Pretty typical for cracker jack conference leadership. Big 12 has never figured out that H2H should trump all when it comes to tiebreakers (see: 2008 Texas/OU)

Captain Obvious here to point out that 2008 wasn't a 2- way tie. There were 3 teams tied and each was 1 and 1 against the others.

I’m not trying to flex here. I didn’t exercise my right and it was stupid. My kids had off today, so went golfing and I was too tired.

I also went golfing. Walked all 18 holes. Then went straight from the course to the polling place.

For Texas to maximize our resume we need:

KU and KSU to be 9-3, so that means KSU beating KU to end the season.

OSU to be 10-2 going into the conference championship game.

    Alabama to win the SEC.

OU to be at worst 9-3, so that our loss isn't considered bad.

Wyoming finishing 9-3 would also be a nice boost, they have a big game against UNLV this weekend.

Thanks for the primer. That helps. And I'm really glad to hear I can still root for OU to lose.

  4. As a life long Cowboy fan it hurts me to say this. But the Cowboys are the NFL aggies. Pretending to be relevant. Achingly recalling championships from decades ago. Greatest "facilities". Massive and loyal fan base. Hiring a coach because he had won a Super Bowl with another team. Touting the talent level. Coming up "just a few inches short" in crucial moments.

Oh well, we'll be great next year.

The missed PI on Worthy was the first WTF moment.  That followed by the punt block completely shifted the momentum.

If the PI is called we are in FG range and probably use most of the remaining time in the half. Score at the half is 17-0 at the worst, and probably 20 or 24. It completely changed the course of the game.

Billy Sample, Jeff Burrough, Wayne Tolleson, John Matlack, Doc Medich, Rehabbed Doc Ellis formerly pitching on acid...LOL.

Let's not forget Lee Mazilli, who gave rise to one of the best local sports bon mots ever. He complained about playing left field rather than center after being traded to Texas. I think it was Randy Galloway who wrote "Lee Mazilli called left field an idiot's position -- and then went out and proved it."

  7. Serious question. Aggies are forever asking the philosophical question of how they are mired in mediocrity despite the level of their fan support, the available financial resources, their conference affiliation, their location in a talent- rich area, and the"best facilities" in college football.

What do they think differentiates their facilities from those at any other big- time college? The locker rooms? The weight room? The practice field? Public art? The parking lots?

What makes them think there is a bit of difference between the "facilities" there and anywhere else?

Until it happens - the inexcusable loss - winning ugly is still a win. I have zero room for error for sark the rest of the reg season this conference is that bad. But win all ugly, don’t care won them all.

Ol' ugly is better than ol' nothin'. DKR

So, this was one of the worst days of my life.
took my dad (who has a tbi and really wanted to go and was exited about it)

Got stuck in traffic- he shit his pants - I tried to clean him up in the bathroom at the parking garage we got to and there was no garbage can or paper towels, he got the shit from his diaper all over himself and his shorts, refused to go home because he wanted to go to the game- walked around with feces all over his clothes, got him in his seat- went to 4 different shops until I found a pair of sweat shorts, came back up, cleaned him up in the bathroom, threw up, he walked out naked because he got scared I left him in the stall when I said “stay here I need more paper towels”

then we got back to our seats and he said let’s go.  With 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.
the sights and smells and the like will be nightmare fuel (literally) for me that I will dream about for months and years I bet, but the worst part, by far, was seeing him just not get it and not able to handle basics in life or enjoy the game.
When we pulled into the driveway he told me sorry for ruining your day. I was like dad- you didn’t ruin anything and I love you. Man’s taken me to at least 100 games and he remembers almost none of it. And my poor mom lives this 24/7.
as bad as I guess we played I’m going to take solace in this not being the shit Sandwhich on top of a truly miserable day finishing with a loss. We are basically in survive and advance mode and although we were terrible it probably doesn’t matter. But, we probably have another loss or two coming our way, especially if Quinn is out.

You are a saint. I would love to be able to take my dad to a game regardless of the circumstance, but he died in 1989. You'll remember this day as long as you live.
