He's got the strongest team and they are all in on working for him. He's in third place, four seconds back, after today.

He certainly got off to a great start with Olav getting the stage win and team VLAB looking strong. It’s gonna be fun to watch him mix it up with Roglic and Remco.

Paris-Nice starts tomorrow. Seven stages.  I think Matteo Jorgenson stands a very good chance of winning.

It would be cool to see, but an overall win may be tough considering this field. His 2024 results have been okay. We’ll get a better look at his form soon.  I think top 5 would be a good result for Matteo.

I feel like this is what the guys who got to watch Merckx and Coppi must have felt like.

No kidding. It’s been a minute since there’s  been someone who’s a legit threat to win any road race he enters, whether it’s a one day race or stage race. There cherry on top is that he’s not a robot with a dishrag personality.  He’s funny, doesn’t take his own image too seriously, and his love to race his bike and give his all is totally genuine and undeniable. We don’t get many of his ilk.

In all fairness to Jason, who among us didn't lose our minds a bit after a divorce.

I fucking cringe when I think about what an asshole my newly-single self turned into.  Started dating a few women and I was horrible.  The wonderful woman I've been with for a decade wouldn't have spent 15 seconds with me in the immediate aftermath of my divorce.

This is true, and I’ve lived it myself. There’s something that comes over you once the yoke of a toxic relationship has been thrown off and you’re flooded with an intense sense of freedom and possibilities. It can take a minute to get your needle back to true north.

I don’t care about the veneers, the fashion choices, the Twitter scuffles, or any douchebaggery to come. Just write good songs and do right as as father for that special little girl.

We need a list of all the things they have dangled out to us in the first five episodes that will need to be resolved in the finale. Please add to or correct me if I missed some resolution/explanation.

    - Herd of caribou committing mass suicide

    - Meaning of “she’s awake”

    - Annie K’s tongue on the floor at Tsalal (still hoping that Clark was so in love with her that he tried to clone her and her clone “woke up” and became a Frankenstein’s monster of some kind)

    - How the Tsalal scientists were killed. Seems clear with the coverup story put out by Connolly and McKitterick that we’re not supposed to believe that they just froze to death, and the neat folding of the clothes exactly like Julia Navarro did can’t be just a coincidence.

    - Why the Tsalal scientists were killed. I’m assuming it’s because they were going to stop covering up the true pollution amounts for the mine. Or maybe Clark wanted them to do that because of Annie K. and when the rest of the scientists wouldn’t, he somehow killed them?

    - Ghosts? I’m prepared to accept that Navarro and her sister have hallucinations, and Navarro probably has PTSD from her time in combat (sudden flashes to her in the desert) but the idea that they both have the exact same hallucinations, including the rolling orange, seems entirely divorced from actual mental health science on schizophrenia. And what about Dead Travis leading Rose to the Tsalal scientist bodies?

    - Connections to Season 1. Looking like all of it is just internet fan service Easter eggs. Tuttle United was just a head fake for the real power behind it, the evil mine. Travis Kohle being Rust’s dad? I’ll be surprised if they ever go back to it. The spiral symbols? Are they really going to just dismiss them as a native warning for thin ice? After they’ve been appearing all over the place, nowhere near ice?

    - Darwin’s drawing of the woman with her hands cut off that was apparently a native legend told to him by his grandmother? Probably just another red herring  but what’s the point then?

    - The hostile native guy from the hunting camp who disappeared when they came back the second time. What happened to him? Or did I miss an explanation?

    Any others?

Don’t forget explaining the significance of the mystical one-eyed polar bear.

This is so bad. I’ll watch to the end out of fascinated curiosity to see just how shitty, lazy, or contrived the finale will be.

He's a fat nerd that lost weight, got famous, but still has that fat boy insecurity snark.  Also, a great guitar player, capable lyricist, but underneath it all, probably amazingly insecure.

A great guitar player, but only a “capable”lyricist? That’s like saying Earl Campbell was a great teammate and a capable running back.

I noticed something about the lighter was different but unaware that was a giveaway.

Between the other tells like the writing and the overly enthusiastic singing of the anthem, they likely had him pegged as an infiltrator. That’s why they specially asked him for a light. The final nail in the coffin. I like that they present the clues, but don’t beat you over the with it. It’s nice to have to pay attention.

They did. Watch it again and look at how he wrote the date and his handwriting. Both were giveaways that he wasn't American. I believe he also used a wrong word when singing the Star Spangled Banner.

And the lighter was the final verification right before they executed him. Americans used Zippo lighters, not the German or Austrian type “Bob” was carrying.

Not a huge surprise after seeing the tension between them in the doc.

I wonder if Amanda’s substance use was part of this.  She had a weed pen or a wine glass in damn near every scene of the HBO doc.

I’m not saying she has a substance use problem, but rather that it would be difficult IMO to be completely sober while living with someone who isn’t.  Jason has hinted at it lyrically (It Gets Easier).

Since it is reported that Jason was the one who filed for divorce, you would naturally expect that he found something untenable in her behavior, fidelity, support/emotional ability, etc. And yeah, after the HBO doc and hints in lyrics on both of their records, it’s not a complete shock. Hope the dude stays sober & healthy.

  10. I’ve never been someone to actually give a shit about the relationships and marriages of entertainers and other celebrities, but this news hurts my heart. I love both of them as artists, and Amanda was a vital support in Jason’s sobriety and recovery. There seemed to be something really pure, and I’m sure there was. One of the things that sucks about relationships is that they all have expiration dates. We just don’t get to know that date or type of expiration. I’ve said the serious part, so here’s the Surly part: It was probably because of the new choppers.

  11. Very disgusting and disappointing. I love San Marcos and have some close friends who are SWT/TxSt alums, so I was pretty excited to follow the Bobcats this past season and see them do well. I was hoping to stay on their bandwagon, but goddamn Kinne, that’s a bad choice and very bad look.

  12. Sounds like plenty of witnesses are confirming that some spectators were throwing beer and urine, so catching some spit is getting off light IMO. Sounds like a crap day for Wout, but those guys will be battling in the cyclocross and spring road races.
