I was up a few weeks ago and ate at the Lucky Pig in Ogden. The food was very good, but eating in Ogden would certainly be dependent on where Wally is traveling from to go to Ames. I was headed from west of Carroll to Boone on 30 that day.
Yep, for that matter des moines is going to have a bunch of great options too and is only about 40 min south of Ames.- 1

As said above, Provisions will be a good choice, though on gameday I am sure it will be super-crowded.
I like Whatcha Smokin' BBQ in Luther. It's 14 miles from the stadium, so should be less crowded on gameday, or it was when I went in 2019. The only vegan option there would be salad, but I mean vegans get what they get. The BBQ is pretty decent central-Texas style.
Yep, reservations if you can get them at provisions.
I was gonna say Whatcha Smokin BBQ as well but didn't know how far you were wanting to drive and the whole vegan thing, it's definitely pretty good though.- 1

The Cafe in North Ames or Provisions close to the stadium would probably be your best bets for vegan options.
But yeah....throwing something in the microwave for that person is clearly the move.- 1

Went and looked on a few pages and saw 19 sold for between 800-1000 depending on group in the last few weeks. 20 GTS is definitely going for more though. Bourbon is wild

Trying to get an idea on how much a 2019 GTS is going for. A friend of a friend called me up last week wanting to buy mine (Got it in 2020) He'd read there wasnt going to be any this year, and was looking. I'm not even sure I want to part with it...
I could be wrong but after that announcement of no gts this year I was thinking National prices jumped up to $1000 or more… -
Daughter left, former mistress rightI figured the picture of his daughter at Clemson from a mistress would have shown up by now here. It's up on the SC 247 board and apparently it was a poorly kept secret all these years.- 1

Unintentional humblebrag ha, the good stuff is on the bourbon barrel barPretty respectable lineup. -
Inspired me to grab a little taste of my open bottleOESQ is probably my favorite Four Roses recipe thus far. Damn good stuff. -
I really really hope so but I can't see it.I think you guys will land in the Big 10. To be honest, it’s a perfect fit. I can’t see who else they would. Kansas and yall.
I’m drinking some sweet 1910
I did pour a nice Weller full proof pick tonight, so I got that going for me.- 1

I'm drinking a whole lot and hoping for a safe landing spot....I'm in sadness stageWhat's everybody drinking if/when we join the SEC? My apologies ISUCyclones you seem like a good dude.
I think it's BTAC or Four Rose Limited Edition worthy.
On topic: I ran down to Buffalo trace yesterday, grabbed a couple blantons, and said hi to Freddie.- 2

Darn, I'll probably try to stop at a few places and get some smoke wagon then and hit up a few places along the way to breckHonestly, not much that is unique on the shelves in Denver. I find better stuff in the mountains. Pricing will be closer to secondary, though. -
I'll definitely hit that store up.
If you’re staying near the airport, DIA Liquor Warehouse has always been good to me on stuff I don’t always see at home. MSRP pricing. You can google the other nearby ones, but they’re all markup spots.

I'll be grabbing a smoke wagon u/u if I see it, I can decide if I like it. Worst case I give most of it to the rest of the family. -
Never actually had smoke wagon, we don't really get it here in ky. I did want to try itgot a friend in carbondale/basalt right now. been sending me pictures of shelves packed 8 deep with smoke wagon small batch and u/u. should be able to stock up if thats your jam. -
Ok Surly brain trust, I know there has been talk of bourbon finding in Denver. I'm flying into Denver on Saturday evening, staying out by the airport, have all of Sunday to mess around in Denver before meeting some family in Breckenridge to stay for 5 days there.
Where is a good spot to grab a few bottles in Denver (or along the way to Breckenridge) to drink up in the mountains? Doesn't have to be super rare stuff, a bottle of blantons would blow their mind I'm sure.

Barrel strength - hell yes on all recipes pretty muchSo what's the consensus on Four Roses? Costco has several different ones. What's worth buying for drinking straight?
Single barrel - I'm a fan at Costco pricing
Small batch - pretty solid
Small batch select - I feel like there are better options at that price but still pretty solid and doubt you would be disappointed
Yellow label - meh- 3

Yeah I was mostly joking, good list there though with some things you don't see all that often. It’s ok price. Maybe some other time. I’m having a flight of the Buffalo Trace Kosher whiskeys.
I wanted to hate them because I can’t get them, but my goodness. Two thumbs up for Kosher Wheat and Kosher Rye. -
Grab a pour of that M20

That guy sucks

So I entered the lottery for the belle meade honey thinking why the fuck not, I won't win anyway.
Got an email saying I won this morning. I definitely didn't have a trip to Nashville in the cards for before August 21, definite bourbon problems.- 1

Trip to Las Vegas may be in order
-
I was referring to barrel bourbon, but now I'm all confused anyway
-
Isn't around 97 msrp? That's what I see it at everywhere too and I'm not in Texas
How’d you get it at 50% off MSRP and can you get any more?? -
No issues on multiple versions of roku with HBO max

Happy Halloween surly, had people over, so instead of something good, they of course all wanted a pour of Blankertons. Saves the good stuff for me
