CV19 gave Herman guaranteed job security for this season and next.

Should they have "Frank'd" their sacrifice? or "James'd"?

Not that they need it as they seem to be doing great but I picked up Franklin BBQ for lunch today. You order three days in advance, come by, wait for a spot to open in lot, they direct you in, you txt your order number and parking stall (there is a sign in front of spot with # to txt). You pop your trunk or back of car/SUV and they come and put food in. Super easy and as always fucking delicious. Highly recommend.
Also Lucky Lab coffee by campus, they open on Sat (maybe Sunday) and every $15 you spend they donate a coffee to healthcare workers. You can also order more and just have put on your bill. Good coffee and good pastries as well. Walked the dog there this morning.
Keep supporting local business.

Our Pony league is going to try and play out the Season in the Summer and start in June.  That’s the chatter at least. Â
That's the word from my younger son's select team. Playing tourneys in the summer.

I have told them in all likelihood I am not renewing. I am in for a goodly amount of $ for east side club seats and really the club is a bit of a pain (total first world problems)
The use of drink tickets vs being able to use a card (you end up carrying like $100 of drink tickets per game and it feels like 1960s BS) also there is minimal seating inside the club. Add in fact that I am unsure there will be games this year AND this year's home schedule really sucks I am 99% sure I am out. Add in fact on field product has been pretty poor last 10 years as well.

Putting in plug for Bougie Donuts. Good stuff. Order on line the day before and pick them up at their place.
Little far south (basically off Mopac and 71/290, but a nice treat.

Couple of things:
1) Incredible time to be a leader - I have people of all different levels reporting into me from an org perspective - Brand new folks just starting their careers to seasoned executives who have been in workforce for decades. If you are a leader right now, you have the chance to really show your humanity while interacting with employees, clients and partners. Zoom does make an engagement more personal as due to SIP you are getting a look into someone's home. At the same time we do have financial objectives to achieve so you have to balance that "human-centric" approach with the task at hand. It really is an interesting paradox to work through.
2) All the noise around "re-opening" the economy is BS - There will be significant regulatory change around offices (safe distances, temp scans, masks at work, rolling arrival times etc). I cannot envision scenario where any state/city (well there may be a couple I can see - No CR) that just say "everyone act like it was". I see CA/NYC in particular having strict distancing regulations in the workplace.
Truly amazing times. Knock on wood I am ok in my spot for now, but you truly never know as there is no "social contract" between an employee and company any longer. Company I am with is in a VERY strong cash position and I can easily see some significant acquisitions made coming out of this. I feel for anyone at a midsize company/start-up right now, especially if they have been operating in red to ramp business. I know how many of my customers are asking for deferred payments etc and I can only imagine the impact that has for a smaller company with minimal to no cash reserves.
Good luck to everyone out there. All the best to you and your families.

Another restaurant plug. Picked up dinner for family from Flower Child off of 2nd street tonight.
You order online, walk in and there is a shelf with online orders ready at your appointed time. Zero interaction with staff. Easy parking up front on 2nd (spots dedicated to food pick up)
Good avocado wrap for dinner with sides of corn/quinoa, sweet potato & brussel sprouts.

Nope. It was in the hundreds. Maybe that's "large" to you, but don't they have 35,000 FAs?
However, several thousand took an unpaid leave, as long as a year. They get to keep their medical and flight benefits while on leave.Â
hundreds seem like quite a few to me, admittedly off a large base, but still a good amount.

Just saw where a large number of AA FAs have opted for early retirement.Â
Perhaps if/when air travel returns AA will replace these old bitter FAs with some that don’t actively hate their passengers. -

yes and no--people still get medicine by mail, the census is by mail, some still get tax refunds and IRS statements, ballots, bills, registrations, there's still a value with the USPS.  Also, Trump has managed to put his people in and effectively control a bunch of government agencies.  I see this as just another control grab.  Except this should be a conflict of interest since so much individual information would effectively be handed over to the private sector, without their consent.  Plus the private sector would now effectively control the flow of information for the dissemination and retention of individual information.  And for those really afraid about the government taking your guns, you'd pretty much effectively sell your remaining privacy at this point--the stuff that really matters.  That's some power that really would be used for the wrong purposes, distorted and manipulated. There's some tyranny at play here. Â
I wish they would just stick to being the governments delivery service or just outsource to FEDEX/UPS the delivery of the items you mention. They could charge me $20/mos to just dump the junk mail in trash right now by front door vs putting mail person & myself at CV19 risk and I would gladly pay it.

Meh, fuck the Constitution. It's just an old piece of paper... except that thing about guns.Â
I think this is a case where if a President opted to shut down all domestic & international air travel, hold back highway funds from states, not allow access to emergency stock piles to states that didn't follow national guidelines etc that a President could "win" this point but it would be a Pyrrhic victory at best.
Trump has allowed states to have autonomy on shutting down etc throughout this process, not sure why when they reopen fucking matters to him.
Having a crazy narcissist for our country's leader is exhausting.

Finished the WONY of expansion and it is definitely worth the $. Good set of missions and some cool new tech you can pick up along the way. You get to lvl 40 pretty fast and once completed you start the "infinite" progression system.
Really good end story hook/preamble into next season of Div 2 and potentially (I hope) a Div 3 one day. I like the fact that there is still a strong solo FPS out there that allows you if you choose to play with/vs others.

He’s 6’6 with good hands.  I’m not sure why he didn’t spend his entire RS year and RS Freshman year living in the weight room.  Humid he can get to 250 and learn how to block, he’s an NFL prospect bc he has decent hands.  He simply doesn’t want to play TE and doesn’t have the willingness to get nasty and block.Â
He could have spent all the time he wanted in the weight room and it wouldn't have mattered. Soft is soft. Epps as it stands is a physical freak, he just is soft on the field.
Workout warrior. It feels like UT has been full of them lately.

USPS should monetize people that don't want credit card solicitation, catalogs, junk mail etc delivered to them.
They cannot compete with UPS/FEDEX and have been relegated to junk mail delivery service.

Just a follow up on the Matties meal. Was great - pork tenderloin, biscuits, salad, pie, mashed potato and veggies.
If you need a family style meal, I recommend you hit them up.
Thunderbird coffee was open today so putting a plug in for them as well. They have snot guard set up and you never hand your card to them etc
Wear your masks, be safe but keep local businesses you want to see stay around post CV19 going. Tip large & don't do shit like use promo codes etc. Just pay fucking retail.

My dog died a couple of years ago, i was bawling at the Veterinarian’s. Just awful.Â
The loss is something you’ll weather through but man it’s going to suck. -

You’re aware young, healthy people can spread it, right? You also know that many of the coaches are old, fat and exactly they type of people that this thing kills, right? Or the parents of the players? It’s fucking stupid to even consider this right now.Â
My thing is not a worry about the coaches (especially a HC making millions). It is the equipment managers, trainers, cleaning crew etc folks making a whole lot less than the HC and their assistants. If a coach making a couple of millions wants to sign a waiver that is one thing, an equipment mgr making like 50k is another.

Although he would have actively worked to fuck me on taxes, he was going to get my vote. Certainly he appealed to me more as a voter than Biden does. ABT I guess but Biden is in many ways a similar to Trump (bumbling speaker, hands-y with the ladies, quick tempered etc). Ugh

Putting plug in for Lamberts - Picked up some on Sunday (family 4 pack) - was good stuff and I was at WF downtown so it was convenient to pick up.
Another plug for Matties at Green Pasture - They are doing an Easter brunch family pack. Picking that up this Sunday.
Keep supporting your local places - tip them heavily - buy some gift cards etc etc

Plug in for Better Half. Picked up 4 cheeseburgers for family tonight. Good stuff

37.6% of adults have a condition that increases their risk of death if they contract coronavirus. 92 million people. Its better if they don't all hit the ER at once.Â
Â
14 minutes ago, Skipper said:As broad as I've seen things used for "pre-existing conditions" I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than double that. Athsma when you were 5 but no problems in the last 40 years? Welp, chalk it up to a "pre-existing condition".
I think this is due mostly to just how disgustingly fat the US is overall. The bulk of pre-existing conditions probably stem from the extra 200lbs most Americans seem to be lugging around. Drop the weight and a lot of it goes away sans drugs.

Someone up above had put a plug in for Fixe but I will second it. Just had bacon/egg/cheese biscuit sandwiches and then a dozen plain delivered to the casa. So, so tasty.
