Did anyone in this thread bother to see them with Adam Lambert? I heard good things but shied away because it just felt wrong.

Wife dragged me to that concert in Dallas a few years ago.  Her first concert was Queen back in 1980 or something like that.  Lambert was actually a pretty good sub in for Freddie.  I thought Brian May’s guitar playing was the best part about the show though.  As far as the movie, it was mediocre at best but they all did a really good job of impersonating the members of Queen.

    I’m voting for the Latinx.

Most of surly politics is voting for privileged white male born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

You just described Trump.  Did you vote for him?  Were you offended by his silver spoon?

  3. Pass on Rudy’s.  Not a fan.  Been to Terry Blacks (on Barton Springs, right?) and thought it was decent didn’t blow me away.  How would that compare to Blacks in Austin?

  4. Need some BBQ recs for Austin.  I have some clients flying in to Austin for the first time and want to get them some great TX BBQ.  I need to be able to pick it up and bring it to my office for a working lunch.  I usually pre order from Franklins but they are closed on Mondays (so is LA Barbeque).  What would be the best place I can order BBQ in advance for about 10 people and just pick it up.  Looking for great brisket and beef ribs.  I will be flying in that Monday morning also so I could use a place between the airport and my office (Lakeline Mall area).  Appreciate the help.

  5. McClards BBQ, not for the BBQ but get the half spread (tamale covered with Fritos, BBQ beef, beans, cheese and onions).  I was forced to go their for spring break with the kid a few years ago.  He really enjoyed the crystal mines and digging all day in those.  Also had fun at the kids/science museum.  There is some cheesy magic show downtown that he and the wife liked also.  Only good high end restaurant in town closed 6 months ago so not much great food around there.

  6. The Munich/Alps may be harder for me to get to now (because American Airlines sucks) so I am leaning towards flying into London for 4 days and then flying over to Amsterdam and spending about 2-3 days there.  Is that enough time for each location to hit some of the best places to see?  My wife's family had a foreign exchange student 25 years ago that they kept in touch with all these years  that lives about a 30 minutes train ride north of London whose house we can stay at and then commute in each day saving some hotel money.  Will it suck riding the tube each day for 30 minutes back and forth or is it worth just paying for a hotel in downtown London? I believe end of July should be decent weather in both places.  Any other recs would be appreciated.

  7. Thanks for the responses.  I am leaning towards flying into Munich and spending a day or two there then taking the train to Saltzburg or exploring the Alps.  Is there enough to keep a family busy for a week exploring that area?

  8. So I was looking at taking the wife and 12 year old son to Europe for the first time at the end of July for about a week.  I know there are lots of threads about Europe but if you had a week to get away to Europe where would it be and why.  I have been to Rome before but nowhere else in Europe.  Wife wants to get away from the Texas heat and go to a place with lots to do and see.  Looks like I  can use my miles to get to any one of London, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, etc...

  9. Any idea what this is? Found it at my parents house and they weren’t drinkers at all. Probably from the early 1980’s. Could be garbage or good stuff but can’t find it online or the distillery online. They had a unopened bottle also.a286366244e91abe7202456247d47afe.jpg

I'm in DFW, and I haven't seen Weller Antique in a couple of years.  I shop at Specs/Total Wine exclusively, would I have better luck at a smaller independent place?

Goody Goody in Little Elm has it in the back if you make your way up there and just ask for it.  At least they did last week.

i'm going to go ahead and guess you have zero idea how many diplomats the united states needs in russia in order to serve and protect your nation's interest.  for reference though, apparently the obama administration thought that number was 1210  but now there are 455.

and do you even cold war bro?  this is par for the course.

Didn't you mean to say "our nation's interest" not yours?  Is there a way to get rid of this obvious Russian bot?
