  1. The Ds seemingly have no desire to lead on anything.
  2. Very many big, stong men have come up to me, nearly in tears. Sir, have you heard about Google meddling in the '16 elections? I hear it just about every day.
  3. Interesting how Congress isn't even pretending like they might come back to DC after these shootings. I guess that Miller Lite at Gulf Shores is just too cold.
  4. But how am I going to fight off the 20 MS-13 members breaking into my house at night. This will be one of the arguments.
  5. You can't make this shit up https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2019/08/06/gun-violence-america-prompts-growing-list-countries-issue-travel-warnings/?noredirect=on
  6. I couldn't remember how that worked. That's a scary thought. I'm sure Turtle's better angels would prevail....
  7. That's too complicated. - John Cornyn
  8. Saw a trauma surgeon interviewed yesterday describing the damage done by the rounds fired in El Paso. Totally devastating for internal organs. I haven't seen what specific round he used. Here's what he wanted to use: https://www.thetrace.org/2019/08/el-paso-mass-shooting-8m3-ammunition/
  9. Setting up the narrative for staying in office after losing I see.
  10. ^ And also bolstered by the arguments of the 2A hawks that we need maximum saturation of guns in the population to prevent the mass shootings.
  11. We don't even seem to have debate in DC anymore. There are no hearings where there's a back and forth discussion. I'm talking about debate on weighty topics such as health care, immigration, gun regulations, etc. The Senate has basically put up a Gone Fishing sign and refused to consider much of any House legislation.
  12. So far this morning, I've seen several new red herrings. America is turning anti-gun. Guns are popular, so we can't legislate against them. Guns are a major investment tool for some people, so you can't mess with that. We love to twist ourselves in knots to justify certain things.
  13. ^ Yep.
  14. bUt HoW WilL wE pAy fOr iT?????
  15. Bill Barr? ^
  16. The more chaos there is, the more national emergencies he can declare.
  17. There were some good stories on the other site about dominoes, pitch, spades, etc.
  18. Trump is the perfect manifestation of the black, diseased heart of the R party. There is no conviction in his words, and they're just said to kill time. His word is not his bond. Any promises that he keeps are only those that serve his needs or inflict pain on the lesser humans in this world.
  19. I agree with the first part. ^ These R assholes all talk behind closed doors, and they all know each other's secrets. Some are compromised more than others. The good ones don't want to expose their friends and/or lose their position of power. No R caucus is as silent as this one has been in the face of Trump's lawlessness. There are a bunch of Rs who are knee-deep in some form of corruption and compromise. I think the House should use all the tools at their disposal. The main one that they have is impeachment. Let Trump run on being an impeached (but not convicted) incumbent. It will at the very least get every shred of information out there.
  20. Attempts on two former Presidents, and it was just another day.
  21. There's a decent chance that mass shootings will become the norm. He would love the chaos.
