Hey we actually played a reverse pass correctly
-
I've used mine to do side-by-side tastings of several bottles with only two or three drinkers. We did this a lot during the covid shutdown (luckily Total Wine and Specs were considered critical businesses); we'd buy 8 or 10 bottles of new stuff we hadn't tried, then use the coravin to pour a tasting of each having fun doing the comparison. I also found that most of these bottles were still good weeks or months after doing a single pouring with the coravin. Other than that, I haven't found much use for it. Even if you're the type that drinks one or two glasses with dinner and have a half bottle left over, just put the cork back in it and it'll usually be fine the next day, although you could use your coravin here as well. I just don't think it's worth it for your average everyday drinker.

Pretty sure it’s the most I’ve ever paid for a bottle (over $300 nearly 20 years ago).It will be memorable whenever you decide to open it

How was the Bonneau? I think I have a single bottle of that and one of the other bottlings (can't recall if it's cuvee especial or not).
This was one of the Celestins bottles that he only makes in special vintages. I’ve had a couple of others before and this one didn’t disappoint (they’ve all been spectacular). It was the best of the three we had including the Sabon Secrets de Sabon. Just a fantastic wine and definitely worth the money. Save the one you have for a special occasion.

Posting this separately as I do need some advice. I told my dad if they would visit me, I would treat him to steak. In the past, I have taken him to Peter Luger. He has had the steak frites at Balthazar and the Cote de Boeuf at Frenchette.
This time, I am thinking either Keens or Gage & Tollner. Keens is classic. However, Gage & Tollner just made the Times 50.

I have not been to either, so I am interested in feedback.
Right now, we have a reservation for Keens, but I can easily get a reservation for Gage & Tollner (they only do 28 days out).
I just had the Wagyu Omakase menu at Cote and it was fantastic. It’s not traditional but I would highly recommend it. It’s also a fun, laid back atmosphere and has a star. Just something to consider.

Love Atera, especially at the bar. Great week there for you.

He didn't even opt out bro. His teammates and coaches kicked him off the team.
Actually there’s more to it than that…. Coach asked the captains to vote, and they voted to bring him back. Coach overruled them. So I think there’s something else going on but no doubt the players wanted him back.

Couple of things. Soliciting sex is illegal in this country. Not in other states or countries, etc. You can argue its morality, if its truly consensual (is it unlike porn? etc) and while embarrassing is redeemable in this day and age.
Documenting your racism, homophobia, and hatred for bosses in email - no employee comes back from that. The precedent for owners is Donald Sterling. It’s documenting your vileness and evil. Rather than weakness (sex).
Likely if you had an employee that did the exact same thing Gruden did and publicly, you’d run him off. And you’d be less likely to attempt to kick out a partner for getting busted for soliciting sex.
Gruden’s downfall is just not part of the debate on censorship in sports and media. Not if you had some balls. Otherwise you’d apologize for him, say he’s learned, and you’re behind him and his current character, and everyone makes mistakes. And then you move on like it didn’t happen. Because, honestly, it affected no one.

Jesus, this is beautiful.
What makes it so beautiful is when you watch it on the replay, the 220 lb blitzing linebacker completely obliterates the right guard and knocks him five yards backward, landing on his ass while at the same time the DT puts a spin move on the center, Foster, that leaves him whiffing and grabbing at air. Complete and total domination of the interior of the aggy line by MSU on the most critical play of the game.

Really good breakdown of some of the key plays from the game

Well, the last one before last night.
Remember, I moved back up here in August of 2019. I was traveling a lot for work and just didn't get around to going in that 7 months before COVID hit. Then COVID hit. So for the last 18 months, no Broadway. Will be making up time this Spring.
On my list to see are Hadestown, Moulin Rouge, Six, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Diana. Six and Diana, my friend worked on the costumes.
Obviously, I want to see the Music Man. Still looking at the list and decided what else to see. There are some things at the Public I am interested in.
Going to Kochi next month. Did you do the 6 or 9 course, and would you have picked the other based on your experience with the one you went with? Also, did you do the Sool pairing, and if so, do you think it was worth it over bringing a couple of bottles?

Yeah, I read some mixed reviews on some of the wine sites, mostly along the lines of, "this is a good wine, but I wouldn't pay $500 for it." I've seen it listed in the $400-$600 range. Very generous gift from my partner for a couple hours of my time, but I've never shelled out close to that for a bottle of wine.
I've had it and I agree with the assessment. It's good, but very much overpriced. With that said, that's a damn fine gift.

Thanks. It was three, but now it looks like it may just be me. I am happy to sit at a bar. And, I’ll increase the budget as needed. Know anything about Sushi Ginza Onodera, which seems to have lunch omokase options?
It's excellent, and I would definitely recommend it. However, they don't allow corkage (if that matters to you).

I'm planning an October trip and looking at some new restaurants I haven't yet tried. Any chance you've been to any of these...

That’s such a bullshit speech. His whole “My “why” is I came here to develop you as student athletes” is hollow. That was his gig at ND. You don’t drop ND to go to LSU for the challenge of “developing student athletes”. He’s there to cash in and he’s arrogant enough to think he’ll be able to compete against some of the best year over year. No surprise that LSU players aren’t buying his shit.
