  1. Yeah obviously, but you gotta crawl before you can walk. The fact we have guys that have the confidence to pull the trigger from deep is a start, if they get better at making them then we have a powerful offense.
  2. We've got 7 guys on the roster this year who've attempted more than 20 3-pt shots this year. That's awesome to be able to spread the floor like that with shooters.
  3. Lol, I just saw Kemaka is 0-3 this game from long range. Well fuck it, keep shooting them.
  4. If Hepa keeps draining 3's he's alright by me.
  5. Did I just see Texas Tech is number 11 in the country? WTF is that shit?
  6. That is the type of thing that a good coach would get Ramey to work on.
  7. Klack injured himself senior year, so Roach if he stays healthy.
  8. There are no free rides at GCU. It's ass, gas, or class.
  9. I am now. See you in the suite. Make sure there's cold beer.
  10. Saying Barnes was trying to get a 2nd year with Turner is me throwing Rick a bone and trying to make sense of the reality that happened. If you wanna give another explanation for why he was bringing off the bench and giving 22 minutes a game to a guy who was 5 months away from being one the top rookies in the NBA, I'm all ears.
  11. So you pay employees and owners more and call it "expenses." Shrug. Business is business. Everyone likes money.
  12. Aren't all private universities for profit? And state ones, for that matter...
  13. Game is at 5:00 PM today. Grand Canyon is not a bad team. They are currently 1 spot higher in the Pomeroy rankings than Radford, who beat us 2 weeks ago.
  14. I haven't been to a game in a while. Are the bluehairs still infesting the courtside area where students should be?
  15. It's reasonable to start the upperclassmen this season. I'm fine with subbing out Febres or subbing in Hayes, but it isn't that big of a deal.
  16. This simply isn't true. At the very least, nothing of this nature was apparent at the time Turner was at UT. People saw him riding pine at Texas, not in the starting lineup, and said one of two things: The majority of people said "it looks like Myles Turner was a bit over-rated and has significant basketball learning to do before he is at the NCAA level", and the minority of people said "why the hell is Turner on the bench when his efficiency stats are just fine?" So it was not apparent at all at that time that Turner would pan out as an NBA prospect and many doubted that he would, seemingly Rick Barnes included. I believe in the mind of Rick Barnes there definitely was hope of a 2nd year at Texas for Turner. If this isn't the case, then it's difficult to explain Rick's behavior. If you think Rick wasn't trying to keep Turner around, then his personnel choices that year look even crazier.
  17. Rick Barnes tried to keep Turner from being one and done. He thought that if he benched him and kept his production low, scouts wouldn't be so interested in him and he could get him to stay at Texas for another year. This backfired on Rick because not only did the scouts see through this and maintain their interest in Turner anyway, all of the UT fans that season said "WTF is our best player doing on the bench?" I doubt Shaka will try this with Hayes, though he may keep him on a pretty tight leash. My guess though is that we are seeing a lot of Jaxson Hayes by season's end this year.
  18. Yeah, I really wanna read a 4 paragraph Derka essay that starts with "Texas is not Tennessee." Thanks, I thought since they were both orange they were the same team.
  19. Magic Johnson ain't walkin through that door.
  20. It holds true in the college game as well, but you have to have knockdown shooters. Villanova had that last year. We don't have that. So we're going need to utilize the two point shot and the layups more than we do right now. I think Shaka will be able to make that adjustment.
