  1. Due to a couple robberies next to the most popular grocery store in the area and lots more looks than usual from guys sizing me up as a target, I have stopped going out at night, and I don't carry my phone, flashlight, or debit/credit cards. I only have enough cash for the outing and carry my Philippines ID separately from my money in case the police stop me to check if I am a resident.

People are getting hungry and I can see their desperation. The city police have been diverted to the checkpoints, so they are no longer around the foreigner areas as they usually are. A few men have rattled the gate to my apartment complex to see if it was unlocked. But they can just climb over from a couple different directions if they want to attempt a break-in. The next few weeks of lockdown will be interesting, and it looks like my girlfriend and I may need to stay home more than we like.

  2. Philippines is up to 552 cases and 35 deaths.  28 of the 35 were Male and 25 of 35 were 65+. There are 20 recoveries. The vast majority of cases are still centered in Manila.  The are still none in Angeles where I live. I heard there are 2 cases in Olongapo per a youtuber.

I think that puts metro Manila 3 weeks behind Italy. The rest of the country has it better under control and with good mask usage and social distancing may keep it that way for a while longer.

I put nothing past the CCP but it's important to note that New Tang Dynasty Television is run out of New York by Falun Gong practitioners.  There is nothing wrong with Falun Gong other than the CCPs rounding them up and torturing them so they are going to take any anti CCP slant they can get and run with it (not that I blame them mind you).

I will say something has to give.... Either the virus is more deadly than the current published rates or this whole lockdown thing still seems a bit extreme.

Since NDT sources have been posted  numerous times on this thread I assumed people know what they are and would apply an appropriate filter to the information. Their reports bring up daily examples of CCP dishonesty which I find helpful to assess the big picture of CCP lies. The bottom line is anyone who trusts CCP data on this crisis is an idoit.

  4. ECGC is another proven zinc ionophore in vitro. Anything on that?  I actually have a bottle and drink green tea most mornings.

I read a dissertation by Dabbagh-Bazarbachi and he found it was a better ionophore than quercetin  but less effective than clioquinol. I have not read anything about studies with clioquinol against covid19 either. Clioquinol is readily available for topical use and has been used for treating cancer.

  5. I like CCP virus that NDT and others opposed to the communist party are using. They use it since the CCP might have been able to stop it if they weren't so busy covering it up initially. Wuhan virus would also be a traditional style of name.

So same procedure with masks as girlfriends.

I have decided to stick with the one living with me for the duration of the lockdown in order to minimize the possibility that a women could inoculate me with a large amount of virus. I will reassess the situation when the lockdown gets lifted as there are excellent opportunities with some of the hottest women around. Chasing and catching pussy will likely be the death of me, but hopefully many years in the future.

note in bold because previous discussions indicated "general" masks were only beneficial to the carrier and reducing transmitting and had no benefit to people not infected.

That is bullshit as evident from the many countries effectively controlling the spread by having everyone wear a mask. If for no other reason, it forces asymptomatic carriers or people with mild symptoms to wear a mask. It also at the very least minimizes face touching by uninfected people so to say it has no benefit is pure bullshit.

It’s really mind bottling that people don’t understand we don’t have enough masks for medical personnel but expect the government to mandate everyone use them.

There are enough masks for the 100 million people in the Philippines.  The cialis/viagra vendors are all selling masks now. Most are not N95 or surgical grade but they are better than nothing for wearing outside with other people around. There is no excuse for people in the us to have nothing to wear as a mask.

I have two N95 masks I bought over a month ago, when my order from the previous month was canceled. I alternate them so they dry between uses and wash them every couple days. I realize that washing them reduces their effectiveness,  but it will have to do for now.

97% particulate gets through cloth mask per study I saw yesterday.

At 1 micron but only 89% at 0.1 microns which is closer to the size of a virus. A cotton blend t-shirt is about 70%, so while not as good it is better than nothing

...which has lead to alot of people on Facebook sharing stories of sewing/quilting masks to send to hospitals... when these masks are not going to do anything.

The evidence in countries throughout the far east  does not support your conclusion.  The use and reuse of masks, which are often substandard to begin with,  are almost certainly a big reason why the virus spread has been slowed.

This is certainly not recommended in a hospital setting, but wearing nothing is far worse.

With regards to Covid 19, we've seen the full spectrum of illness in our hospital.  We've got a lot of positives or people in isolation being tested.  Many are stable enough to go home, some in good shape, some on home oxygen equipment..  The truly ominous thing we're seeing in our ICU is that once people go onto ventilators, they aren't coming off, unless they die of course.  These people are going to tie up ventilators for many weeks or worse.  Our regional leadership has asked us to essentially triple our ICU capacity.  Transitional care unit and post surgical recovery areas are being prepared to deliver ICU level care.  ICU doctors are already spread very thin.  So the plan is hospital based internal medicine docs such as myself will take over many ICU patients.  Clinic internists and medical specialty consultants (probably mostly cardiology, GI, etc) will help out the hospitalists.  I assume there will be similar plans on the nursing side with regular floor nurses asked to take care of much sicker patients than they are accustomed to seeing.  There are probably a lot of surgeons, etc who are twiddling their thumbs with all elective surgeries cancelled and almost all clinic visits converted to phone/skype appointments.

2 more days until I get a day off though and will spend it block sanding and barring rain, putting some primer on the Chevelle.   Looking forward to it.

Some of the things I hear about alcoholic beverage makers switching to produce alcohol for hand sanitizer and other companies gearing up to make masks, ventilators and other medical equipment is encouraging.  'Merica!

I watched a YouTube video yesterday of someone touring an Italian hospital. They where very excited when they took a patient off the vent who looked like he would survive. It was the first time anyone with the virus came off the vent alive at this hospital. Sorry no link.

  12. The Philippines has 307 cases and 19 deaths with the latest death being the House Secretary General of the House of Representatives.

The good news is only one critical case out of 274 active cases. We can certainly hope that ratio holds, or something closer to it. Manila is still the worse hit.

There are no known cases in Angeles city where I live, or Mabalacat city north of me that Includes much of Clark airport. They have set up rapid response units to put infected cases and their families into quarantine and test each case immediately. Those units also will disinfect the homes. This is actually the type of response I would expect from a high income country,  so that part of the response is impressive, at least until they get overwhelmed.

The response here is impressive except people are skipping meals or going a day or more without eating. I gave grocery money to 4 families yesterday. The day before I gave someone rent money. The Philippine government is on track to starve many more people than die from the disease.

With major cities locking down my girlfriend's village  of maybe 300 people isolated on Daram island has limited access to supplies. The will have to return to subsistence fishing.

Trump didn't originate the disease. He just stuck his head in the sand instead of doing something to prepare. It's what weak, incompetent, morons do. And 63,000,000 Americans think he's great.
