  1. Serious question. Aggies are forever asking the philosophical question of how they are mired in mediocrity despite the level of their fan support, the available financial resources, their conference affiliation, their location in a talent- rich area, and the"best facilities" in college football.

What do they think differentiates their facilities from those at any other big- time college? The locker rooms? The weight room? The practice field? Public art? The parking lots?

What makes them think there is a bit of difference between the "facilities" there and anywhere else?

Until it happens - the inexcusable loss - winning ugly is still a win. I have zero room for error for sark the rest of the reg season this conference is that bad. But win all ugly, don’t care won them all.

Ol' ugly is better than ol' nothin'. DKR

So, this was one of the worst days of my life.
took my dad (who has a tbi and really wanted to go and was exited about it)

Got stuck in traffic- he shit his pants - I tried to clean him up in the bathroom at the parking garage we got to and there was no garbage can or paper towels, he got the shit from his diaper all over himself and his shorts, refused to go home because he wanted to go to the game- walked around with feces all over his clothes, got him in his seat- went to 4 different shops until I found a pair of sweat shorts, came back up, cleaned him up in the bathroom, threw up, he walked out naked because he got scared I left him in the stall when I said “stay here I need more paper towels”

then we got back to our seats and he said let’s go.  With 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.
the sights and smells and the like will be nightmare fuel (literally) for me that I will dream about for months and years I bet, but the worst part, by far, was seeing him just not get it and not able to handle basics in life or enjoy the game.
When we pulled into the driveway he told me sorry for ruining your day. I was like dad- you didn’t ruin anything and I love you. Man’s taken me to at least 100 games and he remembers almost none of it. And my poor mom lives this 24/7.
as bad as I guess we played I’m going to take solace in this not being the shit Sandwhich on top of a truly miserable day finishing with a loss. We are basically in survive and advance mode and although we were terrible it probably doesn’t matter. But, we probably have another loss or two coming our way, especially if Quinn is out.

You are a saint. I would love to be able to take my dad to a game regardless of the circumstance, but he died in 1989. You'll remember this day as long as you live.

Mavericks at Floore this Saturday. I've never seen them live so I'm looking forward to it. Plus it's Floore's, so venue always adds a good vibe.

How was it?  The Mavericks are a fantastic live show.

What a weird post. A texag thread from 16 years ago and an article from 21 years ago. Surely you can find much more recent examples of unfounded aggy speculation.

  6. Per the DMN, there is a $150 million renovation of the Cotton Bowl to take place over the next 2 years, with construction paused during the 2024 Fair.  Replacing the ramps inside the stadium with some other mechanisms for getting spectators to the upper sections.  This is supposed to result in increased areas of the concourse and more concession and bathroom areas.  Completion date is supposed to be before the '25 game, but '24 may be an absolute shitshow.

  7. Maybe I have an over-simplistic worldview, but it seems to me that the public risk created by  illegal business practices  -- not just the provable harm actually caused  --  is a strong factor in determining the appropriate remedy.  Business laws and regulations exist for the purpose of protecting consumers from unethical practices and to minimize potential damage to the public generally (i.e. adverse economic impacts).  We have all seen what can happen, for instance, when there is not proper oversight and enforcement of regulations in the banking industry.  Persistent, repeated failure to stay within the boundaries should result in severe sanctions.

If a lawyer misuses client trust funds, the lawyer is subject to discipline, regardless of whether the funds were later replaced.  If the lawyer does it repeatedly, disbarment is appropriate.  The privilege of having a law license has been forfeited. Even though no actual harm may have occurred, the lawyer's actions, if unchecked, have created a substantial risk of harm to the client, and to the public in general if others follow suit.

Somebody already mentioned this I guess, but it was the fake injury that stopped our momentum.   Why do we let stuff like that affect us, but we do.

Hate to disagree, but the injury was not a fake. Watch the play again. After the collision with Worthy  Bowman is clearly dazed. He got up but went back down. It had the same effect but he was legit out of it for a few seconds. That's not the guy OU wanted to leave the field.

  9. On the last drive the play calling was fine. We easily moved down the field. It all changed on the sack. Once it got to 3rd and 9 there is a difficult choice on how aggressive to be. There is a big difference between a 50+ yard FG and one from 45 or so. Main goal is to get in FG range to take the lead. And by running the ball we made OU use their last time out. It was the more conservative call, but not indefensible.

  10. On our last drive, after Worthy's catch for a first down, Bowman from OU was hurt and went down.  The clock was at 2:35.  No timeout was called, but the clock stopped for the injury.  Shouldn't the game clock have restarted as soon as the ref marked the ball ready for play?  The play clock started but the game clock did not.

One of the biggest mistakes of the entire game was snapping the ball with 20 seconds on the play clock on 3rd and 9 before the last field goal. If you are playing for a field goal there, you don't do that.

OU had called timeout.  Play clock didn't affect the game clock.
