DougO, that SG has been teasing me too and I’m not even an SG guy. Well done.
Hulla, sorry I never got back to you on the ASAT and Vox. Are they still available? And the ASAT in the Tweet is stunning. Damn. -
Lat just gave up Supper Hole...
Little Rock’s Gravel would be an awesome band name. -
Is that an excuse? Put your white hat on and man up.
I wish it was an excuse. But since I’ve actually been sick it’s more of a reason. Kinda like rules versus guidelines... -
Get out of my mind, jj. Hah.
Agreed, Mojo. Playing with others who are more advanced certainly helps as well. The greatest leap I’ve ever taken was with a dude that could’ve played for anyone but is likely still in his living room getting stoned, smoking cigarettes, drinking Pepsi and playing Dimeola/Return to Forever note for note. -
Yeah, Mojo, it seems I learned CAGED by default when I taught myself how to play by ear many years ago. It was certainly helpful in getting to a reasonably advanced point but it was limiting after that. I’ve had several friends who are way more talented than myself, including a guy with an MA in music (guitar), tell me to abandon a lot of the thought processes i developed in order to advance further in theory. I appreciate the input, man.

I’m too limited in both knowledge of complex/advanced chord forms and vocal range not to use a capo. It makes up for a lot of deficiencies and allows me to be significantly more expressive than I would otherwise.

Bogey, I’m not a PRS hater. Just not the biggest fan. I prefer my guitars plain and functional. Not unlike some of the women I’ve been saddled with...

He is in Atlanta. Guitar has rarely been played. Also, I'm getting the info on exactly which amp that is.
Thanks, man. I’ll have a decision later. My son still wants an acoustic but those are tempting additions to my stockpile. Particularly the git. I’ll PM if interested. -
I’ve communicated with Xminus6 and informed him that I had a few working ideas and illustrations but I’ve been sick as a dog since that correspondence. I’ll try to get them finished out a bit from the pencils either tonight or tomorrow. Great work, everyone.
-
Somebody learn me on that amp. I LOVE Vox tubes but I’ve heard mixed reviews on the modelers. I’m thinking buy it and either give it to my son or give him another guitar and my little Fender Mustang II modeler.
If the info is in the amp thread, please be so kind as to point the way.

God bless Barbara Bush. She epitomized motherhood and grace to the very end. My sympathies to Presidents Bush and the entire family.
Rest well, First Lady. -
Well, he’s wearing a red argyle sweater, tan trousers and red shoes... Hmmm? No, he’s not retarded!
-
I told my kids back when they announced it that if they were smart it would have a Wild West/Firefly vibe. I’m getting that vibe for sure. In.

Grandioso, if it’s Star or Barry’s leave that ax alone. Them are good people.
I know that intersection quite well. Didn’t have the rainbows back then. Feel free to repost CM’s JPEG at y’all’s discretion.

Probably 10 surrounding counties as well.
Two counties removed in Grayson.

Fine actor. Finer man. I’m very saddened to hear this. Heaven will be whipped into shape in no time if anyone’s been allowed to slack off.
Rest well, Gunny. Enjoy your final reward. -
Totally agree, Chad.
Holy shit. TIL Bogey is Magnum, PI. -
I saw Willie play a headless Steinberger live at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas back when he thought the IRS might take Trigger.
Wow. That sounds like something for the “That’s Just Wrong” thread. -
That’s a damn fine quiver, dcbc. I covet most and wouldn’t turn any one of those down. Even the PRS. I don’t care what AUTF says. Heh.
-
I can’t recall ever seeing a post ‘70’s photo of Willie playing something other than Trigger.
-
That’s one angry dolphin.
Bogey,

No more excuses... heh. -
I love Kevin. No homo.

Chuy looks like a chupacabra all wet like that. Chuycabra. Maybe you need to keep her gelled up.
-
Well, it’s early, folks, but I think Glen may have won the thread.

Bogey, that’s a mid-late 60’s short scale EB O, little sister to the long-scale twin-pickup EB 3 made popular by Jack Bruce, among others. I’d guess late 60’s by the tailpiece. That “Mudbucker” pickup is dirty and growling. Solid mahogany body. I had a long-scale walnut ‘72-‘73 in that same cherry finish back in the day that was given to me. It was stolen. I’d kill to still have it. Super cool old bass.
