  1. i hope he does well but am not impressed with the results. We were a top 8 team that finished in the top 8. At the very least, he met expectations with a team put together by Beard. I will give him credit for making the most of a difficult situation but how much of that was him vs 5th and 6th year players? I want the best for Texas and I hope RT is that guy but merely meeting expectations is not enough to me to give a career .500 coach the job. I hope I am wrong but just dont see it.

    Don't be namecallling!

I get the case law.  I get the end-game.  I just find it odd that four huge issues---abortion, contraception/birth control, gay marriage/LGBTQ+ stuff, and interracial marriage.  Three of these things, however backwards and twisted I find it, have a basis in religious ethos.  One does not.  Conflating them together is a very weird gambit, even for appealing to a base that has the same belief set on all four issues, even they don't necessarily compress interracial marriage into the other three despite the convenience.

it makes sense when you realize that these are white evangelicals and according to them, Jesus is white, he loves white people and he hates brown people. Duh. thus, all 4 have a basis in religious ethos.

  3. its crazy how he is a blank slate for all the MAGA folks to project their racism and hatred onto. I saw a plan II thesis presentation on the similarities of white evangelicals and trump/far right. It is crazy how Trump / far right have tailored their messaging to fit the white racist christian belief systems. No major party American candidate before him had openly courted racists nor had anyone else openly pursued racist religious beliefs in a major US party campaign. They have positioned him to be Jesus and because he is willing to support racism, they overlook that they just might be supporting the "anti-christ"

I remember reading Revelations as a child and thinking no way anyone would ever fall for the freakin anti-christ. little did i know that all he would have to do is be a racist and every white evangelical man and woman would gladly trade in Jesus for him.

  4. First, Joel did the only thing a father (type) could do.

Second, fuck those stupid doctors - lets destroy the only thing we have that might cure this?

Third, after killing every single person for trying to kill my daughter (type) i would have told her the truth.

Fourth, i would then try to find actually smart doctors and scientists that would actually try a different approach that might actually work without killing the girl. but if the girl has to die, then lets be damn sure of it and lets give her the choice. because ya know its her life and all.

and fuck TLoU for 45 minutes and even moreso for only 9 episodes. Im not keen on the second season storyline from the game so not sure how much i will pay attention to it moving forward.

  5. Watson sucks. Jackson sucks less but he is still not a QB I would want to bring in at this point. But I also think Dak, Jones, and everyone not named Mahomes, Rodgers, Allen, Burrow, or Herbert sucks.

There were zero zombies in the last episode. It was 100% human drama, terror, and violence. Aka awesome.

Right - normal walking dead, zombie movie story line - humans are more dangerous than zombies - everyone is out to kill everyone - even after 20 years. It was just blah and has been done 100x before. But I enjoyed the ending!

I was being semi-facetious, but yes, lots of hardcore/non-denominational Christian sects are strict "burial only" believers.

have they ever seen a dead body after its been buried for a while? if, according to them, jesus is digging that up after a few years or so - thats not going to be a good look for them...

First 5 episodes were amazing, last 2 were just good.

i agree. i liked the ending and it definitely delivered but the first 45 minutes or so were just normal zombie show stories and it was a bit meh.... but the ending killed!

Somebody mentioned it earlier, but really surprised he hasn't opened up some kind of Villages knock-off.  When you think about it, it's perfect - captive audience, he can be skimming off of everything from the construction to the country clubs/golf courses/restaurants to the various fees, maintenance, etc.

Then again, he'd have to come up with a shitload of money up front to get it going.   While The Villages started out as a small trailer park (mobile home), you can't get that much these days without some serious capital, and given that he could fuck up casinos and steaks, yeah....not going to happen.

Now Jared could probably get the Saudis on board...

what do you think every Trump building and golf course is?

  10. I am in the process of finishing our movie theater in our home. It is a dedicated room that is apprx 18' x 26'. I built a 136" screen. The projector is an Epson 5050uB. The 7.1 surround sound goes through Monolith THX certified in-wall speakers and a Monolith THX certified 12" ported subwoofer. We have an Oknyo 7.2 AVR  in the control room that runs everything including  a Google TV and Plex media server that is running off a HTPC. Walls and ceiling are navy blue. The carpet is navy blue swirls. Lights are covered pointing up and down. Last thing i need is the seating. We will have 3 rows of 4 seats. I will upload pics in a bit.

  11. Ukraine will win for one very simple reason: no matter how many bodies Russia throws at it, the West CANNOT allow Russia to win. The more bodies Russia throws at it, the more serious and committed everyone in the West will become to make sure Russia does not win. Lines that are currently drawn with respect to weapons and systems will no longer matter and will be provided. Russia sucks at war, their soldiers suck, their equipment and systems suck. Its just a matter of time at this point.

    1) there are a shit load of tanks all around the world sitting in warehouses in various stages that’ll need upgrading to battle readiness

    2) all things said the Abrams tank is a bad ass and probably the best choice for Ukraine

    3) it takes longer than we would wish to upgrade many of those stored tanks

    4) (this is my personal take) after all the blah blah blah there are enough tanks, ready right now, to be sent to Ukraine to help in any Russian spring offensive.  We dick around for political reasons, and because we don’t want to give up many of our current best battle-ready tanks due to the requisite delay in upgrading the ones in storage

    5) (also my take) the US has enough combat ready Abrams tanks, even if not the most modern, that if uncle Joe wanted to send a bunch right now on drawdown he sure as shit could.

Card and Notre Dame were serious as a pairing until ND tried to force the transfer before he was sure. That’s from someone who knows the family. @Longhorn94 can confirm or dispute for fact checking.

I guess you could say that Card was … late in his decision-making.

Sorry guys, I haven't had a lot of time for football stuff lately. Last I heard was that TCU was pushing hard. I was surprised by Purdue but seems like a good choice. I will see what I can find out about how it all went down after I work though this life stuff that is currently occupying most of my time.
