Anyone have any good dinner/date night recs? Will be staying in Capitol Hill area and my understanding is that it’s kinda slim pickings, but would like to not have to go too far from that area. Not necessarily looking for a steak house type place, just somewhere the wife and I will enjoy before I meet up with some friends after to watch the Sugar Bowl.

I didn't know Capitol Hill like others--played pool and watched football in the basement of Zack's, by myself or with a woman.  Occasionally would order a pizza upstairs along with $2 pitchers, which were small but good for at least two beers.  Occasionally would go to Cap Lounge and play pool with the lobbyists.  Mickeys was my other hangout--now long gone, and probably so is Mickey.  Little Pub was the last of the pool hangouts and the old timers, now mostly gone.  Henry's and Bullfeathers are still there, but don't expect fine dining, and so is the Monacle.  Also the Ugly Mug on 8th, is a few doors down from where I used to live.

Bombay Street Food on 8th street in Capitol Hill: really spicy, try Lamb Vindaloo, otherwise Lamb Korma is great, Chicken Tikka Masala, ask for extra rice, split a Taj Majal, or drink a full bottle.  Pizza, maybe try Matchbox for personal sized pizza, Belga Cafe or Carusos Grocery for fine dining.  Trustys is a good drinking bar and the psychotic bartender used to work door at Pour House or Cap Lounge, and there's Duffys on H, along with The Vic for soccer, the Pug (one of the owners used to work at Cap Lounge) is great for artists, late night wtf mini Emo's is Jimmy Valentine's Lonely Hearts Club, this should get you started.

Texas Exes meet at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern to watch the Sugar Bowl (South of Chinatown).

The cult of Guns & Jesus is the same cult that owned slaves and succeeded.

Great lyric, NM.  Somebody needs to use this in their anti-Not in My Town anthem.

How is this not a civil rights issue and why are we leaving it up to the states?  They were for heterosexual marriage but now want to leave it up to the states if it's a union between the races?  This should get more traction nationally.  Do they understand what century this is? The reason it's not left to the states is that this is a nation that protects the freedoms of its citizens equally, something the states had a civil war over and dig this, the south lost.  Again, how is handing civil rights back to states not moving backwards?  As long as the union is between adults, who gives a shit what their sex or ethnicity is?  Where are all the slippery slope dipshits?  Also, civil laws are and should be homogenous--it's a nation undivided, and aren't we all Americans first?

CBS, ABC, and NBC should run this on a loop along with Trumps "punishment for the woman" sound bite starting two weeks before the election.

It'll get lost in their both sides arguments, because they don't want to appear biased.

I think the Biden forces in the upcoming Civil War don’t really need to worry about arms and ammo - they just need to find a way to make the Trump Gravy Seals forces go on a forced march…any forced march.

Not being Stonewall’s foot cavalry, we should see an 80% mortality rate in Trump’s forces.

Blockade their meds for blood thinners and diabetes and they'll flat out die.

They'd be spineless if they were refusing to make a stand that they know they should make. Also, as you well know, priniciples need not be virtuous or even good.

Their guiding principles are demonstrated just about every day. The status of their spines regarding Trump is indeed weak to non-existent. However, they've been part of a much more subtle and insidious brand of what has become known as Trumpism for decades.

It takes spine to want to subvert the democratic government of your own country. If self-interest and will to power at all costs form the foundation of your guiding principles, then your spine and values are aligned.

They are boldly taking this country in broad daylight.

I wish they were spineless and aimless, but they're not.

They are spineless but not aimless--they worship money.  But following a 5 time military deferrer states that they will not fight for it.  Trump got others to fight his battles as did MTG and others.  They went awol during the event.  Currently, they are trying to grift commie countries.  Highest bidders come on down and subvert some democracy.
