I'm guessing it never felt crowded down low either right?  I'm betting it's not even 2/3 sold.  And who knows how in the hell CDC will sell the remainder at that price tag given the performance on the field.  I honestly wonder if they go offer everyone that has bought in so far a discount of some sort in order to lower pricing next year.

The only time it felt crowded was when the players ran onto the field before the game as everyone was crowded around the tunnel.   Never had to wait for drinks or food and no issues finding a couple open chairs within 5 minutes of searching.

I think those seats are like $8,000 a piece.   Yikes!

  2. Y'all, I got to be honest, the field club is pretty damn cool.  I apologize to all the folks I talked shit about for not sitting in their gray seats.   Why would you?  You can high five Bevo, you are right on top of the action when the ball is on your side of the field.

I actually did sit in my gray seat most of the game and I had like 3 rows to myself.   I was sprawled out like I was watching the game in my recliner at home!

Plus, I think I ate my weight in Lambert's mac n cheese.

  3. Thursday I got my booster shot from the Moderna trial that I'm in after almost 14 months since my second shot. Instead of getting the regular booster, I signed up again for a new trial. I'm really enjoying this lab rat role. :)

I got a full dose (100 micrograms) of Moderna booster that is a slight modification from the original vaccine, with added protection from the Delta variant. Reaction was the same as my second shot, very sore arm, slight fever, achy, just worn out.   I was slightly nauseous with this one for a couple hours, never vomited though. Woke up this morning good as new, except for sore arm still.

Is there anything better than 5g?  Cause I got it!

  4. I just treat Snow's like it's an event, maybe do it once a year. I can go to a UT football game for 5-6 hours and leave there feeling like I've been kicked in the nuts about a dozen times or so, like I have the past decade.

I can hang out at Snow's with friends shooting the shit for 5-6 hours, eat great BBQ, leave satisfied and with leftovers.   It's a win, win.

    I love Snow's

I love Tootsie and Kerry Bexley.

I will *NEVER* go back and be there that early when there are a bunch of other options that take less time. The allure of Snow's initially for me was you could drive to Lexington, eat there, and drive back to Austin before you could get through the line at Franklins.

I am glad for them, really. They are absolutely good people and glad they are making $Texas!

I was way off on my initial estimate.  We were actually 110th in line at 5:20am after they did the head count.   Ordered our food at 10am.

Folks in front of us were from Los Angeles and the couple behind us from NYC.  In the guest book there was a couple from Colombia and another from Italy.   Wild stuff!  Delicious as always.

  6. Burnt Bean Co. did not disappoint!

Got here at 7am and they had all the meats ready, which I was not expecting.   Fatty brisket was excellent, as was the beef rib, just melt in your mouth.   Both nice and peppery.  I liked the jalapeño/ sausage over the regular beef ones.

Now the question is do I hang around to try any of the sides? They aren't ready yet.   May need to grab a barbacoa taco real fast as well. Line is down the sidewalk, probably over an hour wait now.

  7. Just got my ticket allocation from the ticket office today.   Anyone else at the top of section 201 with me?

Looking forward to my first trip to Morgantown!

Going to make it a long weekend and check out Gettysburg too.

Is there much difference between the 11.5 and 14.5?

I got the 14.5 inch, because I wanted it a little higher.  With the platform bed I bought, the top of the mattress is right at 30 inches from the floor.  I did not need get a bed frame, would have been way too high.

I’m going weekend 2 and it says they will be delivered on Thursday. So if you haven’t already received at least a shipping notice, I would contact them. Especially since customer service everywhere is slower due to shortages. May take them a bit longer than usual to sort things out

Ok, thank you.   I am going weekend two as well.   I did get the shipping notice last week.   Guess I should have read it more carefully.   I'll look for them at the end of the week then.

  10. Like others here, I saw Norm Macdonald at Cap City on Dec. 2nd, 2011, the 10:30pm show.   Can't believe it's been that long!

He performed for about 3 hours,  I am guessing way longer than normal.   It was great!!
