Because conference tourneys are stupid. He treated them like the bullshit that they are.
Moneytime starts a week later.
I agree they are stupid, but his typical one and done ensured he will be nowhere close to Moneytime.

Our run last year got Disu going and he would have likely carried us to the FF without injury.

Yeah agree, but was going for simplicity. Nobody really talks about that as much as Final Fours anyway.
Yep. It's Titles, FFs, EEs, and SSs, not CG appearences. Maybe it meant something when they used to play the 3rd place game.

Is there a bigname safety out there?

Was it posted that lifetime Longhorn Josh Thompson signed a future's contract with the Texnas in January?

What would a package look like to move back into the first?
42, 122, and 126 for 32. Any better 1st round pick would likely cost us some combination of our 2nds and/or 3rds.

And the #3s are mostly jaggy. If they view a WR at 42 as a potential difference maker, I think that’s on the table
Both Dell and Collins missed games last year. You hope for healthy seasons, but you can't rely on WRs playing 17 games every season. The other WRs are good at their roles, but when Collins or Dell missed a game, those JAGs became worse.

Minnesota was 7-10 last year with a veteran QB. If they really use our pick to draft a QB, there is a good chance they are worse next year. This is a solid deal for the Texans. We need more youth under control for 4+ years and less veterans signed to short term deals where we are having to build depth through FA every offseason.

Someone is saying that Drew is the front-runner to go to Louisville. Wonder if Baylor brings back Tang if that happens.

They’ll sign a couple of guys with the money they didn’t spend on armstead and cobble together a rotstion, and it’ll be fine
I don’t think this necessarily means they’ll go interior DL in the first if there are better players on the board
I agree. The same thing happened last year when we brought in Rankins, Collins, and lifetime Longhorn Ridgeway.

Did he do the sexual misconduct or was it like a Jim Jordan/Joe Paterno thing where he looked the other way and didn't report stuff happening in his athletic dept?
He was covering it up. Pretty sure the AD didn't follow the Title IX guidelines.

So for those that don't follow, is Trev actually good AD?
He is currently a named defendant in a lawsuit for sexual misconduct. Football is a shitshow, basketball is OK, baseball hahaha. Women's sports are doing ok, except for the former assistant coach for women's basketball that was coercing a player into a sexual relationship.

Not sure if Houston can give the biggest offer at this point and still fill out the roster with guys they need (a safety, especially), they might need a discount
Hopefully familiarity with Demeco wins out.

Chargers just cut Mike Williams. He's older, and coming off an injured season. Probably not someone the Texans would pursue.

BYU led the whole game, but okay...
UCF gave up after that call. They had gotten it to down to a one possesion game earlier in the 2nd half. I did enjoy the excellent sportmanship of the BYU team jacking up 3's until the final possession.
-
This game completely changed with the BS flagrant one call.

Interesting. Got the 7th round pick back,

There was noise yesterday that the Texans were also interested in Chase Young. I wonder if that changes with the addition of Hunter. You have to think they are also waiting on San Francisco to official cut Armstread.
Armstead and a safety would complete this FA season and give the Texans the flexibility to draft best available in the draft.

Hahaha. Trev Alberts. Yes, hire the AD mired in a sexual misconduct lawsuit.

I think trading down in the first might be a decent option. In the 2nd round you might have Legette, Sweat/Jordan Morgan, Sainristil, Powers-Johnson/Jordan Morgan...
Yeah, if one of the QBs slipps late to the 1st, and one always does, it might best to fall back into the 2nd and pick up multiple picks. We need young depth at plenty of positions, but our Top 24 should be really good with a few more FA signings.

You can’t let a strangers or a group of strangers opinion on Rodney trigger you man.
derka is always the victim and he's the one that brought up his mental illness by threatening to kill himself because someone had the audacity to think Rick Barnes needed to be fired.

He's won 3 conference championships and a national title in the last 5 years. This year's team has kind of fallen apart due to injury, but they had some really impressive wins this year, including a pretty dominating win over Houston last month. I wouldn't write him off so soon.
He's also coming off a heart attack the previous year.

2024 NBA draft - Bronny in the top ten?

Shouldn't be an issue because no one is drafting a bad shooter with heart problems.
