  1. Yeah, some straight looting going on in there... I respect that they have a lot of choices at retail prices, but the vast majority of that is easily acquired at any liquor store or repute. The RHF in my second pic is the BiB but I believe they had multiple on offer. They were asking $350 for the standard bottle that I paid $109 for at my local a few weeks ago.
  2. Sure is... the RHF BiB tucked into the corner there ain’t no slouch either. Seriously, some of those bottles are simply insane. Can’t believe I missed a chance to buy that Fitz 17 for retail by a few hours earlier this year
  3. Gentlemen, I present to you, the “Tennessee Run”: Only had time for one Kentucky stop at Justin’s on the way home, and while their selection is excellent, those prices are stupid... $400 for regular Blanton’s?! There was a cabinet that made me consider giving up all my worldly possessions however...
  4. Of all the outstanding whiskey I’ve had in Tennessee this week, tonight’s 1-2 punch may have left the most inedible impression. Dinner at Husk tonight demanded quality, so I opened up with 2017 ER17. Just a beautiful pour, taking everything I love about ER, extending the mouthfeel and softening the backend. If I could, I would drink this every day. After dinner I went down to the bar to see if they had anything off list, and was stunned to find this year’s Heaven Hill 27 BP sitting next to a Yellowstone from the 70’s. Was able to convince them to give me a 1oz pour for half-price and good lord what a ride... Soft yet powerful, bright yet layered with darker notes. Just a magnificent pour all the way through and I only wish it had lasted longer. Perhaps 10-20 mins after I emptied the glass, multiple people at the table where picking up the sweetness of the most wafting through the room, which is pretty remarkable coming out of a glencairn.
  5. Unfathomable playcalling... just beyond stupid garbage. Could have run endless crossing routes and been in the end zone by now... Wow WOW
  6. Agree with that sentiment, but still prefer the 12 straight... especially if it’s vintage.
  7. Shit, I can recall four years ago when I lost a large batch of PMP to a shitty mini-barrel I purchased on Amazon. Went down the hill, snagged a bottle of Antique and 12 for $35 a piece and went back up to make another batch... FML Anyway, tonight was fun. Started with a 2017 Sazerac 18, moved onto this year’s Hancock, then finished with a 2017 WLW compliments of the manager who was a rockstar. She pulled out her bottle of Pappy Rye at the end and I thought we were going to crack it, but apparently promises had been made. Now back home sipping on Smokewagon and trying to forget the Cowboys exist as a thing.
  8. He was anticipating this game and Thanksgiving... who could blame him?
  9. I’m sorry, I forgot that it was a 4 point game with 12 mins to go on 4th and 10 from your own 20... What The Fuck ?!?!!?!??
  10. He could have said 4AM and I would have been nodding along while reading. Do what you gotta do to get the goods... it’s a got damn war out there!
  11. Either that, or Emmy Award winning live production... Yes, 100% taped trash.
  12. From the 20... and then runs that play. Be careful what you wish for...
  13. Posted this in the other thread, but I’ve had like 8 of them so think they’re worth a repost...
  14. For a moment I thought the first pic was the finished product and I wondered if you had crossed things up with the SteelShank thread... Looks good man... would smash (especially with some cheese and spicy mustard)
  15. Only thing we’re eating until this evening are these Bacon Jalapeño Deviled Eggs
  16. Just, you know, Breeder’s Cup SiBs... no big deal
  17. Cool, thanks y’all - Will give those a look tomorrow. Had some good finds today but will wait to post the entire haul from this trip. On one stop where all I found was some extremely rare mescal, I was talking the manager up about their allocation. Seems they hold most of it until the 2nd week of December for a first-come-first-served release at retail prices. Said they have a line a couple hundred deep by the night before but most walk with bottles, and given that he has a case of Pappy waiting, I can only imagine what else is back there... one hint was a $3500 bottle of Woodford. Who knows WHAT that could be... but the first in line last year walked with a 23YO Heaven Hill. Anyway, apparently people drive from Chicago and southern Georgia for the sale, which for a small store in Nashville seems crazy, but that’s the state of things these days...
  18. Is there a bottle of New Riff worth picking up? Seeing it everywhere here and haven’t tried it. - Straight Rye - SiB Rye - SiB Bourbon - Straight Bourbon - Peated Backset Rye
  19. Bah, no... wasn’t even aware of that pending release or I certainly would have asked, but I didn’t see any in the shop.
