Do any of you have history with SAP and/or Net Suite? My background is accounting and I’ve most recently been at the assistant controller level. Im currently in a job search and seeing a lot of companies wanting NetSuite or Sap experience which I don’t have. I’ve seen NetSuite’s training program and am considering it, but not sure if it gives access to a sandbox type environment.

I’m even considering a transition to implementation type role if I can find something that would be willing to provide training.

Any advice is appreciated

I’ve beed using Netsuite since about 2008 as a Controller for a handful of different companies. Yes, there is a sanbox environment if the company pays for it which most do. What else would you like to know. It used to be a wonderful product (developed by heavy hitters that left Oracle back in the early 2000. Kicked ass and started taking a pretty good market share and Oracle buys them out and has totally Oracleized the service but still remains a pretty good product in my eyes.

Are you looking to stay on the Accounting side or looking into getting into Netsuite sales? I considered it a couple times in my career but never had the guts to take the leap to a commission based income.

Thanks. I’m hoping to maybe get some training or exposure to add to my resume while I’m searching for a new role

Not necessarily looking at sales but maybe some sort of consulting or implementation type role. Since I have the experience and understand system needs or desires from an end user standpoint, I feel like it could serve as an advantage in helping get others set up.

SAP will mostly be found in larger enterprise type customers whereas netsuite will be found more often in SMB space. I would think about what size company you prefer to work at as in my experience there is minimal overlap between products.

Here we go again. Last year was my best sales year in 30 years.

After 33 years in sales, I got of the game and retired. Glad to get out with another increased quota.

Go kill it again this year.
