Secondly, I saw elsewhere the Russian language release contained additional Ukrainian concessions not mentioned in the US release. Namely, a halt to foreign aid to and intelligence gathering for Ukraine.
Funny, I believe the Russian account is probably more reliable than the Trump administration’s account.

This sure seems like priming the pump for an Iran war.
Remember Donald Trump claimed he invented that phrase.

Wait—why do the radical MAGA’s/Ana’s want the police officer who killed George Floyd to be released?
Naked racism. Duh.

Fine. Orban hasn’t, yet.
What about the second part of my post? Do you think the US military will not balk at being deployed against its citizens? If you think there is a chance that could happen, then an opportunity to weed out, diminish, those principled enough to object would be a safer first step.
Trump certainly acts like a moron. But, he is not the only power player in this threat to our Republic.
There’s also Erdogan.
I’m on the record that Trump isn’t invading Canada. If bombs are ever falling on Toronto then I’ll gladly come back here and eat my hat.
-
I guess you’ll say Hungary is not a powerful military.
Trump is an amateur. He’s a moron. And he’s a pussy. He’s not going to invade Canada the way Putin invaded Ukraine. It’s nonsense to think that he will.
He’s attacking THIS COUNTRY. That’s the imminent threat. Canada is just a distraction.

Can you think of a past authoritarian leader, in control of a powerful military, who did not seek to expand their rule, and empire?
Orbán.

Sure, ignore the threat like you’ve ignored all the others that have actually come to pass. That seems wise.I think I l’ve got a pretty good record of knowing what to take seriously and what is bullshit. I knew he wasn’t building a wall and Mexico wasn’t going to pay for the few miles of new wall he did manage to erect. Jan 6 didn’t surprise me at all. He’s not invading Canada. The people he’s looking to unleash the military on are us, the American citizens.

We agree that the deciding factor is the military - loyalty to the constitution and telegraphed warnings to admin insiders of “don’t order us to do this, you won’t like how it goes,” including communications they are already having with their counterparts in Canada and the UK.
You don’t spout the kind of belligerent rhetoric Trump is spouting WITHOUT intending to invade.Trump is a bully who likes to talk tough. He’s also a giant pussy, like all bullies, and he’s not going to invade Greenland let alone Canada. He’s more likely to build a border wall and make Mexico pay for it. It’s just bullshit he spews that shouldn’t be taken seriously. It’s all a distraction to draw attention away from his assault on our own country.

Oh, and just chatting with a friend who is an international relations expert, and something of a gov't insider. He puts the chances of war with Canada and an invasion of Greenland at the level of "near-certainty."
He's not wrong.
Buckle up. We're about to go invadin' ERRBODY.
I question your friend’s expertise because that ain’t happening.

I Imagine Rubio thinking that this was a once and life time opportunity. He probably thought he could be a pillar of diplomacy in the Trump administration.
He might have tried to tell himself that but he only cares about power and sees this as a step up in his aspiration to win the presidency in 2028.

Now that I can see. But Trump for a 3rd term formally-- no way.
The only thing that will prevent Trump from doing everything in his power to remain president in 2029 is his death. He’s not leaving willingly. Have you not been paying attention?

At this point, our only shot is for 1) invasion of Canada, leading to a hot war, which 2) leads to mutiny among members of the military and/or secession by multiple states that will not go along with the madness, leading to 3) civil war, and then 4) maybe when it's all over, and we've only used 3-5 nukes on our own soil, we can slowly reconstitute ourselves into a functioning nation with 5% of its former prosperity and power.
I'm thinking that's our BEST case scenario, FFS.
Maybe make Canada the 51st state. Republicans never win another national election and we get universal health care.

They’re scared. Plain and simple. Most don’t want the mob sicked on them and/or eventually sent to a camp or prison.
The rationale is that if the government shuts down, Trump and Musk will go hog wild destroying institutions and do far more damage than if the government stays open. Would we even hear what all they were cutting until the government re-opened?

I mean, how will a shutdown really make things worse? It's one of the few opportunities the Dems will have until at least the midterms to flex what little muscle they have. Sure, Donald will blame the shutdown on the libs like he does for everything else, so who gives a fuck this time?
Trump and Musk won’t shut down.

It's known as "poor man's lobster" for good reason. It's excellent. Similar to scallop but a little chewier.
If you're ever in Boston, go to the Daily Catch in the North End and have the monkfish marsala. It's awesome.
Yep, hence the little bowl of butter for dipping. The texture and flavor is similar to lobster but it’s not as sweet. It’s very tasty. Sautéed in butter with a squeeze of lemon juice. The asparagus got the same treatment but with a little garlic. I’m new to it and that’s the only way I’ve prepared it so far but I’ve been bookmarking recipes and am going to try it in some other dishes. There’s a Spanish salsa verde recipe that I’ve been told I should try.
