145 miles on a battery is not “rarely need the engine” territory imo, as an electric car driver since 2016. Electric range is much like fuel range - stated as optimum. How you accelerate, average speed, stop and go, payload, and ordinary battery degradation impact that.

all of that said, I bought Tesla twice and probably won’t again. The positives are the company forced the market to move to EVs and software and user interface is much better than other cars even without car play.

we have a Porsche macan (thanks twice horn for the rec) and an model X. There are things to not like about the Tesla X but at 7 years old it has held up remarkably well. I’ll drive it for a few more years while the traditional auto makers figure out EV drive trains but I will likely switch to Mercedes (last car before my two teslas) or another maker when the time comes.

as for recalls and cover ups, fuck all of them, right now tesla, before that VW, before that another one and before that another one. That’s capitalism for you (no CR and not a commie).

as for Elon, fuck him in his goat ass. Fucker. Piece of shit, blight on society, poster child for a wealth tax what a fucking waste.

Mercedes EVs suck coming from a tesla. They want to make it feel like an ICE, so you lose all the EV perks like get in and go, the instant torque, regen braking, and hold at stop. We test drove a ton when my wife's Tesla was totaled and she wound up in a Volvo EV, which drives great. The software on the Volvo leaves a lot to be desired, though.

So my connection got word he should get tickets if we make it.  My predicament is this:

I didn't go to the 05 Rose Bowl (06 whatever) and we won.

I went to the 09 game and we lost.

I think I have to sit this one out, if we do make it.

Am I crazy?  Probably.  Let's just beat Washington first.

Yea. You’re crazy.  You go if you have the chance.

Is there any great downside to sitting on Washington side?  I imagine it'll be at least sprinkled with plenty of orange and I don't think huskies fans are going to go all Ohio State on opposing fans.  Ive just been looking at prices with no idea which "side" they're on.

IMO outside of the school allotment, it’s going to be majority Texas fans regardless of “side”.

Hey google, tell me about Georgia and Alabama and LSU that one year.

You’re telling me that they all started winning CFP games/titles when their offenses actually produce?

Yep, let’s go get a Defensive minded coach whose last offense was shut out by Louisville!

    All of them

Tesla is pushing software updates to over 2 million vehicles in the US — or almost every Model S, Y, X, and 3 ever sold in the country — to address a defect in the company’s Autopilot system. On Monday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall notice for the vehicles following a two-year investigation into a series of collisions that occurred involving Tesla vehicles using Autopilot, which comes as standard on every new Tesla.

    • 2012–2023 Model S
    • 2016–2023 Model X
    • 2017–2023 Model 3
    • 2020–2023 Model Y

Despite being identified as a “product recall” by NHTSA, Tesla aims to fix impacted vehicles with an over-the-air software update, which it said will roll out “on or shortly after” December 12th. The update, identified as software version 2023.44.30, is being issued at no cost to customers and involves adding additional controls and alerts to prompt drivers to be in full control of the car when Autosteer is enabled. The update also limits Autosteer use “when conditions are not met for engagement,” preventing the feature from being used entirely in some case

My wife had a model Y (it was totaled when some jackass rear-ended her - kept her and the kids safe, so I'm happy with the way it performed in that accident), and I have a Rivian. Both have "auto-steer" capabilities (Rivian calls it Highway Assist) that are pretty comparable, having driven both. But the big difference is that Tesla let you use it anywhere pretty much - neighborhoods, city streets, etc., whereas Rivian's is locked an only available on controlled access highways with certain limitations (they have to have been mapped by Rivian). It seems like a no-brainer to limit it to situations that it's intended for, and very low hanging fruit.

So of course Tesla is not going to do that, I'm sure it will just be "our cameras are blinded by the sun, so you can't use auto-steer", not "you're driving in a neighborhood, you can't use auto-steer."

So, to summarize aggy's last month:

    -- Finished 7-5.

-- Had to pay 76 million dollars to fire National Champion Head Coach Jimbo Fisher.

-- Hired a coordinator to replace him.

-- Watched Texas win the Big 12.

-- Watched Texas make the playoff.

-- And now there's another butt stuff hazing incident with their Corps of Cadets.

How do you spin this, Looch, you redneck douche nozzle?

Looks like the mods were prescient to make a "prepare your anus" rep.

So there's no cap? Thats all I was asking. I get the cap can be busted and for Elon I hope it is, but isn't that a whole other ballgame?

It’s a “cap” for most people, because they aren’t going to spend the money to rebut the presumption that the guidelines are in a child’s best interest. It’s usually not worth paying someone tens of thousands of dollars in attorney fees to fight it when you won’t get that much back in extra support.

    Thank you.

I think you and I were talking about different things.

I was talking about "maximum amount of net resources" which in that code appears in a different section. I always heard the guidelines only apply to the income below the cap. Like a tax bracket almost

We aren't talking about different things. That is a reason to go about the guideline maximum for net resources. You'd still apply the percentage to whatever the net resources are above the cap. So in this case, instead of $9,200 a month, you could say his net resources are

    Austin Powers Doctor Evil GIF

and then apply the percentage to that amount of net resources.

As long as the amount of child support is below 50% of his net resources (whatever the court determines them to be), and as long as the court finds going past the guidelines is in the child's best interest, you can blow the "guideline max" child support out of the water.

But what do I know, I just do this for a living. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
