How far are you from the big broadcast signals? What is the limit on this thing's effectiveness

North Ft Worth to the major network transmission sites in Cedar Hill is about 30 miles line of sight.  Antenna is rated at about 50 miles if placed at least 10 ft above ground.

this was the "antenna" I tried initially, just to see if I could get anything ... tv scanner picked up about 40 channels

  2. Installed this small OTA antenna purchased from Walmart in the attic, pointed toward Cedar Hill (south Dallas).  Digital scan yielded seventy-something hits ... a lot of religious and Hispanic programming, but still about 20 stations with decent programming.  HD picture reception from the network stations and PBS is awesome.  Also installed an in-line signal amp to feed the four TV's in the house.

As someone who went through the training, hiring, and socialization of a career in law enforcement, I wanted to give a first-hand account of why I believe police officers are the way they are. Not to excuse their behavior, but to explain it and to indict the structures that perpetuate it.

    interesting read ...

So has anyone else's twitter feed just got weird?  The search/explore page no longer has trending topics on the page, its all buried in tabs.  The news tab was 404 until just now.

Place is same size as skeeter's. So one vote for Amana. Did you see any immediate benefit on electric bills?

Average monthly whole house usage for the 5 month period, May thru September 2019 was about 1560 kwh.  Our thermostat was set at a constant 73 degrees all day long, except when Mrs. skeeter had her hot flashes, then lower.

The Amana unit has a two-stage scroll compressor and fan system that cycles down power use when the temp differential is not that high, like at night.  I think this is the norm for most any modern hvac system these days.

  6. My home is a bit over1800 ft² ... had my POS contractor-brand Carrier unit replaced with a 4-ton 16 seer Amana unit (top of the line Goodman) with gas heater in 2012.  Has run tip-top since installation.  Unit has the single large media filter that I change every 6 months.

My neighbor had his replaced in 2017 with a 4-ton 18 seer Trane unit.  A bit more expensive, but he's happy with it.
