  1. Welp, here we go, the team to me that epitomizes all that was ever right (and wrong) about the big 12 as a conference. The Kansas Stare Wildcats. They play out in the middle of nowhere. Nobody, nationally, has ever given a shit about them, and nobody ever will. Their mascot looks so second rate that most high schools in Texas would be embarrassed to trot it out. Because of their status as a basically grown up junior college in the sticks, Bill Synder made hay recruiting actual functionally illiterate mercenaries doing hard time in the plains, and brought them to Kansas State to terrorize campus, the entire concept of higher education, and opposing schools. They have had runs of high quality where they were national contenders. They have hired really good coaches a couple times that made them a tough out. Somehow, Ron Prince ran their program into the dirt and they still beat us a couple times. For a while they were our only conference mate to have an all time winning record against us which was galling, but now that we’ve beaten them 6 times in a row we probably own the overall series record, though I can’t be bothered enough to go and look it up. I will, like 98% of college football fans, never spend another second thinking about KState or watching anything associated with them after we separate from their glorified JUCO ass, but congrats to them on becoming almost relevant a couple different times nationally during the Big 12 era, I guess. Now take the loss to make 7 in a row and fuck right off Also- RIP fatty fat fat. Hope you are enjoying that great juco in the sky man.

  2. game of the year for our horns. win and everything is still in front of them. lose and no cfp, likely no conference championship, and a possibility that the wheels may fall off for the remainder of the season. i expect an intense slugfest. hope we can come out on top.

  3. There has to be something personality wise you don't like about Quinn, because you are off the rails about this one. Maybe the Southlake doucheyness? Everyone wants to see Murph successful, but he did nothing that Quinn hasn't done. He rifled a slant pass to AD that was impressive. The throw to AD deep was late. The throw that Sanders high-pointed and held onto through contact is the same throw he dropped and got picked off from QE during the OU game that would've been a TD. Tonite BYU loaded the box to stop the running game. QE gets those defensive looks and he throws for 350. We get the same defensive and special teams performance and we score 50. MM is going to be good down the road but he has a lot of work to do. Right now I just want the young fella to take care of the ball and make a couple "you better respect the passing game" throws when asked to. He can most definitely do that.

  4. I’m pretty sure Venables had our calls, it’s been talked about on here. That’s tough to lay at Quinn’s feet if the fucking defense knew what play was coming. Their DB’s ran the routes with our wr’s a bunch of times that game. I’m not saying Quinn can’t be criticized, he’s a millionaire dollar qb and with that comes scrutiny but he didn’t tell majors/Conner/Campbell to not be able to hold their ground 3 times from the 1 lol. He didn’t have shit to do with Jerrin Thompson not catching that fucking ball in the end zone or keilan’s dumbass running into the punter. He went 19/19 at one point man. He balled, after he shit the bed. It takes a bad mother fucker to regain composure after getting their mouth bloodied in the RRS. In fact, Texas hasn’t had a qb that was capable of that in a long, long time.

  6. Tap in? Okay, I’ll take the points. Im not talking shit. Im calling it like I see it, and frankly everyone I know sees it the same way, but Surly sees it differently. Your obnoxious take is a guy that is 6-1 with 13 TDs and 3 INTs with a 164 rating and literally the highest ranked recruit ever should be scrapped in the midst of a 7-1 season because you saw a few things you liked out of a complete project. That sentiment prevails here. Im prob getting negged because I’m not providing the requisite preambles here that I understand MM is a redshirt freshman, etc. I understand that. This isn’t last year. We have a chance to win the conference champ and cannot wait on MM to develop. I understand this isn’t his fault but your hot take is particularly ridiculous.

  7. First time in program history we have scored 30+ points in 8 games straight, we are 7-1 with two of the highest rated QB’s ever on our roster, all American OL at multiple spots and we just won 35-6 with our backup QB. You want to fire him lulz. This weekend has been the hall of fame of stupid fucking posts. I just read that worthy should benched for not catching passes…now that Malik is in… but it apparently was all Quinn’s fault before lulz. Keep ‘em coming

  10. Look, a single thread celebrating our biggest rival's loss to a historically non-celebrated team is a strong and positive moment as a college football fan. If you exist to piss in people's cheerios for that, go cheer for a boring corporate NFL franchise.

  11. OU needs to always lose. Losing to a terrible 5-7 Charlie Strong team in 2015 didn’t stop a 1 loss Big 12 champion OU from the playoffs. Fuck OU forever and ever.

  14. Acho played in 48 games during his 4-year career at Texas, including 26 starts. As a senior, he was consensus first-team All-Big 12 linebacker (Coaches, AP, Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram). He won the 2010 Arthur Ashe Award, was named to the 2011 AFCA Good Works Team, and was a three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection. He was also a finalist for the 2011 Lott Trophy for college football's Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year, Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and Wuerffel Trophy. He led his team in tackles in 2011 and, over his 4-year career, recorded 278 tackles (159 solo), 41 TFL, eight sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two INTs, 13 PBU and 26 pressures.

  29. I don't get paid millions to coach, but I kinda of understand the philosophy behind this. "Sometimes the best way to get rid of any of the jitters that a guy might have is let him go play," Sarkisian said. "When I was a quarterback, my first time I went out there, give me some throws. Don't make me wait until it's third-and-9 and now I have to throw it to try to make a play." https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38767542/texas-maalik-murphy-makes-most-start-ailing-quinn-ewers

I was waiting for a good time for one and watching all of the predictable bullshit permeate throughout the board already for this game tells me it is. I swear to God a great deal of you idiots do not watch other games.

  37. I'm a Sark fan, but passing up a FG there (twice) was just monumentally stupid. Objective number one: Win. The. Game. The math says those three points are very meaningful. If a FG takes you from an 11-point lead to an 14-point lead, then it's still a 2-score game, and I suppose you can argue going for the TD. But the lead was 15 points, and tacking on a FG is *HUGE* right there. It makes it a 3-score game with less than a quarter to play. Failing to punch it in (shocker) also totally energized the BYU sidelines and their fans. If BYU had gotten lucky on those possessions and hit a deep jump ball, or if our DB fell down - or whatever - then they would have been kicking off in a 1-score game with ALL the pressure on our offense. Yes, we were the better team, and we got a couple of late scores and pulled away at the end of the game. That doesn't make those decisions less stupid. There's a time to let your nuts hang. There's also a time to take the FG and kickoff with a 3-score lead.

  40. Just spectacular New clearer look at “one of the greatest destructions of Russian columns filmed from start to finish” Or as the Kyiv Post put it today: “Russian Armored Column Attacks Near Avdiivka, Immediately Flees in Face of Devastating Ukrainian Fire” The ToBeOr_Official channel did an epic play-by-play of the brilliant artillery and aerial recon work of the 🇺🇦 31st, 110th, 116th and Presidential Brigades, which I posted about a few days ago (and got mentioned in two Kyiv Post stories 😎) ⬇️ My translation (this is for the entire astonishing four-minute video of the column demilitarization I’ll add in the thread) 🔥The assault begins. A Russian column of armored vehicles advances across a field covered with frost. Everything is according to science: there is a mine trawl ahead… it paves the way for equipment through the minefield 0:32. The first artillery strikes are made on the column. 0:41. The first unit of equipment is burning, the third in the column. 0:47. The fifth unit also smokes, but the column continues to move. 0:55. Before reaching the forest belt, the mine trawl leading the column begins to turn around. 1:02. The column is divided into two parts. The first six cars continue moving. The seventh is hit and loses speed. A traffic jam forms behind it. 1:08. The third unit finally loses speed. Only the mine trawl and the vehicle following it manage to turn around and continue moving. The fourth unit goes around the third. The sixth one goes around the fifth one that has lost its speed. Cars making a turn try to fire at the forest belt. 1:26. Massive fire damage is inflicted on the tail of the column. The cars are no longer trying to get to the turning point of the trawl and the path it laid. They’re trying to turn around wherever they happened to get to. 1:44. Apparently there was a tie-up. In this frame we see how four vehicles from the tail of the column still manage to turn around and leave the battlefield. Three cars are less fortunate; they are hit and immobilized. 1:59. The retreating vehicles are hit. Here you can see there are five of them, and the first one is smoking. 2:03. Strike on the third of the five retreating vehicles. It stops. The two cars behind are trying to go around it. 2:07. The Ukrainian forces finish off one of the three vehicles from the column that did not have time to turn around. 2:36. Another series of finishing strikes, including cluster munitions. 2:55. Zooming in, we can see that three units of equipment in front of the column are smoking, the fourth is simply immobilized. 2:59. Tail of the column. The personnel of the Russian Armed Forces abandon the damaged equipment. What happens next is without comment. One of the greatest destructions of Russian columns filmed from start to finish. This is just one of several videos from near Avdiivka that have appeared today
