I guess I'll have to skip past your massive hyperbole next time.

    Fair.

There’s not a host on the station capable of playing straight man sports broadcaster, and, being right there with Gordon with voices. Jub is a funny, talented guy. Now, that doesn’t extend to his personal musical ability or the Board’s view of his musical tastes. Jub’s Red Dirt Foist has totally clouded this Board’s view of him. It’s one of the dumber Surly Ticket takes.

My opinion of him has nothing to do with the music stuff, outside of his hypocrisy regarding Tony Romo playing PGA events while his shitty band plays legit festivals.  It's the "simple" stuff. He doesn't know shit about shit, sports or otherwise, and gets a pass while everyone runs Corby for the same shit.

  2. @ohchaucer I would give you grief for eating things in order but the other night I found myself putting rice, beans, and a piece of enchilada into fresh tortillas and eating it like a taco. It was awesome.  Enchiladas Mexicanas (cheese enchiladas w/ chili con of course, and topped with beef fajita meat and pico) from Papa Lopez in Allen.

Any decent BBQ joints open up in the Round Rock/Cedar Park area since this thread died two years ago?

Go see my buddy Garrett at Lazy G BBQ. Located in the Good Lot on New Hope.

I'm sure that's right.  But my point is that ad revenue should be much higher because of streaming.

I just don't understand why any advertiser would buy an over-the-air ad and not a streaming ad (particularly on a station with a signal that is as weak as the Ticket).  To @sasquatch69's point above, that seems like a failure of the sales department.  But it seems to be a phenomenon across the industry.

It's not the local sales people, it's the national agency buyers. They've been getting streaming for anywhere from fucking free to $25 a spot for a long time.  Mostly free- that's why you hear local spots on the stream that you don't hear on the radio.  They don't value that time at all.  They're lazy as fuck.

    They buy off Nielsen religiously

Monty and DJ are seriously not bad. I’d pair them with Donny for 4 hours and have an hour of a rotating local celebrity like Doocy / Trahan / Aikman / Hansen / Norm in a designated day. This may be my Jump to Conclusions Mat idea and if so it was provided by Texzilla.

Kind of like your fake ratings reporting of yesteryear.

Yeah, but now I'm a helluva photoshopper.

What are the ticket's options at this point to fill those five hours? That's a horrible position for them to be facing with the people currently on staff. It's just Donovan and then guys that host weekend shows. Brutal.

I would put money on them just letting Donovan have 10-3 permanently.

Five hours of Donovan and anyone would be a complete asswhip.

I wonder if his lady’s sports watch is under that glove.  I like how he also wears a formal belt and wool suit pants to play golf.  Totally normal thing to wear to the course in July.

And who the fuck is still wearing knit polos?  Especially on the golf course, my god.

  7. I thought I had posted in this thread but I'm not seeing anything so I'll share mine.  I started in mid-November of 2021 with my weight at an all time high of 238.  Down 40 lbs to 198 as of this morning's weigh-in using a two steps forward, once step back kind of approach.  Food is a bastardized combination of keto and intermittent fasting- I usually eat one meal a day and avoid any sort of starch.  But I'll graze on nuts/trail mix or maybe a piece of fruit here and there.  It's the only thing that works for me, and I feel like 20 months in that it's a permanent "lifestyle change" for lack of a more overused/annoying phrase.  The only analytics I do is weighing every morning and logging it on a spreadsheet.

Exercise has really just been been mid-day walks by myself and then evening walks with my dog.  Long ones though, usually around 3 miles.  I've recently started mixing in some workouts that I can do without much more than a mat, and it's surprising how much easier/more enjoyable that is after you've dropped a bunch of weight..  Most of all, I just try to never sit still.
