suggested I keep taking a lower dose of Valtrex for 3 months to try to knock the herpes as far back in the nooks and crannies as possible, but eventually, we will get to do something along these lines again.

Oh, and I have had the modern shingles vaccine, so yay?

  7. Has the AAS editorial board always been unhinged? I'm not a big Ken Paxton fan but I don't get this....

    Quote

Paxton also gives bungee-level elasticity to the phrase “violent crime.” Under the new rule, the definition of violent crime is extended – but is not limited – to nonviolent offenses such as robbery, burglary, theft and automobile theft. “It’s a grotesque redefinition of violent crime to include nonviolent crime. Theft is associated with young people and the unhoused. It’s what you arrest kids for on the corner to teach them a lesson,” Kathy Mitchell, a senior advisor to the nonprofit Equity Action, told the editorial board. Counting these offenses as violent crimes, Mitchell said, will make for eye-popping statistics – which Paxton then can handily blame on DAs.

Since when has robbery been a "nonviolent" offense?

My personal liability umbrella policy has tripled in 3 years. Paid less than $1k for $3M coverage in 2020. Renewal for same coverage this year is $3400.  I am told there are only two carriers writing policies in Fl for personal liability umbrella.

Are you seeing similar is Texas?

    Damn I pay $200 for $1M coverage.

It's $31/lb after the price cut? Jesus, what was it before? I've never been there based off the general tone of this thread regarding Heim so I have no fucking clue.

It was $31/lb before the "price cut". Heim is just full of shit
