  1. With a brand new car, I wouldn’t take it to Best Buy. I would find a reputable electronics install location somewhere else. Our Pilot has the wireless headphones, but they are hit and miss. Sometimes they work great and sometimes the kids bitch about them not working at all.

  2. If you really want to go down the OCD BBQ rabbit hole, sort them in those big plastic bins by size.  Get some latex gloves and the larger pieces go in one, mid size, small, etc..  The bigger pieces can be arranged for longer cooks, whereas the smaller are good from grilling burgers, etc.

*don't do this anymore, but I did at first, and it does help.

  3. My kids pre-K teacher is going to Australia to be with her daughter when she has her baby in August. She is going to be gone from August to October.
Tonight, my wife said: It’s like she’ll be in a whole different country for three months.
Me: No shit, a whole different continent even.

  4. We stayed at the Gastonian Inn near Forsyth Park and absolutely loved it. Dinner at Vic’s on the River was excellent. We did one of the walking tours that was done in the morning and then did a evening carriage ride/tour. As mentioned above, Mrs. Wilkes is excellent. The Lady & Sons (Paula Deen) sucked shit when we were there. If she’s more involved now, it might be better.

  5. I haven't hauled anything over 16'.
I believe 18' and over is considered a super load which would require an actual route survey and bucket trucks to move power lines.

But the state issues a route with the permit. Still have to pay attention to bridge heights. I forget the limit but if a bridge is under a certain height maybe 15' they are marked by a yellow diamond with the measurement on it 1/2 to 1/4 mile before the bridge.

There was a bridge between temple and Waco that was not noted on my permit. It was 13'9" and I was 15" luckily I was paying attention and got off the exit before. A couple of drivers missed the exit and had to wait for police to shut down a lane of I35 so they could back up to the exit ramp.

We had an evaporator body brought in from Houston up to Texarkana on a truck that took days because it was accompanied the entire route by bucket trucks and police. They would bring drivers in and swap them out so the truck could continue to creep along. That shit would have driven me crazy. Also, I’ve looked to see what that cost, but I haven’t put my hands on the figure yet. Had to be a damn pretty penny.

  6. We took the kids out of town last week for a few days. Yesterday I went to get a cup out of the cabinet and find all the cups from the hotel room still in their original plastic wrap that my wife brought home. I won’t even begin to discuss the mound of baby shampoo and soaps that she has stored up.
