  1. I'll be 42 in December, and I just started my fitness journey this year. I'm not trying to do anything crazy, I just want to establish healthier habits entering this portion of my life. This is definitely a setback, but it's not like I'm losing much to be honest. I'm in half decent shape already other than my gut, I'm just tall and lanky.
  2. I've spent the past 4 months doing all of that, and nothing has brought relief. In fact, its bothering me in everyday movements now, not only while I'm lifting. After my MRI last week, I scheduled a follow-up consultation. Instead, my doctor called me the next day and essentially told me a surgical repair was my best option at this point, considering that everything else I've tried hasn't helped. To be honest, he called while I was working, and I didn't think to ask specifically how the repair is made. The partial tear is at the "origin," where that specific tendon attaches to the elbow.
  3. I hate to quote myself and a little bit off topic, but I didnt see a thread for this... After healing from this shot, I started back slowly. After just a few weeks, I started experiencing the same pain in my arm. I shut it down, and it turns out, time does not heal injuries like this. After a recent MRI, I was diagnosed with moderate tendinopathy with low-grade partial tear of the common extensor tendon origin. I'm scheduled for surgery next week. Has anyone had this procedure? I'm curious about recovery time frame, etc. Doc says I'll be in a sling for 2 weeks and then no lifting for about 5 months. I'm just curious if y'all have any firsthand experience.
