If I had 72 hours and I’m just looking at body of work I at least interview Vrabel. I’d pick him over Lanning. But there is so much fascination with Lanning even though DeBoer is the better HC imo. But DeBoer probably wants to stay put. I just don’t think Lanning works out and I sure as shit wouldn’t want to follow Saban. The margin for error is nil.

I don’t think it said he was fired or retired. Might have been mutual where at Pete’s age, does he want to be part of a tear down rebuild? Wouldn’t be shocked if this was his last year anything. Maybe he’ll find a mentorship role somewhere where he’s still around football but doesn’t have the pressure or travel schedule of a head coachSaid on CBS sports he has role with team at VP operations like level? I guess that’s what I read. I was busy trying to build a forcefield with my mind around Sark but it looks like it wasn’t necessary as Lanning seems to be their dude. I wouldn’t want to follow behind Saban but whatever…

To win championships now in the NFL you have to have a great offense -- just review all the newer rule changes. Pete's recent teams suck on offense. Cowturd has some valuable comments about this.
Pete was holding that shit together with Duck tape. If he’d have had the chance to draft a QB I think he’d have been fine. They barely missed the playoffs with Geno. And a dash of Mizzou guy. Plus, he always had a soft spot for drafting Longhorns even when no one else seemed to care. I appreciate him for this. Even moved up in the draft for Dickson. Damn. He’s still a great HC. Cowherd was always on the Wilson train only to find out Wilson sucks as a pocket passer. But his insight isn’t bad on most topics.

On a personal note, having lost my aunt and uncle this year (both at 72–she from Alzheimer’s and he from heart attack they would have been married 51 years this year) I hope Saban’s health concerns are minor ones. Imagine achieving all that and not being able to travel and have some fun the money you made. I can’t imagine him retiring because of how invested he was. Very few people live like he did as a coach. But he should hook up with Jimmy Johnson and Belichick and go deep sea fishing. I don’t wish health issues on anyone.

I would call up Pete and give him a two year contract. Dude is 72 but acts like early 60’s. Just my stupid opinion but recruiting would be wild. Also he knows the pro side of it. And the whole coincidence thing with Saban and Carroll. That gives you a chance to really watch the up and comers and then pounce.
I will miss Saban. Beating Bama was a barometer for your team in some ways (not all teams.) he was the standard to beat. It’s weird he didn’t set up his team for a successor I guess or have a farewell tour year. I guess that’s how he wanted it to go. I think he had a bad taste in his mouth from all the fans wanting his ass gone early this year and was like have fun with me gone you ingrate fans.

Pete got Seahawks their only SB win. And got them there twice. The hell!? People don’t appreciate great HCs. He nearly made the playoffs with Geno! He held that team together when Russ was a shell of himself. People are morons. Damn.

Man did not think he would retire this soon. He was a formidable opponent. Like slaying the dragon so to speak and glad we were able to do that once. College football is ever changing and in some ways not for the better but damn he was good. Whether you like him or respect him or not, he will be missed, except by the schools that could never beat him. Across the landscape of football there hasn’t been in the last decade a coach or a team I wanted to beat more. Damn. Stunning news. Can’t believe Seattle fired Pete Carroll today. The fuck is going on??

My seven year old and I do the 5 mile loop every Saturday morning (I run, he bikes). I guess now I get to encourage him with "you better ride faster or Machete Man will get you" when he struggles up the hills.
Man I remember that former aggy football player back in 2015 in Dallas. He had schizophrenia i think. he ran down some poor jogger on a trail with a machete. The eye witness accounts of that were something out of a horror movie. One witness said he hacked away at the victim (who died obviously) like firewood.
Geez. Why did I have to remember that? Should not have gone looking for the news articles. Damnit. Sweet dreams. Nightmare fuel.

This is the type of shit you get when your city government runs the airport, the water supply, the power supply . . .
There is nothing like ensuring the basic needs for day-to-day existence are being managed by folks incapable of being hired for a real job.
It’s how serial murderers stay off the grid. Or so I’ve read…

everyone knows you slash, not stab, with a machete. amateur hour here.
It’s too windy also. lol. But the weather watchers at the airport probably aren’t aware of how windy it is.

Nice try. I think we all know who the "obvious culprit" is.
There was a double murder in Georgetown but they caught the son who killed his parents. Cant claim that one either. lol.

how did @Nicole44 know about this attack so quickly?
I check the news. I can’t claim responsibility as I had to take my mom to the ER. She has pneumonia. Sitting in the ER is super fun. I was on a whole other side of town man.

Vrabel be great in San Diego. They have good pieces on defense. Just hire a good OC to handle the offense. It’s not a bad gig. I wouldn’t necessarily want to go back to the pats. A lot of the good beat reporters have said Bill is begging for his job. That’s desperation when you don’t even know who the QB is and bringing back Josh and Mike is all well and good but why would they want that same song and dance? Bill is just getting older and pissier.

I mean, it doesn't help our national profile that Denny Trejo still keeps a home in Austin.
He's too stealthy to get caught though. Just kidding. It’s likely a marauding band of traveling dentists 🦷. they are the real threat to downtown. It’s got to be dentists. Or hygienists. It’s a stressful profession. It’s probably what’s happening. Or anything other than the obvious culprit. Like bicycling jousters.

Lanning is out. Looks like the Kalen DeBoer stuff is picking up a lot of steam as the Bama AD covets. Fans don’t want Dabo but they’d have to accept it. Kiffin isn’t the guy imo. If Saban had a farewell tour year he’d probably have tried to get Sark to come on board. I think it’s DeBoer if DeBoer says yes.
