Sonny Cumbie says hi.
But the point is valid and is what us Tech fans have been saying ever since Baker left Tech - which I agree was a great move for him and OU.
But here's where the Baker fans miss the boat - him leaving Tech didn't derail Tech as they still had a stud QB in Mahomes.
Tech's issues (until last year) has never been QB play - it's been the ability to keep the other team from scoring 50 every week.
OU is a bonafide Blue Blood program. To claim that they are better than Tech because of Baker Mayfield is assinine.
I understand no one has actually said that but the statement that Baker is better than Pat because OU is bettet than Tech has been made repeatedly and it's equally assinine.
The significance of the '08 game vs Texas may have been bigger but the zenith of the Leach era at Tech and it's peak performance was actually the following weak vs oSu (56-20).
It's amazing that that was Tech's last win vs the Cowboys and it remains the Red Raiders' longest current losing streak against any Big12 team.
I suspect that the streak continues.
According to your very own stated criteria, we do know who's better in the NFL...
Mahomes 2-0
Mafield 1-0
and until the Browns win more games than the Chiefs, Pat will remain the better NFL QB
Tech invented new levels of suck today.
That Land Shark offense will give everyone they play this year all they want and and then some... I think.
It's hard to gage since Tech"s D offered so little resistance but they looked really good.
If you need your HC to tell you not to do that then you are a not a very smart player.
just had back-to-back plays with helmet to helmet contact by the Ole Miss D - one of which was against injured Tech qb
I too really hope Kliff can piece together a season that'll keep his job at Tech because I believe he is going to be an elite coach someday.
It would really suck to go thru the growing pains with him only to see the payoff and bigtime success happen elsewhere.
I also fully understand that some don't see that same potential at all and that his record speaks for itself.
I would not want Kirby Hocutt's job.
Armadillo, that's what I'm ramblin' on about - what if...
What if all 4 of them stayed at Tech? That's already an embarrassment of riches so I'm leaving Jr Michael Brewer out of this. I might be forgetting the stagger on their frosh seasons so let me see if I have this correct.
'13 - Mayfield and Webb
'14 - Mahomes
'15 - Stidham
Davis played 4 out of 4 yrs - no eligibility left
Baker played 4 out of 5 yrs - no eligibility left
Pat played 3 out 3 yrs - could've played last year and been done or redshirted and had this year left
Jarret lost a transfer year and has played 2 out of 3 yrs. This will be his final year. Even with a redshirt yr at Tech he would be sitting on two seasons left.
Chuck was a royal prick toward him in the later years. How he felt years ago means nothing to Jimmy - he wanted Chuck's love and respect to have been ongoing.
Yes, Kim knew both of them - the good and the bad. - and her reaction was puzzling to me at first because we know that she knew how Chuck treated Jimmy.
but "emotionally detached" nails it.
This is the first time for her to see Jimmy not give a shit. In her eyes, Jimmy always forgave Chuck no matter how bad things got between them.
Could be but what would be the point of the fake letter? Jimmy didn't know of it's existence so why write it?
As written, it appeared to have been from years earlier but was still a complete contradiction to how Chuck felt about Jimmy later on and therefore couldn't have been any comfort.
