Instead of a fine, how about 10 hours of community service for each violation?  I would love to see the dotard wearing an orange jump suit picking up trash along the Hudson River.

No, I don't.  As I have stated above I feel incredibly sorry for Alec's situation.  Nobody deserves to be harangued like he is in this video, I was surprised he was holding it together because he has generally demonstrated he has a temper.  Ending didn't shock me, but surprised me a bit.

I think Alec is generally an asshole and I don't agree with his politics.  He is a very good actor and I have liked a lot of his performances.

Apologies for not knowing your position better. I agree.

It's difficult to know what that final second means. Did Baldwin just brush aside the phone or physically slap the asshole persecuting him?

This fat fuck (Cheung, not the orange one) has never made a comment that wasn't some bullshit like this. If this is all he can say, the "journalists" need to stop quoting him.

    That's a great point.

it's such a fucking dumb thing to bring up considering they went 1-9, were lucky nobody died, had their quarterback break 4 bones in his back (he did not go to the hospital), lost to everyone they could even consider a rival and had the only losing season Bear Bryant ever had.

Bryant himself said he shouldn't have done it, and it was a mistake to do so.

I just can’t imagine if he has a big year in 25-26 and is a projected top 10 pick (he will be if he has any type of big year) that he turns that down to come back to Texas for another year.

But again.  I hope you’re right.

VY wished that he had. He only left early because he thought his hometown team was going to draft him.

Now that you can make great money playing college ball, why rush into the NFL? The life of a good college player is better than that of an NFL player.

Would someone pay off an extorter who was completely lying about an incident? It's possible to create a scenario where this would occur but it's far more likely to believe the opposite.

You need to read the brilliant defense opening more closely. Stormy used opportunism. She's an opportunist.

Gerry/Vogel comments on recruiting (from a couple of streams over the last two days):

    - Three silent commits; one may go public soon, others 2 - 3 weeks

    - Bill Norton great visit (sounds like he's the silent?); (in another stream, he said he would be very surprised if Norton didn't join Texas;  was referring to "when Texas will announce ...")

    - Jay Toia really really good visit;  his bro was offered, too

    - Domanic Williams coming in Tue/Wed, from OU visit

    - If Texas lands Norton and Toia, we are a Domanic Williams away from "really shoring up the d-line"

    - If Swanson leaves, we're evidently 1 under the limit

    - Kelshaun Johnson great visit as well (came with Mom, family members); favorite; great Sark meeting

    - Riley Pettijohn - great spot (similar to the above)

    - James Simon - good visit

    - John Turntine ('26 5*) - best upside soph prospect in Texas; Texas in a good spot;  sis transferring to Texas

    - Nick Brooks (OT from Iowa) - GA #1, Texas moved up to #2; left with wide eyes;  will see if GA locks him down, else Texas visit in June

    - Jaime Ffrench, see if GA closes out, else visiting USC ...

    Also, really liked Savea's play

On a separate note, saw this on the Ohio State site (from April 11), re: Lockett.  May be a function of their chances with ph-ph-ph.

I guess the weekend was a disaster. I see no "really rolled out the red carpet," "blown away," or "hit it out of the park."

Evidently, we didn't even give anyone something to thing about.

Again, I'm a layperson, but I do know how to put together a rational argument. I think the assertion that Trump is influencing the statement is a sound one. If these are good lawyers, I'd be shocked if they created this statement in a vacuum.

Trump's basic defense against any accusation is to call the accuser a "never-Trumper." He's a never-Bidener, should we discount everything he says? I see strong Trump influence on that tack. I don't see myself using that as an argument. The "very popular tv show" also sounds like a Trump phrase as he is obsessed with ratings and lying about them.

Stormy made a life off these communications? She used "pure opportunism" to get Trump to fork over 6 figures? Huh? She's made money since on this story, so she must be evil. I still don't think that holds much sway in a trial. Who wouldn't cash in?

    * I love this last sentence. She knew nothing about the actual crimes alleged here. Well, Blanche, she can confirm she got paid off and anything she may have witnessed indicating why.

Two things from the defense presentation jump out at this layperson.

The choice of cloaked in innocence is odd to me. It suggests that though not innocent himself, Trump has a cloak of innocence protecting him. The idea of a cloak is most often associated with secrecy and deceit. Contrast it to, "He is innocent through and through." The usage just leapt out at me as a strange word choice for a carefully conceived presentation.

Second, the idea that evidence is too old to be valid made me laugh. I imagine a criminal appeal where the lawyer's argument is, "My client should be released! His signed confession is more than ten years old. You can't seriously consider that to be evidence!"

We vastly overstate the readiness and capabilities of the Chinese military or any foe really.  I heard about how battle hardened the Iraqi's were when I was in High School from my history teacher.   His comments later were about how he didn't know about the new equipment the military had but really he didn't understand the reliance upon conscripts by the Iraqi's vs. our volunteer military who were professionals and better equipped.

Don't fall for the propaganda like Ted Cruz did when comparing a fake russian military video with ours where we celebrated the military as a diverse career building organization.   China engaged in skirmishes with India where they were clubbing each other.   India isn't exactly our ally, but they are definitely not China's.

    Thanks for the response.

I was swayed by the extensive reporting of how formidable the Iraqi army would likely be. They'd had combat experience and we hadn't been in anything a conventional battle with another nation in decades. I recall persons like me being scorned (you're not doing that) for not thinking the US would easily win the invasion. It's was like I was a bad fan of my team.

My response was always, "What? Did you think I had my own intelligence service working in Iraq?" I just knew what I read in several news outlets. Amusingly, one of the things to worry about was to be Iraq's airforce. They flew to Iran to hide. A bad sign for Iraquis.

I don't think I'm swayed by Ted Cruz (how dare you!). China is a big country that develops some of is own war technology. There are a lot of them. If we get involved, I'm concerned about the survival of our surface fleet. I'm concerned about the number aircraft China has in the area. I'm concerned about their esprit d' corps.

In their yard, it would be extremely difficult, in my opinion. And look how right I was about Iraq!

It Lindsey Graham, he is trying to play politics by thanking Trump for the aid package with the hope that he will take credit and continue on the path if he is elected again.    Don't read too much more into it than that.

I think that's generous on your part. I don't see a subtle nudge from a pitiful minion shaking Trump's fealty to Putin. I think Lindsay wants to make sure he has a spot if the fascists win out. Trying to stay of the proscription lists.

China has the next best stealth aircraft after the US and its allies. I would not underestimate that portion of their military.

Or any part of their military. Was the NVA (North Vietnamese Army) the last disciplined and determined force we met in the field? That was 50 years ago.

China is well-equipped and trained as far as I know. There would be nothing easy or inevitable about fighting them. We get into to trouble thinking things will be easy and our enemies are not as brave as we are.

Taiwan is similar in training and determination. It would be a nasty, bloody fight. If it expands to a US-China conflict...fuck, I don't know.

I absolutely support aid to Ukraine with pretty much no restriction on their use. Just because we've been pretty bad at this in the past doesn't mean you can't make a good decision in the present. They're bleeding the Russians white. The Russians are a clear enemy of the US.
