From what little I seen, I would gladly take Callaghan over Berhalter.

Who wouldn't you take over Berhalter?

i have to be honest, when massive entertainment type layoffs like this happen, it's rarely a surprise. what is a surprise is who they choose to let go vs who they choose to keep.

these espn layoffs don't make a lot of sense.

I assume that they laid off the talent with many years left on their deals and/or ridiculous compensation.  They will let the remaining talent run down their relatively short-term deals and then reset the compensation market for all but those they deem crucial (Smith, McAfee).  Most of this talent is fungible and ESPN has hired way too many people for way too much money for way too long.

  3. Great moves for Pepi and Pulisic.  Pepi needed a moderate step up and got it by staying in the same league but with a CL club with a history of moving players on after they further develop.  Pulisic needed to get the hell out of the EPL and move to a slower paced and less physical league while retaining CL status.  A legendary club like Milan is the icing on the cake but he isn't going to play LW there with Leao on the roster and, no,  Milan isn't moving him to accommodate Pulisic.

  4. Yedlin was average at best.  He is also pointless. Why play a past his prime FB who has played poorly for the worst team in MLS over a European-based youngster coming off a solid season?  It’s the same issue with Long instead of Neal and Morris instead of Cowell.  Average past their prime MLS players taking minutes from young players who could potentially contribute to the A team at some point. It’s a huge problem for greggg teams.  Pointless call ups of dudes with no USMNT future at the expense of potential future contributors.

  5. Cuntggg clearly picked the staring 11.  Welcome back to underperformance.  It’s stunning how corrupt and incompetent the ussf is.

Got pretty drunk friday night and decided I absolutely MUST go to The National's Homecoming, bought festival tix and a flight lol. Never been to cincinatti. I think i might end up there solo. They're not chucking solo brown guys into the river there too, right? RIGHT!?

    Anyone wanna join?

Excited for The Walkmen reunion and Pavement, which was the deal sealer. But also, before COVID canceled the last scheduled Homecoming in 2020 they were supposed to play High Violet in full. Hoping they do a front-to-back set of something classic (hoping for HV obvs). They played Boxer in full for the 2018 homecoming.

  7. Our fanbase expects that we will be able to succeed in the deep waters of international soccer (e.g., COPA and WC knockout rounds) with a player pool that is at best equal to the opposition and a coach who was openly mocked by the opposing coach the last time he was in this situation.  We desperately needed to buy an advantage in our coaching search and we somehow reapplied the wheel boot we just got rid of.

In the end, this is why we talk about the coach situation. Against CONCACAF Gergg can look good. Put him in the Copa or the World Cup and it's not unreasonable to think the other coaches can coach circles around him. And that's the sad part because yeah, we have our most talented team ever. And I would not be shocked to see him waste it.

Gergg looked like absolute dogshit the last time he was matched up against CONCACAF when he couldn't beat Canada and avoided a play-in game on goal difference in WCQ despite having a roster that some of our fanbase believes is better than Uruguay's.

    Are we?

Nope.  You are also missing Giminez (starting CB for Atletico), Torreira (starting DM pit bull for Galatasary), Olivera (Napoli's starting LB) and Ugarte (22 year old DM for Sporting heading to PSG currently valued at 50 million).  The pools aren't even close.

  10. Our player pool is clearly behind Uruguay and I would expect Bielsa to coach circles around the retread moron we idiotically rehired.

We are more on the level of Colombia and Ecuador in the current second tier of CONMEBOL teams ahead of Chile (golden generation is old AF), Peru, Venezuela, Paraguay and Bolivia.

Greggg is more than capable of placing us firmly in the third tier.  I wouldn't put a dime on a Greggg-coached USMNT against Colombia or Ecuador.

  11. Far from the media’s gaze, Robertson has used the tax-exempt, nonprofit Operation Blessing as a front for his shadowy financial schemes, while exerting his influence within the GOP to cover his tracks. In 1994 he made an emotional plea on The 700 Club for cash donations to Operation Blessing to support airlifts of refugees from the Rwandan civil war to Zaire (now Congo). Reporter Bill Sizemore of The Virginian Pilot later discovered that Operation Blessing’s planes were transporting diamond-mining equipment for the African Development Corporation, a Robertson-owned venture initiated with the cooperation of Zaire’s then-dictator Mobutu Sese Seko.

  12. It's pretty interesting that this Middle East opportunity he was supposedly leaving for hasn't been disclosed yet.  At least I haven't seen it.

Their issue was their back 4. McKennie wasn't great but he was thrown into a bad situation and then had to play under 3 different managers. And they kept starting him so he obviously wasn't that shitty. He'll be fine somewhere else. He had nice stretches with Juve.

He was absolutely that shitty.  One of the worst passers in Europe's Big 5 leagues.  He has been in steady decline since the 2020-2021 season and is running out of chances.  He was clearly playing a role he is incapable of out of necessity due to the Adams injury.  He needs to identify a perfect situation next season where he can play as a marauding 8 surrounded by elite distributors or he is MLS bound.

  14. Weston was awful at Leeds.  Dude needs to get his head out of his ass or he will be in MLS in two years.  Leeds fans hate him.

Tyler is on to bigger and better things elsewhere likely in the EPL

Aaronson is going to the Championship.  Awful season for him as well. I
