I’m not familiar with NY law but most states do not require a bond or deposit  to appeal. That just prevents post judgment collection efforts on appeal.

If you think Trump has respected his corporate structures and government and not co-mingled funds I don't know what to tell you. I would bet good money piercing the corporate veil would be about as easy as trump eating a big Mac.

Odds of her actually collecting any of that $83m are about zero though, right?

What about NYS running his businesses once his licenses are forfeited. I would imagine the monitor / trustee would have an obligation to pay the judgment.

  3. if the Supremes say that a President is immune then I think Joey B should take them up on that and refuse to leave office along with Kamala refusing to count any votes cast for anyone other than Joe because what the fuck can anyone do to them as they are effectively immune from any sort of criminal prosecution so fuck all of you other branches of government. impeach? get the fuck out of here! i am an immune motherfucker who is also commander in chief of the US armed forces so i can do whatever the fuck i want from this point forward.

Okay, @Longhorn94, since I am a very pessimistic person, (being a Horns fan will do that to you) I asked ChatGPT to say why why Lake Travis could defeat Westlake this Saturday. Now I've gone from feeling low to feeling entirely hopeless:

    1. Strong Offense: If Lake Travis High School has a powerful and versatile offense with skilled players, they may be able to outscore Westlake High School.

    2. Solid Defense: A strong defense is crucial in football. If Lake Travis has a robust defensive strategy and skilled defenders, they may be able to prevent Westlake from scoring.

    3. Effective Coaching: Good coaching can make a significant difference. If Lake Travis has a well-prepared coaching staff that can make effective in-game decisions, it could give them an advantage.

    4. Home Field Advantage: Playing on their home turf can boost the morale of Lake Travis players and contribute to their overall performance.*

    5. Injury-Free Roster: If Lake Travis has a healthy and injury-free roster, they will have all their key players available for the game, giving them a better chance of success.

    6. Strategic Special Teams: Special teams play, including kick and punt returns, can swing the momentum of a game. If Lake Travis excels in this aspect, it could give them an edge.

    7. Motivation and Team Spirit: A motivated and cohesive team often performs better. If Lake Travis has a strong team spirit and motivation, it can positively impact their performance on the field.

    8. Previous Successes: If Lake Travis has a history of success against Westlake or in similar high-pressure situations, it might boost their confidence and increase their chances of winning.

    9. Adaptability: Football games can be unpredictable. If Lake Travis is good at adapting to different game situations and adjusting their strategy accordingly, they may have an advantage.

    10. Fan Support: The support of enthusiastic fans can create a positive atmosphere and energize the players. If Lake Travis has a strong fan base, it could contribute to their success on the field.

    * I forgot to mention that this is a neutral site game.

I'm telling you - you have nothing to worry about. We have no chance to stop the mighty Chaps! Y'all are a machine over there. We can't afford to keep up with y'all.

    Let the nightmare scenario commence!
LT is the last team we wanted to play.
They are really rolling and we are sleepwalking. I wouldn't be surprised if LT wins the rematch, but I am a hopeless pessimist in all aspects of life.

Yeah, no. We have 0 chance.

I can already predict our game with you. We'll trot out the same game plan that won last game, only to face an entirely different offense. I wouldn't be surprised if you win. Much would have preferred to face Vandegrift but happy for my LT friends.

Shiiiiiiiit, we have our work cut out for us next week. I don't even want to think about you guys yet. Your rb terrorizes us in our dreams and he has been doing it for 3 years!!!

As far as Lake Travis vs Johnson, I don't see how Johnson can hang with LT. Johnson won a tight game w/ a 6-5 New Braunfels school 36-31. LT has one bad loss to Dripping Springs, but that is a very good team which could make it to the semis or even finals.

LT played Westlake very tough and knocked off #4 ranked Vandegrift. I dread the idea of having to face LT in the quarterfinals, as it's hard to beat a team twice in one season.  @Longhorn94

I think we will be lucky to get past Johnson. Their QB is special. But we will give it our best.

The loss to Drip was inexcusable. I have never seen a LT team so disinterested in playing a game as that one.

Westlake and Reagan do share a common opponent: Round Rock

    Reagan beat em 35-28
    Westlake won 35-3

Westlake doesn't pack the same offensive firepower that we have in past seasons, but the defense is as salty as ever. One aspect of Westlake that makes the team so successful is the attention to special teams. They always block punts, especially in the playoffs, with key punt blocks last season against San Benito and Brennan. However, Westlake begins and ends with the offensive and defensive lines. I expect a hard-fought game with Westlake's line being the difference in the 4th quarter.

Westlake isn't strong enough to overcome North Shore or Duncanville, and we may even lose to a rejuvenated Lake Travis in the quarters. @Longhorn94

WL is the same old WL. They will make it to the semis at least. I wouldn't rule out another state title.

  9. I think Quinn was putting too much pressure on himself to start the game and he was trying to be perfect. I loved what we saw in the 4th where he said "fuck it, let's go!" and went out there and blew the doors off of Wyoming.

I'm thinking and hoping that we saw ol Quinn figure it out last night.

    So my source says

They will vote to acquit. They will do so in order to hang the 60 House Republicans out to dry who voted to impeach. They will find candidates to run against them that are loyal to Dan Patrick, and enrich the consultants that run that operation

Then why not do that last week?

    #1 Fair.

    #2 Fair.

#3 No, I get your point. I agree with you, in theory. But we're not operating in theory. We have tried it and we continue to get completely wiped off the floor. It feels like the the perpetual Charlie Brown and the football. I think it's time we played with the football without them for a little bit. when things are working better, maybe they can come back. maybe. that "side" is moving so far away from reasonable it's impossible to imagine a scenario where anything they come up with would be good for me or people I love.

Agreed. My point is we will eventually fuck it up too if we don't have the competition of ideas. But for now, they are a lost cause and need to completely reinvent their party.

I have to say I don't agree.  The way we fix America is the Democrats all show up and vote next year, along with enough moderates/independents/Republican women who want reproductive health care to blow out the Republicans forever.

Then, we codify all the civil rights we want, the decarbonization economy, etc.  Biden won't pack the court but Gavin Newson ('28 nominee) will.  The Senate ditches the filibuster and we get gun control.  In 10 years we will have reinvented America.

The right wingers will fear the Deep State for good reason, as they will be defanged and return back to the caves they hid in.

Oh I agree with you. We have to continue to kick the shit out of the trumplicans until they eventually realize he is a loser and they reinvent the GOP and hopefully the crazies go back to their parents basements.

I wasn't arguing for appeasement. I was saying for our system of govt, we need two honest good faith parties, which we clearly do not currently have
