If anyone is interested in an OSU booster take, one of my relatives is a mid-tier OSU booster with connections in the OSU program.

He mostly confirmed what we're all seeing and thinking, but with a little more detail.

    1) He is pessimistic and not going to Arlington for the game.

    2) OSU has been very mistake prone and he thinks this will bite them in the ass.

    3) Ewers is going to carve them up.

    4) Gordon is a beast, but TX run D is filthy. Gordon is dinged up, but nothing serious. Thinks TX defense will slow Gordon down.

    5) Bowman is wildly bipolar in his play, which infects the whole team. OSU is good when Bowman is on and awful when he's off. Thinks Bowman's play is going to determine the game.

At least he won’t have any great expectations placed on him…

Yes, the outsized expectations are just now starting for a QB born into the Manning family. 😑

He might be. However, let’s go back to the first quarter of MM playing and you’ll find people saying the same shit about him. “Do we even want Quinn coming back?” People make dumb predictions off small sample sizes all the time. Jerrod Heard was the 2nd coming of VY after the Cal game…

No silliness if it was part of the agreement with the family.

Malik wouldn’t run when things were covered. Didn’t look anywhere near as comfortable as Arch in the pocket. If you watch enough ball, you know the glimpses you saw last night. Ewers and Malik offer no RPO threat whatsoever.

I've heard at least one Surly poster say that Iowa State was that game, where we played a complete game.

Maybe not a complete game, but I felt like Sark was much more aggressive in the play-calling versus mid-season games like Houston and BYU. So many great schemed routes and calls, from Whit's 2pt conversion to Helm's drag route.

Feels like Sark was conservative in dipping into his playbook earlier in the year, doing just enough to win without committing too much to tape. Now he's ramping up his bag of tricks.

  5. I was in the student section for the Kindle demolition of Potts. Honest to god I thought his head rolled off in his helmet. The type of generational hit that Potts' grandchildren, years from now, will still feel a vague, visceral uneasiness overcome them at the sight of burnt orange.

Ewers has the best arm talent of any of the QBs in this draft. He's going to skyrocket up draft boards after the combine if he goes.

So many teams need a QB that I don't see any reason not to go pro if he's healthy. He's going to be a first round pick.

NFL arm, no doubt. His pocket presence and progressions need help. Dude still doesn’t see the field well enough to be successful on Sundays.

Michigan side is saying UT is backchanneling what Michigan to the SEC would look like after UM Regents discussed leaving B1G at a meeting next week.

Anyone here read or hear anything about that? I've seen general speculation in this thread, but nothing about UT playing a role.

What is good to see is we are winning those types of games now. Where as the past 10+ years those types of games are ones that we have lost.

The differences are much better recruiting hit percentages and roster management. Actual in-game management still seems to find this team in tight games. We’re a fucking rorshach right now.
