What tires are you running and what size are the wheels?? I need something more aggressive, just can’t decide on the size. I do want to keep my TRD wheels.

They are 285/55 BFG Ko2 All terrain. 20 inch rims

Had a set of the KO’s on my previous tundra and got 65k out of them.

I’ll probably go a bit bigger when they wear out. If you don’t care about 20” rims I might opt for the 18”s as the tires are much cheaper .

  2. Not trying to quibble, but that simply isn’t the way the TSS package comes stock. It’s a few largely cosmetic bullshit items that most people replace or remove anyway. You are essentially paying for those wheels and tires. Unless you opted for the TRD off-road package. Not to be confused with the TRD PRO model, you can add that “enhanced” package or the TSS package. So your skid plate was almost certainly dealer installed if you have one.  Summary:TSS - Truck Sport Series Off-Road Special Edition 20" Milled Matte Black Wheels and All-Terrain Tire Upgrade (replaces factory wheels and tires), 5" Black Oval Step Tube, Black Exhaust Tip, All-weather liners, TSS Off-Road Bed Decal, Matte Black badge overlays

TRD OFF-ROAD PACKAGE Upgrades standard wheels to 18-in. split 5-spoke TRD Off-Road Package alloy wheels with black accents and MichelinLTX A/T2 P275/65R18 tires. Includes trail-tuned Bilstein shockabsorbers, rear-side privacy glass, engine skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, front tow hooks on 4x2, and bedside TRD Off-Road decal

Not sure what you are debating ? Didn’t say it came with anything you didn’t list , and I added the others myself.

Mine is 4x4 so maybe that’s why it has the skid plate then, it’s not listed as an installed option on the window sticker.

I do like the cement color they have, but back then it was only on the pro.

  3. I got the tss and put the trd grille on it and the shift knob. Got leather added to the deal I negotiated, didn’t need fancy suspension.

Only couple hundred bucks to make it look similar .

TSS does have a skid plate, but not as heavy duty as the pro.

  4. Guess it depends what interests him, and maybe he doesn’t know yet. I do systems engineering but would hate software development (coding)

He should probably take a few intro classes first and see which field interests him the most. Who cares if one field pays a shitload if you absolutely hate the work.

As far as finding jobs , most IT fields are pretty good so don’t think that would be a problem either way . I’d think software development would be the most common as most major companies have quite a few developers.

I know there are plenty of websites that will show you salary ranges for different positions

  5. I’m seeing stores charging $50 a bottle for Eagle Rare. Love the stufff and it’s my staple bourbon, but as a matter of principle I won’t pay that.

Yep , he’ll if I see stores charging that much I stop shopping there

I dig my truck but black is a pain in the ass to keep clean

No shit, I do regret getting black, especially during the summer it dries off before I can get the towel to it
  7. I have '17 4x4 Lariat with the 10 speed and 3.5 ecoboost.  Gas mileage is just a little less at 18.5 combined, but really good power almost like a V8.  I have been happy with it.
What's the thinking of the group on the best bed cover?  I'm thinking of getting a Roll-n-lock, but man it's pricey.  Other option is one of the metal manual roll ups like a Bakflip.

I got the back flip revolver, I like it because it doesn’t block my view when rolled up like the tri folds
  8. Grew up with a fresh water pool in texas, don't have one now, but am considering it for the next house. Is it better to buy a house with the pool installed or build it after you purchase?

Price wise already there is cheaper , you never get your money back spent on pool when you sell the house , it adds some value but not much.

Of course build it yourself and you get what you want , but have to deal with your backyard being a mess for months .

  9. I found 3 different stores yesterday with Weller 12.  Two of them were selling Weller 12 750ml for $100 and the third was selling a 1 Liter bottle for $109.  No thanks.

Fuck them, I got 2 yesterday for 23 bucks each
