If it’s marked top secret by an agency, I doubt he’s going to be like “yeah, no, Israel’s nuclear arsenal isn’t classified.”

Keep in mind that this is stuff that is juicy enough that Trump wanted to steal it from the White House, so it’ll be obvious that it’s Really Fucking Secret.

so he is just checking to see if the US Govt is lying about whether the documents are marked TS or classified? seems like that should take less than 15 minutes with respect to the 100 classified documents.

  2. IMO, they are simply playing fundamental assignment football. Everyone is doing their job. The only time I saw a breakdown was on the 80 yard run when the Rover and LB waited instead of firing into their run fits. The LBs, CBs, and Safeties can tighten up their zone coverages a bit and recognize a little better when they should get in the receivers hip pocket and stay there (Watts should have stayed with the RB instead of letting him go back inside and score the TD).

    1) Fuck Bill Barr

    2) the judge is going to have to appoint someone bc no way the parties will agree, much less find, this mythical lawyer with top level clearances

    3) I don’t see how DOJ doesn’t at least appeal the part of the order enjoining the criminal investigation. Reputational harm cannot be a realistic standard to put a criminal investigation on hold indefinitely

Im not even sure the judge has the ability in a civil matter to enjoin the DOJ from pursuing a criminal investigation - separation of powers or something or other.

and i disagree with TH on the PRA issues. I believe the NARA Archivist's letter has been interpreted by everyone else other than TH to apply to all documents in Trump's possession. They didnt know what he had at the time because he concealed it and they didnt limit it to any specific set of documents or recoveries. The decision to waive privilege as to all documents that Trump stole, concealed, and refused to return has already been made. The only legitimate action for Trump to take at this point is to file suit in the DC Court to assert any alleged claims of EP.

Tell me more about young Jacob Henry. Is Texas recruiting him? Is he good enough to play on the 40 Acres?

Jacob is a great kid. Hard worker. Incredible powerlifter. Really good wrestler. Still learning at DT. with his size and strength, he should be dominating. he isn't. he stands straight up when the ball snaps and mostly leans on the OL in front of him. he often will get pushed backward. the potential is there. the work ethic is there. the desire is there. he just needs to put it all together. i think he will eventually get there and be dominant. and i think he will end up making the college he attends very happy. but they will need to be patient with him. If i were Texas, I would recruit him. I do think he will be that good. I dont think he has gotten a lot of attention yet but I expect he will this year. he is one of my son's really good friends. he is a really funny guy and one that has a lot of character, definitely a team guy.

  5. Kid #1 graduated Plan II / CS in 2020 and just got his first promotion as a software engineer at Amazon.

Kid #2 graduated Plan II / Economics in May and is in the middle of his first day at UT Law.

Kid #3 is a senior in Dean's Honors / Environmental Science, first day back at UT after spending last Spring at UCL studying abroad, and is in the process of applying to PhD programs.

Kid #4 is a sophomore in Plan II / EE and is excited to be back on campus even though he has 5 classes on Mondays...

Kid #5 is rocking it at LT and is ready to take his place at UT in a few years.

It's a word, you're not a coach (best use of this sentence ever), and this isn't a whiteboard.

Player names are in all caps on their jerseys, you gonna start doing that, too?

    damn, Huck.

  7. i will never understand Orlando's thought process with dropping Ossai. I understand Ossai was the best guy on the defensive side of the ball and he was needed everywhere, but at edge (happy huck?), he could instantly make the other 10 guys better and impact every single play in a way that dropping him never ever could. it was the worst positional deployment decision possibly of all time.

I literally hate every one of you people who capitalize every letter in edge and hope you are afflicted with the world's worst ever foot cramp the next time you're sleeping.

This is pretty scary, actually, and a super-good explanation for why we've been sucking on defense. There's arguably no more important position group on defense to have highly rated players than LB. The difference they can make is astounding.

Jordan Hicks is a good example. He had 104 tackles for us in 2014.

The most anyone has had for us the previous few years:

    2021 - Demarvion Overshown: 74
    2020 - Juwan Mitchell: 62
    2019 - Joseph Ossai: 90
    2018 - Gary Johnson: 90
    2017 - Malik Jefferson: 110
    2016 - Breckyn Hager: 65
    2015 - Jeter Jinkens: 75

Elite LBs make all the difference. We have had a lot of "coach 'em up" position coaches at LB over the years, but not elite recruiters. That has to change.

good competent LBs are essential to any good defense but they are generally the least important players in terms of impact and rarity. EDGE players are the most important and impactful, followed by CBs, then DTs, then Safeties. You can't have a great D without good LBs but you cant have a great D without a great EDGE player.

We're not basing anything on one practice, but I went to the open one last year and the open one this year. He looks like he's regressed, if anything.

i hope not because that would be even more troubling from a program perspective.

Yeah we can....give me the currently unproven in game guy over the shits himself in game guy.

We just going to repeat last year, aint we?

well, my hope, if we go with Card, would be that we would see dramatic improvement as most QBs tend to do between their 1st and 2nd years.

We aint winning with Card brother

but we can with a guy who cant beat Card for the spot?

if Sark starts Card (i am on record that I think he will start Ewers), its because he thinks Card gives the team the best chance to win now. I dont think Sark is a Card homer and no doubt he wanted Ewers to come in and win the job. so if that doesnt happen, it most likely means that Ewers isnt far enough along to take the job and Sark doesnt want to ruin him.
