  1. +200 to get fired must mean that they’re going to use the Weigmann concussion thing as “cause”.  No way they’re planning on paying out $80M.

Alternatively, they may fire him without cause and claim sovereign immunity since they have experience in that department.

  2. I’m very interested to learn more about how they caught him once the charging documents are unsealed. They said years ago that they thought the suspect likely had strong ties to Delphi, which has a population of only 3,000. It’s possible they were looking at him as a suspect for a long time but didn’t have strong enough evidence for the arrest until now.

Yea but but but they stacked the box!!! We don’t pay sark to figure out how to counter what a team does. Really it’s just not fair. They were being mean to sark and loaded the box!!

It seems like Sark is excellent at scheming for an opponent’s defense when he has all week to study film and come up with a plan. See the 1H TD to Worthy where we used motion and then reversal at the snap to punish their aggressiveness and get him completely wide open for a walk in TD.

But once the defense adjusts at half he is like a deer in the headlights. Just kneels down with his play card and makes notes while we run exactly what the defensive coordinator is trying to force us into.

We may need a “special assistant to the HC” on the offensive side of the ball to help make adjustments at half. Not sure Sark’s ego would allow it though.

Really believe that these early picks have he (and his QB coach who has his entire fucking future leveraged on this one player) paralyzing the one thing that sets Ewers apart.

He's taken the sound advice of 'just throw it away and live for another play' WAY too far.

He's going to throw it to the wrong colored jersey, probably 1.5 times a game when he's a 'finished product'

But all of the spectacular shit that only cats like that can do is being 'coached' right out of him.

He's not Brad Johnson or Rich Gannon 'game manager'

He's "high ceiling" talent that comes with a price, kinda like Mack needing to let Vince Young just play fucking football when it became just too obvious that his 'coaches' were  only fucking up his chance at success.

I don't believe this is a permanent problem, I'm not as convinced that "Sark is an idiot" as many on here are.....disappointing for sure, but I believe he's self aware enough to look at what's happening and adjust that.  I wouldn't expect to see Card, tho.   Sark has his entire salary, resume, mortgage, legacy and prospects riding on Ewers' right arm.

His cool demeaner will be as important as his God given arm talent when this is all said and done because right now his coach has him reigned in way too tight.

No doubt this sucks out loud right now.

Oh, and the other wideouts not wearing #4 giving a fuck would help as well.   Where are these Alabama transfers?

Jahleel Billingsley actually played a pretty good game. Made a couple of really nice blocks, had at least 1 reception, and was open on a couple more where Quinn sailed it 10 yards over his head.

I knew we were in for a bad time with officiating after we announced we were leaving but still had to play a couple years in the conference. I didn’t know it would be this egregious though.

The defense, despite injuries to Watts and Cook, is a major catalyst as why the game was lost. We played one solid quarter of defense. We can’t stop dick on 3rd down. Our pass rush is nonexistent unless we blitz, tackling is still a major issue, and frankly we’re a dumb defensive unit. Of the 14 penalties that were called on us, 3 were offensive penalties? We can’t cover anybody down the field without interference, or at least make enough contact to draw an iffy flag.

When we made it 31-17 with 3:30 minutes left in he first half, they went 85 yds on 4 plays in roughly 1 minute. It consisted of a 23 yd completion, a 53 yd run (where instead tackling the guy we’re running with him the last 20 yds trying to dislodge the ball), a PI that sets them up at the 2yd line, ending with a walk in 2 yd TD.

Look, I get that the offense was atrocious in the second half. No argument here, but the defense was at the very least, equally as bad throughout the entire game.

I cringe when we reach 3rd and 8+ because I just know they’re going to complete a pass beyond the sticks while our LB/secondary play zone 15 yards downfield.

  7. I would have loved to see more quick screens to WR in the second half when they were selling out to stop the run. I can’t remember if it was the 2Q or 3Q when we gained 30 yards on the pass to Brennan Thompson but I do know we never tried it again after that play. Get the ball into your athlete’s hands in space and force the defender to make a tackle. Whittington is a blocking machine on the edge. Also, it might settle your QB down a little bit to complete some easy throws.

  8. Here’s something I don’t understand -

On Cook’s 1H “targeting” penalty, the announcers and (eventually) the refs agreed that it was not targeting. Clearly Cook was just going for a tackle and Sanders dropping down at the last second caused him to miss the target. Still, it was shoulder to shoulder contact.

Why does the unnecessary roughness call stand (by rule) when the call on the field is overturned?

As bad as Ewers was and as porous as the defense was at that point, I had a bad feeling in the 1st half even at 31-17.

Ironically, I was worried when RoJo broke off the 50 yard TD with 4:00 remaining. I was hoping we’d run 5-6 yards at a time so we could score and end the half without them getting another possession.

Little did I know that not only would they score a TD, but we were a couple of terrible Gundy clock management decisions away from them scoring TWICE in those 4 minutes.

We are really just the opposite of clutch.

There must be a lot of disfunction with the players and staff. That scuffle in the Horns' bench and skipping the eyes by quite a few of them is telling. You can't win much if you are not on the same page. Shit is going to be tough going the rest of the season. Fuck.

I really want to know that the hell Savion Red was going on about in the 3Q. He sure seemed to have a lot to say for a guy with less than 10 snaps the entire season.

A QB can't go 19/49 with 3 INTs and win against a decent team. That's not a thing. Quinn played like shit. I love him, but he played like absolute fucking dogshit. He's a freshman.

Worthy... I don't know what the fuck.

The crazy thing is we may have actually been able to win with a 14/49 3 INT Qb if we didn’t also have refs that called a 14/0 penalty game.

seriously - if you’re that quick to pull out the flag there is no way the other team has ZERO penalties the entire game. Give me a fucking break.

Going to have to let it go. @Auto Driller is an idiot handing out negs for folks pointing out what was obvious to everyone except two people. Him and Sark.

Yes, they absolutely sold out to stop the run. So has every team we have played this year.

The difference is that Quinn clearly didn’t have it today. I don’t know if he has a throwing hand injury or what but 19/49 speaks for itself.

My point is this - despite them selling out to stop the run, we still produced (on average) exactly what we needed to win the game running the ball. I can recall Bijan breaking off runs of 8 and 11 yards on first down in the 4th quarter. In both cases he never got another carry and we threw consecutive incompletions to end the drive.

Sometimes, it’s not about outsmarting the other coach. Pound the ball and win the game. It worked last week. Today we decided to rely on our < 40% completion QB which is exactly what Gundy wanted.

Quinn sucked. But did your dumbass not notice the safeties moving into the box in the second half and our inability to run? Does that even enter into your rant?

Did your dumbass not notice our QB launching the ball into the stands? Fuck you.

Bijan and Roschon also can't do it all if you don't give them the opportunity to do anything. Roschon had 0 carries in the second half. Zero.

Roschon’s last carry was a 53 yard TD.

why the FUCK are we addicted to hiring coaches who find success and immediately abandon it.

A bad index finger would be the exact type of thing that would lead to consistent overthrows.

Only part that is on Sark for this game is not pulling Ewers.  We should have had more points in the first half and second half, that was on the players not executing.  Worthy quit on a few balls that he could have possibly caught, stumbled over his own feet on one.  Ewers was missing short open passes, the over throws, tossing balls out of bounds anytime any got within 4 yards of him, just bad all around, the defense had poor effort from some players again.

Casey Cain last week + Worthy this weeks forms a pattern. Our WR fucking quit on the play when they think it’s not coming their way.

  16. Not running the ball is inexcusable. I don’t give a fuck about the refs.

You have the best RB in the nation and a QB who can’t hit the broad side of a barn with a 14 point lead.

And you choose to throw the ball 49 times.

We used to joke about using a Madden champ as OC but this is no fucking joke. A middle school B-team offensive coordinator would have called a better game than Sark.
